DESCRIPTION

Folding child car seat.

For years, some models of folding child car seats have been known that comprise only three wheels, two rear wheels and a central front wheel that, in some cases, is self-orientating.

The object of this invention is to improve the constitution of this type of child car-seat with regard to its lower front part where the self-steering wheel is installed.

A chair car of this type is described in US Patent 5,660,435 Al (State of the Art).

These improvements consist in having in the indicated area of ​​the car-chair the articulation of a footrest that in turn constitutes the support of the front wheel, said footrest adopting an active position and a folding position that allows to obtain a compact folding of the car- chair.

Also characteristic of this car-chair is the presence of locking and unlocking means for the rotating support of the front wheel, and the provision of a braking device for said wheel by cable.

The active position of the footrest is blocked by means incorporated in it and which latch onto a plate attached to the lower part of the front legs.

These and other characteristics will emerge better from the detailed description that follows, to facilitate which it is accompanied by a sheet of drawings in which a practical case of implementation has been represented that is cited only as a non-limiting example of the scope of the present invention.

Figures 1 and 2 illustrate in perspective the lower front part of the pushchair with the footrest, respectively, in the use and folded position, Figure 3 represents the constitution of the footrest in perspective, and Figure 4 indicates the footrest in side elevation with the means of blocking its articulation and with the means of blocking the support of the self-orientating wheel.

According to the drawings, the child car seat comprises a front wheel (1) fitted with a tire (2), which is installed in the lower part of the converging front legs (3) and (4) by means of a footrest ( 5).

This footrest (5) is formed by a metallic one-piece that in its back part forms two recesses (6) and (7) in which the lower ends of the front legs (3) and (4) will be attached where it will be held by means of a shaft. transverse (8) around which the footrest will articulate. The footrest (5) by its front part has a vertically perforated extension (9) forming the cylindrical passage (10) (figure 3) for mounting the support shaft (11) of the fork (12) in which the wheel (1).

The footrest (5) comprises means that block it in its position of use, which consist of a tensioner formed by a screw (13) articulated by its head (14) on a transverse axis (15) (figure 4) through holes (16) of a posterior longitudinal prominence (17) of the footrest (5) and presenting an end slit (18). To this screw is coupled a cylindrical nut (19) that constitutes the axis of a knob (20) with cam (21), and has a spring (22) and washers (23) and (24) threaded (figure 4).

In the locking position of the footrest (5) the screw (13) fits into an upper slot (25) of a plate (26) fixed to the rear of the ends of the legs (3) and (4).

The rotation of the support shaft (11) can be blocked by means of a pawl (27) with two axial positions that has an outer knob (28) and an inner shaft (29) that, in the locked position, penetrates into a hole (30) of said support shaft (11) (figure 4).

This support shaft (11) is installed in the extension (9) of the footrest with the arrangement of bearings (31) and (32) and is secured by means of a nut protected with a cap (33).

The front wheel (1) has disc braking means (34) actuated by cable (35).

The invention, within its essentiality, can be put into practice in other embodiments that differ only in detail from that indicated solely by way of example, to which the protection sought will also be achieved.
