Systems and methods for efficiently distributing alert messages

Method of facilitating the efficient distribution of electronic alerts to clients through intermediary service providers; the method comprises: receiving, by one or more processors of a centralized information provider, a text describing a current event (202); receiving from the single or multiple processors, semantic rules for processing text (204), wherein each of the semantic rules, if satisfied, specify a match to one or more client attributes. applying, by the single or multiple processors, semantic rules to the text to determine which customer attributes the text corresponds to (206); extract, by the single or multiple processors from an electronic database, (i) identifiers for a plurality of customers, (ii) a set of customer attributes for each of the plurality of customers, and (iii ) for each of the plurality of clients, an identifier that is respective to one of a multiplicity of service providers (208) generated by the single or several processors for each of the plurality of clients, a respective relevance metric of the current event, based on the customer attributes of the customer and the customer attributes to which the text was determined to correspond (210); and transmitting, to the multiplicity of service providers by one or more processors, a respective alert electronic message describing the current event and an indication of a set of customers of the respective service provider whose relevance metrics exceed a certain threshold, for distribution by the service provider to part or all of the customers (214)
