Genetic suppression and replacement

A vector for expression of a suppressing agent for a disease-causing gene and/or a replacement nucleic acid that is not recognized by the suppressing agent, wherein the vector comprises the conserved region B of the rhodopsin gene consisting of the nucleotide sequence shown as SEQ ID NO:408, and optionally at least one conserved region selected from: (a) the conserved region C of the rhodopsin gene consisting of the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:94; (b) the conserved F and G region of the rhodopsin gene consisting of the nucleotide sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:97; and (c) conserved region A of the rhodopsin gene consisting of the nucleotide sequence shown as SEQ ID NO:403; wherein said vector is an adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector.
