Spectacle lens blank (1), with - an optical front surface (3) with optical finish and determined for the arrangement on the object side for a spectacle wearer, - an optical rear surface determined for the opposite arrangement on the side of the eye for a spectacle wearer, and - an intervening cylinder edge surface (4) that either directly forms an edge or indirectly borders via an edge surface on the side of one end with the front surface and on the side of the other end with the rear surface, and with a protective sheet (2) on the optically finished surface (3), presenting the protective sheet (2), on the side facing the front surface (3) of the lens blank of glasses, a pressure sensitive adhesive (2a), which produces a separable bond between the front surface (3) and the protective sheet (2); characterized in that the protective sheet is also disposed on the cylinder edge surface (4) and in that the pressure sensitive adhesive (2a) also produces a separable bond between the cylinder edge surface (4) and the protective sheet (two).
