DESCRIPTION
The present invention patent relates to a high security syringe, in that it offers several joint safety features that prevent reuse of the syringe.
There are few different types of syringes that were created lately.
Inventing a syringe that becomes unusable after a first use is not what can represent something truly complicated but the following factors must be taken into consideration:
- Simplicity in the structure of the syringe, therefore easy to use for the user.
- Very low manufacturing cost, at the same minimum and even cheaper than some existing syringes, (this is the case of the invention presented).
- It must be truly unusable after a first use, and this fact must be absolutely inescapable, that is, totally independent of the user's will.
- Its operation should not start from some complicated elements; the piece becomes more expensive and above all it allows the malicious user, that the more sophisticated mechanisms are available, the more possibilities exist to sabotage them; therefore, it necessarily implies a simple creation, which in its same structure, entails incorporating the appropriate “antimenoscabos”.
It is clear that if you want to respect these four important factors, it is not about whether or not it is complicated, but about getting together the qualities described in a single and simple invention.
For the best understanding of the safety syringe object of the present patent, some explanatory figures are attached.
Figures 1 and 2 are respectively a longitudinal section and an exterior view with partial section of the cylinder and piston respectively.
Figure 3 shows a longitudinal section of the syringe before use.
Figures 4 and 5 correspond to two details in section showing the syringe during its use and after its use, respectively.
Figure 6 shows in section the operation of one of the safety devices of the syringe object of the present patent.
Figure 7 shows a larger scale detail of the syringe plunger.
As shown in the figures, the syringe object of the present patent is characterized in that inside the cylindrical body (1) a series of internal reliefs are arranged to achieve the safety function, which essentially comprise a first step ( 2) located in the vicinity of the inlet mouth (3) of the syringe body, said step having a cone or entrance ramp (4) and a substantially straight area (5) and perpendicular to the inner surface of the body (1). This scallop is intended to prevent the extraction of the piston assembly which, in the syringe object of the present invention, is previously mounted inside the body (1), being braked by means of a transverse pin (6) connected by a peduncle ( 7) to the body (1) or other similar mechanism to prevent its thorough displacement before use.
Near the outlet end (8) of the body of the east syringe, it has a new step (9) internally also provided with a choic ramp (10) and a straight area (11), following which there is a safety space ( 12) and a new nerve or extreme thickening (13) with its entrance cone or ramp (14).
In correspondence with the aforementioned profiles, the piston comprises a body or driving rod (15) that joins at its inner end to an expandable cap (16) which can be seen in the detail of figure 7. In said figure it can be seen that Said cap (16) has a choic shape, having a posterior flange (17) of a straight type or with a slight taper. Said cap (16) is of the expandable type due to its own elasticity, thus acting as a piston when adjusted to the inner surface of the body (1) of the syringe. The union of said cap (16) with the rod (15) is made through an area of restricted and controlled thickness (18) of the joint between said cap and the terminal (19) that extends from the end of the rod (15) . The thin area (18) is preferably achieved by performing the recast (20) on the front face (21) of said cap (16).
By means of the arrangement shown, it will be achieved that once the piston has been fully inserted, as shown in figure 5, for the expulsion of the liquid, the piston can no longer be extracted again for the reuse of the syringe by the interposition of the flange ( 17) against the straight part of the step (9). In fact, if it persists in the attempt to extract the piston, it will break in the area of the narrowing (18), as shown in Figure 6, remaining unusable.
The following summarizes some of the most important aspects of the new high-security syringe that is the subject of this invention patent.
Manufacturing:
Very important is the fact that this new syringe is only of TWO molds. For a massive manufacturing such as in this article is the case because its essential use is considered, a few songs for molds or additional manipulations will mean in the term of large productions, some differences of several million.
Apparent Structure:
As can be seen, the apparent structure of this syringe does not differ from the existing one; The inventor considers it important not to change the customs that people have too much, and it must be ensured that a simple adaptation is accepted and applied almost by their own spontaneous reflection.

Security Space:
With regard to the fact that the plunger is, before use, removed from a few millimeters, it is precisely what allows this syringe to have the four qualities mentioned above. The value-conscious user, which for their own good, these qualities may suppose, may not be reluctant to quickly get used to the new syringe having this position before use.
For other users who are not interested in having a syringe serve once, it is clear that although certain reluctance may be expressed in this regard, they have no alternative but to use this new unavoidable prevention syringe; If syringe want to need to use.
The plunger:
Its conicity allows a perfect adaptation inside the cylinder. The studied thickness of the cone, makes it possible to correctly impel or extract the liquid, at the same time, its adequate flexibility means that it can smoothly cross the ramps, and have enough resistance to be blocked in the projections provided.
