DESCRIPTION
Extreme frame with multidirectional signal for vehicles with 2, 4 or more wheels.
The present invention considers and has as its main object a supporting carcass frame with incorporated multidirectional optical signal, which describes the different transit maneuvers from a single point, and is attached to the sides, where the limit points of the width of the same are located. . Left and right coincident points in a view in both a front and a rear view on vehicles with 2, 4, or more wheels.
As we know in all types of vehicle approved for circulation, they incorporate pilot lights to give information on the usual traffic maneuvers, to indicate the stop, the change of direction, the starting of the reverse gear, the fog light, in general they form the same block and also operate as intermittent signals in emergency cases.
These pilots and according to their function are located at the rear and front of the vehicle equidistant from the central axis and almost always at the angles of the body, in front and behind the wheels and at a lower height than the plane of vision of the drivers who They must divert their attention from the normal driving plane for a moment to know the intention of the person around them to maneuver. Another difficulty is that the function of the signals is diminished in rain, fog, or on dirt roads due to the cloud that forms behind the wheels as they pass, or in snowfalls.
In addition, if 2,3 or more vehicles are inserted in the same lane of traffic, one covers the other, interrupting the signal and we do not know what the first in line will do, so it is the cut-out, front or rear silhouette the closest vehicle we know. Fig. 12. This last situation produces the so-called accordion effect that slows down traffic on the roads and makes the reaction time to stop the last of the group dangerously shorter or non-existent, a factor in almost all crashes in a chain, adding the other difficulties, serious problems occur. accidents, especially when changing lanes and / or direction due to the lack of adequate information on the side flanks, especially for motorcycles that circulate between lanes. Fig. 11.
A solution with advantages to these problems is the luminous housing frame to which we refer, which as a novelty incorporates a multidirectional signal, which allows us to emit signals from a single point simultaneously, in front, behind and the lateral side at the same time, covering widely and exceeding the minimum angles required for the usual signals that it complements.
Its retroluminous effect being fundamental, because it enhances the signals from the side towards the back.
The frame with the multi-signal is located starting from the central longitudinal axis at the most protruding side end on each side of the body, on the side rear-view units, the novelty is that it has a free view on the sides and that it is not interfered with even by the own bodywork, or that of other vehicles that circulate on the same axle. Since it has the great advantage that it is projected into the vacuum, wrapping and fitting perfectly adapted to the projecting tips (30) of the rear-view units, whether of any optical system, TV cameras or mirror systems, thus oversizing the width of the silhouette. front and rear of the vehicle at the same time. Fig. 12.
Other solutions are intended to be given to these difficulties, but in a partial way, with high costs of replacements and impractical modifications and never considering the multidirectional sense, nor similar to that given by the novel multi-signal backlight frame presented here.
According to the research, we can cite documents GB-A-2266870, WO-A-8901425 and US-A-4661800 in these solutions, the signal dangerously affects the driver's eyes, the signal angle is not homologated and they do not contemplate its construction as a replaceable module part of the casing. And in GB 1210061, US 4475100, US 5059015, DE9417510.U1 the light shines directly into the driver's eyes, in some there is no independence of the movement of the moon and housing, or the light comes out directly from the moon like AR 177959, oriented with concentrating means and slats, or even PCT US94.03363 with a treatment of miniature orienting tablets, consider the signal in only one direction, backwards and at a reduced angle, Even with the wet moon they are equally dangerous because the light still hits the driver's eyes and makes part of the mirror useless.
Other partial solutions consider the turn signal in the blind spots of worse vision, they only take into account a direction of light emission, the front one, they are not homologous, in addition the complexity of installation and replacement of parts significantly increases their cost for a result that remains. beforehand.
The retroluminous housing frame presents the innovation of being an independent unit, a module that does not interfere with the function of the mirror, but that adapts and integrates into a single unit with two very different functions, one to receive mirror images and the other to emit signals. in a multidirectional way, separated by a partition wall that creates a controlled area of shade so that the light does not affect the driver. Its original design contemplates a perfect coupling system rooted in a single body, both parts.
What is new is the meaning that the light sub-assembly gives to the side flanks of the vehicles, with its use the perimeter areas, Fig. 9, gain prominence due to the new light function that gives more safety in all kinds of maneuvers, since it includes a Multidirectional sign that complements the existing ones on the front and rear, thus composing a new system of signs and lights with more image in all directions, more effective and safe as a whole.
The novelty is to be able to easily incorporate these signals in the existing mirrors; and also the option in the new vehicles to include it in the original design in a block as more complete series equipment, thus represents advantages due to its simplified realization and also low production costs.
Its constructive characteristics mark a true inventive sense, because its body is hollow, and its volume can vary, which is pro2
ES 2 139 486 B1 duct of the difference between a concave face that contacts the end of the mirror to which it is expressly integrated, and a convex outer face, preferably made of translucent and resistant material, of the regulatory colors of the optical signals -luminous and / or reflective (cat's eye or holographic) according to functions.
