Issued by order of October 29, 1962.
(Official bulletin of industrial property, n ° 49 of 1962.) (Patent of invention whose delivery was postponed in execution of article 11, § 7, of the law of July 5, 1844 modified by the law of 7 April 1902.)
The present invention relates to a prefabricated material for the rapid establishment of removable partitions.
It is frequently necessary to establish partitions dividing areas of similar or different activities either in the premises of buildings, or in temporary constructions erected on construction sites and places of exhibitions or shows.
This division into small offices, boxes or stands is generally carried out by means of joinery pieces specially established for each case and difficult to dismantle after their installation and assembly.
The object of the invention is to provide a prefabricated material which makes it possible to carry out such a division of premises or work surfaces in an extremely short time and to remove or modify it as quickly.
The subject of the invention is a material composed of prefabricated elements in several nominal dimensions determined so that, by their combination, it is always possible to establish the division of the surfaces in the desired manner.
The material which is the subject of the invention therefore essentially consists of two metal posts or any other tubular material, preferably of square section, provided on at least two of their faces with vertical rails and in panels constituted by metal boards or any other material, assembled by profiles bracing them, said boards having laterally folded edges that can engage in the vertical rails of the posts and thus secure the panels of the latter.
The posts are preferably provided at their base with a jack constituted by a screw provided with a rubberized support pad and which is screwed into a 2 - 41673 -φtraverse, placed inside the post, said jack making it possible to vary the base of the post above the ground and to make up for differences in the level of the supporting ground of the installation.
The posts may be substantially the same height as the panels or be of a greater height to allow a window or glass to be placed, or else a mesh or solid panel of any material deemed suitable above the panels, slides being for this purpose fixed by simple stapling or interlocking on the suitable faces of the posts and the upper edge of the panels being coated with a joint cover formed by a profile having a longitudinal groove allowing with said slides the housing of the one of the above complementary elements. This joint cover constitutes a decorative element of the assembly., At the same time as it ensures the connection with the upper elements.
Beyond a certain height, the posts may have vertical slides of the same arrangement, as those which are mounted at their lower part. These slides can be arranged in one or two stages in such a way that they can receive either an upper cross-member, or a middle cross-member and an upper cross-member which have the purpose of ensuring the rigidity of the assembly, and of enabling accommodation and the maintenance of windows or any other coating. The crosspieces are stapled in the same way as the lower panels. They are stopped in abutment on the runners by the play of an upper rim arranged for this purpose., The middle crosspieces have a lower groove and an upper groove serving for housing the windows or any other elements employed. The upper crossbars have only one housing groove below.
The panels not surmounted by complementary elements. Price of the booklet: 2 francs - 2 - [1,311,348] mentaires receive on their upper bank a cover -] 'anointed constituted by a profile of metal or other material with united upper part.
Skirtings, metal or any other material may staple at the base of the panels and include electrical outlets.
Metal brackets stapling in openings made in the faces of the posts allow the panels to be kept at the height necessary for stapling the plinths in line with the latter.
The top of the posts is capped with a removable cap, which also serves to lock the profiles for holding glass or other elements.
An embodiment of the aforementioned prefabricated material is described in the following description by way of simple example, in no way limiting, with reference to the appended drawings, in which:
Fig. 1 shows in perspective the main elements of the material;
Fig. 2 shows a fragment of the post seen in elevation;
Fig. 2A shows a post provided with upper slides as well as the corresponding middle and top crosspieces;
Fig. 3. represents a post seen from above;
Fig, 4 shows the method of fixing the panels on the posts;
Fig. 5 and 6 represent on a larger scale the constitution of a panel;
Fig. 7 is a detailed view of the base of a post;
Fig. 8 shows a support square for the panels;
Fig. 9 shows an actuator cover and a slide cover,
Fig. 10 and 11 represent, in profile, anointed covers;
Fig. 12 shows, in perspective, the fixing elements of a window.
The material for the establishment of demountable partitions first of all includes posts of different heights capable of holding panels in place, which may be either the same height as the posts, or a lower height enabling a glazed surface to be established or screened above said panels.
The posts are made up of tubes 1 of metal or any other suitable material (fig. 1) of preferably square section, on at least two faces of which are fixed runners 2 (fig. 2 and 3) at a height corresponding to that of panels forming the solid partition. These slides are formed by profiles into which folded edges 3 (fig. 1) of the two metal boards 4 constituting the solid panels of the partition can be inserted, as shown in FIG. 4.
The two metal planks 4 (fig. 5 and 6) are braced and held together by upper edges 5 and lower edges 5 'formed by U-shaped profiles, lateral edges 6 also formed by U-shaped profiles having wings equal or less wide than those of profiles 5 and 5 ′ and finally by stiffening elements 7 constituted by U-shaped profiles, one of the wings of which can come to hang on Z-shaped profiles 8 fixed to the internal face of one of the boards 4.