In the center of its outer board, this cone has a weakening of precision, which allows its easy breakage when trying to push or pull it in the planned blocking areas.
Imposiblé ménoscabo:
Undermining the securities provided for in this new syringe means, for those who try, to disable it; the piston being the most delicate part, it is also the important part, which is why there are four safety devices designed only for the piston in this syringe.
First safety: Like any other, this syringe will leave the factory with the piston already in the cylinder. At ONE centimeter inside the base of the cylinder, there is a projection studied in such a way, which allows during assembly that the piston can only enter the cylinder once, but can not leave without breaking.
However, if with a lot of trickery, the pistoén was removed and an attempt was made to cut the circumference of the cone that forms the piston so that it cannot be blocked to the projections of the inner end of the cylinder, this cunning will not work either, since it would simply be to remove this function from its piston, which consists precisely in being adjusted to the cylinder in order to extract or impel the desired liquid.
Second security: If you try to pull the piston to remove the piston once it is in the security space, the cone will tear from the stem, being broken and absolutely unusable.
Third security: If instead of pulling the piston, you try to recover it intact, pushing with a sharp hole through the exit hole of the liquid located at the end of the cylinder, the breakage effect will occur automatically as in the previous two cases.
Fourth security: this last and very important security, is explained in the chapter Impiblé Reuse.
The ramps and their outgoing:
Both the studied design of the ramps (6) and (10) as well as that of the brake ramp (14), make it possible for the piston to be smoothly movable, and can be able to pass the projections intended for blocking without using them.
The progressive and slight pressure that must be given to the pistoén does not make it difficult at all to be able to make the injection correctly and without any pain. The safety plug: This outdoor safety plug has two functions:
Priméro: prevents that from its manufacture until the user uses it, the piston can be blocked, thus leaving the syringe unusable.
Second: it is advisable not to remove this plug when blood is drawn, for the reasons that obviously should be provided, as is usually done with any other syringe. Impossible Reuse:
Some user who would like to reuse this new syringe, will encounter important, serious and unavoidable inconveniences:
After extracting the “substance” that you want to inject, I will not remove the air contained in the safety space, I will try to inject only the “substance”, thinking that if the piston was stopped at the limit of the space, I would have been able to use this syringe like any other existing in the market.
This kind of user, will realize immediately, that if he has not purged his syringe and for the inclination that he should give it, especially for intravenous injection, not only will he be injecting this air that he did not want to extract, but the The safety space will be filled automatically with the "substance" that the syringe may contain.
It seems obvious that if due to the incomprehensible whim of wanting to reuse this new syringe, this user takes his dare to run the risk of injecting air into the vein and also disregard a few millimeters of his precious and expensive "substance" could be this, the only way that this syringe can be reused, but unfortunately for this kind of user, there is no way that this syringe can be used several times, and this, however dare this user may have.
Fourth security:
Respecting the kind of material approved especially for this article, and according to the characteristics of the same as in the form that can be given, the inventor managed to ensure that this piston can not fulfill more functions than are required to properly make an injection .
The more often the piston moves forward and backward, the more it will lose its effectiveness as a piston, that is, the cone will close until I can impede or extract any liquid.
Being this very ductile material, you could give it a new shape with your fingers so that it could continue doing its piston function, but to be able to touch this piston, it should be removed from the cylinder, which is impossible to do without breaking it.
Therefore, the supposed and hypothetical possibility of reuse entails in itself some risks that make the attempt to be withdrawn because it is not attractive, less compensatory and despite persisting in this line, it would not result in a positive purpose.

As for the normal use made by the practitioners of this syringe, it is difficult to imagine that any of these professionals ignores the danger of injecting air into the patient, or the inefficiency that it turns out to be, not injecting the full dose of a prescribed drug.
Another feature of this new syringe, is that it can undoubtedly be manufactured in all sizes and types that require the different uses to which it is intended.
In summary:
In the face of the fundamental qualities that characterize this invention, it is logical to understand that the user gets used to respecting the 0.5 cm blocking space, which can perfectly be of another measure; There are no particular explanations for the use of this new syringe, since its operation is identical to any other existing one.
Offering, therefore, a perfect and true assurance that this new syringe is really usable only once, it is in the author's opinion, to be able to contribute towards social welfare, a solution so that the syringe problem ceases to be direct or indirectly, a constant threat to all.
Anything that does not affect, alter, change or modify the essence of the syringe described will be variable for the purposes of this Patent.
