Data clustering

Abstract

A computer-implemented method for generating a group of related data entities, the method comprises: establish communication with one or more electronic data stores (820, 830) by storing a plurality of data entities and respective data entity attributes, one or more electronic data stores in communication with one or more physical support computer processors (860 ), one or more hardware computer processors configured with specific computer-executable instructions; generate, for each of the seed data entities selected from the plurality of data entities, and by one or more hardware computer processors, a group of data entities at least by: automatically designating the seed data entity ( 302) as an initial data entity of the group of data entities (252, 252-1); access, based on a clustering strategy (232), two or more search protocols (237-1, 237-2, ..., 237-M); executing a first of the two or more search protocols in one or more electronic data stores to identify one or more data entities related to the seed data entity, wherein the execution of the first of the two or more search protocols comprises: identifying, by one or more hardware computer processors, at least one data entity attribute (303-1) associated with the seed data entity; evaluating, by one or more physical support computer processors, the plurality of data entities to determine one or more data entities (305-1) that share at least one data entity attribute with the seed data entity; and adding one or more data entities to the group of data entities; and iteratively executing each of the other search protocols of the two or more search protocols in one or more electronic data stores to identify one or more related additional data entities (305-2, ..., 305-6) with one or more data entities previously added to the group of data entities, where the execution of each of the other search protocols of the two or more search protocols comprises: identify, by one or more physical support computer processors, at least one data entity attribute (303-2, ..., 303-6) associated with at least one of the one or more data entities previously added to the group of data entities, wherein the search protocol uses the identified data entity attribute as at least one data input parameter for the search protocol; evaluating, by one or more physical support computer processors and based on the execution of the search protocol, of the plurality of data entities to determine one or more additional data entities that share the at least one data entity attribute with al least one of one or more data entities previously added to the group of data entities; and adding one or more additional data entities to the group of data entities (252-1); and storing entity group data.