The panels can optionally receive inside a thermal and acoustic insulation material, at the same time as they allow the accommodation of the electric cables if necessary.
It is immediately understood that the hollow panels thus produced can be fixed to the posts 1 by sliding them along the lateral fields of the said panels, or vice versa the latter along the posts, so that the flanges 3 are inserted between the post 1 and slide 2.
To allow adjustment of the plumb and the level of the posts, they are provided at their base with a jack device constituted by a screw 9 (fig. 7) which is screwed into a nut 10 welded or crimped on a cross member 11 in U fixed inside the post.
The screw 9 can be provided with an elastic pad or a plate to be screwed to the floor. This plate allows free rotation of the screw for adjustment.
On the other hand the partitions may include a plinth, formed by two metal strips 13 (fig. 1 and 5) profiled at their upper part to form two longitudinal grooves 14. The strips are joined together by a U-shaped profile 15 which leaves sufficient elasticity to the plinth thus formed to allow the insertion and attachment of the lower edges 3 ′ of the boards 4 in your grooves 14.
To reserve the place of the plinths at the bottom of the partitions, the panels 4 are supported by small brackets 16 (fig. 8). hooking into your openings 17 (fig. 7), T-shaped in the faces of the posts and limiting the descent of the panels along the latter.
The base of the posts and their jacks are masked by jack covers 18 (fig., 9) formed by U-shaped elements fitting onto your posts or being able to be fixed thereon by means of a screw or any other system.
The posts are closed at their top by a cap 19 (fig, 1) fitting onto them.
The unused runners of the posts can be hidden by a runner 30 long enough to hide the jacks. In this case the cover 18 is not used.
As shown in fig. 2A, beyond a certain height, the posts may include vertical slides of the same arrangement as those which are mounted at their lower part. These slides · res can be arranged in one or two stages so that they can receive either an upper cross member 31, or a middle cross member 32 and an upper cross member which have the purpose of ensuring the rigidity of the assembly, and allow the housing and maintenance of glass or any other coating. The sleepers staple in the same way as the bottom panels. They are stopped in abutment on the slides by the play of an upper edge 33 arranged for this purpose. The middle crosspieces have a lower groove 34 and an upper groove serving to accommodate the windows 37 or any other elements used. The upper crosspieces only have a housing groove 25 below.
When the partitions consist entirely of panels 4 of the same height as the posts, said panels are coated above their upper edge, by a joint cover 20 (fig. 10) with a flat horizontal face and covering the two boards. 4
However, the partitions may include a glass, mesh or other upper material. In this case, the joint cover, placed at the top of the solid panels produced as just described, is constituted by a profile 21 (fig. 11) having a longitudinal groove 22 intended to receive a lining carrying an ice or a frame carrying a mesh, or a panel of solid or perforated agglomerated material, etc.
Laterally the glass or the frame is held by slides 23 (fig. 12) · provided with a flap that folds down and hangs in notches made in the upper part of the post 1 and a tab 26 inserted between the lateral edge of the panel and the hollow of the guide rail 2 of the post. The glass 27 is slid into the elastic linings 28 inserted in the slides 23 and the groove 22 of the joint cover 21. A small cap 29 is placed at the top of the slides 23 to close the latter.
The posts are obviously arranged to receive hinges or hinges allowing them to mount a door or a frame, opening, the door or the frame being able to be of any kind, or made like the panels 4 by means of metal boards or any other material and profiles bracing them. Notches in the doors allow the installation of locks of any type deemed preferable. Strikes are attached to the posts or made through openings in them.
Electrical sockets can be provided in the plinths 13 inside which it is possible to pass suitably insulated wires or cables.
The panels 4 and the posts 1 can be made of galvanized sheet steel for example, or - [1.311.348] of any other metal, or any other material. One or both of their faces can be coated with plastic sheets or film or with layers of paint.
The joint covers 20 and 21 can be made of treated aluminum, stainless steel, chromed copper or other decorative material.
To avoid twisting and tilting of a mounted assembly of removable partitions, a small panel, not shown, can be stapled perpendicularly to one of the end posts.
In addition, when using large posts, these can be locked to the ceiling by an upper screw jack 36, fitted with an anchor point or any other system.
Thanks to this equipment, it is possible to construct a partitioning very quickly inside a room, to isolate the occupants from each other - and, as quickly, to modify the distribution and the composition. The elements that compose it can easily be produced in a few standardized or nominal dimensions simplifying manufacture and also their assembly.
It is obvious that modifications of form and detail can be made to the material described above by way of simple example which is in no way limitative without thereby departing from the spirit of the invention.
