Detecting neoplasm

A method of detecting a neoplasm in a sample obtained from a subject, the method comprising: 1) analyzing a methylation status of a marker in a sample obtained from a subject; and 2) identifying that the subject has a neoplasm when the methylation status of the marker is different from the methylation status of the analyzed marker in a subject who does not have a neoplasm, in which a chromosomal region having a CD1D annotation comprises the marker. , wherein the marker comprises a base in a differentially methylated region (DMR) 27, and wherein the neoplasm is a pancreatic neoplasm.