Another innovation is the indicator light that emits through holes inside the rear view unit and illuminates with low intensity a small semi-opaque frosted translucent area on the mirror glass. Fig. 8.
Inside, the frame houses bulbs or lighting systems of LED's, neon, laser or similar with their respective reflective and limiting surfaces, which allow giving an angle of light to each signal, it has an electrical power supply system, a branch of the general circuit of the vehicle and its commands, being able to feed on alternative energies as the case may be.
For a better understanding, it is explained in detail in the attached drawings, according to a prototype model of this invention.
- Figures 1 and 2 are the front and rear view of the multidirectional signal module.
- Fig. 3 is a section on the AA axis of Figs. 1 and 2 that shows the internal constitution of the exposed model.
- Figures 4 and 5 give a perspective view where the rooted fit between the retroluminous casing frame and the rear-view unit can be seen, forming an integral design block.
- Figures 6 and 7 are variations of style up or down, but they always retain the partition (6) and (13) that separates the light zone (100) from the shadow zone for the driver (200).
- Fig. 8 shows us a detail of the partition (6) and (13) and the outputs of the indicator light (4) and (5).
- Fig. 9 shows us in plan cut on the longitudinal axis of a car (50), the area of side impact that produces the new multidirectional signal (100) and the area of the driver (200).
- In Fig. 10 also shows the planes on the side that the multidirectional signal is projected that goes from:
Plane X = 0 to planes X = + - 1; plane Y = 0 to plane Y = -1; and with a maximum projection in height on Plane Z = 15 °. (The center of the X, Y, Z = 0 axes is taken as the average center of the illuminating surface of the signal module in the side mirror).
- Fig. 11 shows the multidirectional direction of the signals in the practice.
- Fig. 12 marks the extreme points (30) where the signal is emitted in silhouette, visible even in a caravan.
As seen in the graphs, the retroluminous frame object of the present invention is characterized by presenting, as a base, a body (1) that arises from the difference between the surfaces (2) concave or interior light and (3) the convex or outer.
The inner fixing surface presents a system based on self-adhesive areas (8) and adjustment points by pressure screws (9), in addition to the wrapping curb of adaptable material (7), together they form a stable fixing system that eliminates The three degrees of freedom and all vibrations also allow it to pass the usual pendulum shock test on the side mirrors. Asó the light module is attached and completes the end of the mirror, respecting the line of the original design as a smooth and uniform integral piece, passing the surface test with the 5mm sphere, and it was fixed to the body on one side and free. for the other; maintaining the concept of two functions in a single block, on the one hand, image functions (mirror or video camera) and on the other, light functions.
The outer surface (3) made up of a pump part and outlets of translucent and resistant material, transmits the light functions of the regulatory colors, normally (4) red area for the stop sign and (5) yellow for the turn signal in the convenient anterior, lateral, and posterior sense. The interior windows (4) and (5) emit a low intensity operating indicator light through holes and onto a translucent area frosted in the mirror. The surface (5 bis) of reflective material, or holographic, is a self-adhesive termination sheet to hide the screws and can carry a graphic design or advertising mark.
It is noteworthy that the multidirection of the signals transmitted by the surfaces (4), (5) and (5 bis) when illuminated range from 0° loved by the 220° as a whole, as can be seen in arrows A and B of section AA and Fig. 5, but this angular magnitude, even in different planes, never affects the driver's eyes since the septum (13) was specifically designed to separate a light area (100) of a shadow cone for the conductor (200) and has a more protruding surface (6) than the illuminating surfaces (4) and (5).
The internal cavities house the bulbs or lighting system according to the type proposed for each model as type (12) with its corresponding bulb holder and contacts (11) and are connected to the electrical circuit of the vehicle through the cable (10) in the usual way, being able in the case of simple vehicles to have a battery powered car or any other autonomous power source.
Due to its location, this novelty allows two functions in the rear view mirror, that of vision and that of emitting complementary signals and similar to those existing in the rear and front of the vehicle, normally stop, intermittent, parking, door open warning, fog light. , reversing light and others included in the multidirectional direction according to Fig. 9. But since the backlight module coincides with the most protruding end of the body at the sides and its width limit, it offers us greater lateral presence and new functions.
ES 2 139 486 B1 to be able to indicate the maneuver not only to the nearest vehicle, but to 2, 3, or more vehicles that circulate behind or ahead in the same lane; especially great value for motorcycles that travel between lanes. Figures 9, and 11.
Another advantage is that by being close to the level of vision of the drivers, the information is obtained before and without diverting the view, then time is saved and allows the entire line to react earlier, reducing the accordion effect and chain crashes. Asó the driving is more rested and safe. Fig. 12.
This low-cost, easy-to-mount invention complements existing signals and pilots and together improve the safety and fluidity of traffic in general.
Everything that does not alter, change or affect the essence of the described retroluminous frame, will be variable for the purposes of this invention patent.
