Drive-through chamber type timber drying kiln
Abstract
A drive-through chamber drier for timber where the timber loads (P) to be dried are carried on a roller track (10) through a front door (11) into the drying chamber. From the drying kiln, the timber loads (P) are removed after drying from the opposite side of the drying kiln through a rear door (13). The drying kiln comprises two or more drying chambers (K1, K3; K2, K4) connected in series. Of these chambers (K1, K3; K2, K4) connected in series, each chamber operates independently in such way that when the timber loads are moved from a first chamber (K1, K3) to the second chamber (K2, K4) the drying will be carried on in this chamber (K2, K4) starting substantially at the point which had been reached in the drying process in the first chamber (K1, K3).

Timber chamber dryer Genomkörbar kammartork för virke
The invention relates to a passable timber chamber dryer in which the timber loads to be dried are brought on a roller track or the like through a front door to the drying chamber and from which the timber loads after drying are removed from the opposite side of the dryer through the rear door.
It is already known that the so-called through-chamber chambers. The structure of these is such that the drying loads assembled from the drying packages are introduced into the drying chamber on the roller track in front of them, from where the loads are pushed inside the drying chamber. The pre-dried loads are taken out of the opposite door of the drying chamber. The advantage of these known chamber dryers is that they have a relatively short load change time. However, the disadvantage is the expensive implementation of the dryers, as they require two opposite doors and roller tracks on both sides of the drying chamber. The object of the present invention is to provide a simple solution which can substantially reduce the above-mentioned drawbacks and provide a chamber dryer which retains the above-mentioned advantageous properties of a chamber dryer.
In order to achieve these and later objects, the invention is characterized in that the drying room has two or more closed drying chambers connected in series and separated by a partition, and that each closed chamber is equipped with its own drying air treatment devices to operate independently of each other their own drying conditions, arranged so as to be adjustable, that when the entire timber content of the previous chamber is transferred to the next chamber, the drying is continued there substantially from the point where the drying time was reached in the previous chamber.
The invention will now be described in detail with reference to an embodiment of the invention shown in the figures of the accompanying drawing, to which the invention is not limited.

Figure 1 shows a side view of a chamber dryer according to the invention. Figure 1 is at the same time a vertical section along the line II marked in Figure 3.
Figure 2 shows a vertical section II-II in Figure 3.
Figure 3 shows a horizontal section III-III in Figure 2.
According to the figures, the chamber dryer comprises four drying chambers K ^, Κ? 'Κ3 3a ^ 4 · Chambers K ^ and K ^ with each other and chambers K ^ and K ^ with each other are in series. Thus, the chambers and together and the chambers K ^ and K ^ together form two groups of chambers, each of which has only one front door 11 and a rear door 13. The chambers K ^, ^ Ja ^3, K4 laP4 run roller tracks 10. The initial parts 10a of these roller tracks are located outside the doors 11 and the end ends 10b of the roller tracks 10 are located outside the rear doors 13, respectively. The timber loads to be dried are introduced to the beginning of the roller tracks 10a and the pre-dried loads are removed from the end 10b of the roller tracks 10.
The chamber dryer comprising two groups of dryers consists of outer walls 14 and partitions 16, a roof 15 and the above-mentioned front doors 11 and rear doors 13. these partitions 12 need not be heat insulating. The partitions 12 are preferably such that the drying loads P1 can be pushed through them from the first chamber K1, K1 to the second chamber K_, K1.

Each drying chamber has devices for circulating the drying air through the timber loads P1 and P1 formed of corrugated packages. These devices include one or more fans 20 and a heating coil 21 located in the duct 22. On the suction side of the fans 20, a supply air flow F from outside air is introduced into the duct 22 through the ventilation ducts 26 and a discharge air flow F is taken from the pressure side of the fans 20. In connection with the ventilation ducts 25 and 26, there are control dampers 23 and 24, by means of which, together with the control of the radiators 21, the drying capacity of the circulating air F1 can be influenced. Said devices are separated from the load compartment by a partition 17,
741 36 which is open at both edges (openings 18 and 19). From the second opening 19 the circulating air can pass to the side of the load and from the second opening 18 the ground returns to the fans after passing through the loads before that. The direction of rotation of the air is changed at regular intervals and usually automatically.
The walk-through chamber reading room described above operates as follows. The first chambers of the chamber groups and and the second chambers Kj Ja K4 operate independently. When the loads Pj are transferred from the first chambers K 1, K 2 to the second chambers K 1, K 2, drying is continued after this transfer as if the transfer had not taken place, i.e. after the transfer the drying pattern is followed in the second chambers Κ ^, Κ ^ from the drying point where , K ^ had time to dry sa get. For this purpose, it is preferred that the recirculating air flows F, in the first chambers K ,, K_ and in the second chambers K „, K. are opposite to each other.
Each chamber group has, as described above, two sliding chambers in series. In some applications, these chambers may have more than one in series, e.g. three or four.
Thus, according to the invention, there is provided a walk-through chamber washroom in which each chamber group, K9 and Κ ^, Κ ^ for is still only two doors 11 and 13 and only one roller track 10 or similar rail running through the chambers.
The following are claims within the scope of which the various details of the invention may vary and differ from those set forth above.
