DESCRIPTION
Regulating valve for a gas cooking appliance.
Technical sector
The present invention refers to gas taps that incorporate a rotary valve with frusto-conical regulation, mounted on a gas cooking appliance, and with the means for adjusting the degree of flow according to the family of fuel gas used.
Prior state of the art
Gas taps are known for domestic cooking appliances that use a single valve to regulate the flow of two different families of gas such as natural gas (NG) and or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).
ES1059642U describes a gas tap for a domestic cooking appliance, with a frustoconical regulating member coupled to a drive shaft and a rotary control knob. Said control, through its rotation, is capable of supplying different gas flows, of any of the two different types of gas (NG or LPG), between two limit angular positions. The limit angular position for the minimum flow rate is different for the cooking appliance that uses the NG gas type than for the one that uses the LPG gas type. To do this, the appropriate control button (which is interchangeable on the drive shaft) must first be selected for each type of gas. As a means of limiting the rotation, the control button suitable for using the GN fuel type incorporates a projection that is guided in a groove in the mounting panel. The control button suitable for using the type of LPG fuel does not have a protrusion incorporated.
Presentation of the invention
The object of the invention is to provide a gas regulation valve for cooking appliances that use a single valve to regulate the flow of two different gas families such as NG and LPG without the need to exchange the knob.
The gas cooking appliances for which the regulating valve of the invention is adapted can be fed by different types of fuel gas such as, for example, natural gas (NG) or liquefied gas (LPG). Said regulating valve comprises:
-. a valve body,
-. a regulatory body, and
-. a drive shaft.
The rotary regulating member is housed in the valve body and has a plurality of inlet holes that by turning the same, the inlet holes are faced with a gas inlet conduit. Between the inlet ports there is a first radial inlet port with minimum flow rate (Qmin) corresponding to a first type of fuel gas, and a second radial inlet port of minimum flow rate corresponding to a second type of fuel gas, both inlet ports being arranged in contiguous angular positions. The second inlet port follows the first inlet port.
The drive shaft rotates integral with the regulating member and has a projection that determines the end of the angular travel of the regulating member when it interacts with an end of travel stop for the minimum flow rate (Qmin). The valve body also has a stop that acts as a limit switch for the minimum flow. Said end of travel corresponds to the angular position of the regulating member in which the second inlet orifice faces the gas inlet duct.
The regulating valve of the invention also comprises a stop element that can be arranged in an active position or in a rest position. In the active position, the stop element acts as an end-of-travel stop for a minimum flow rate and in this position the regulating member remains in an angular arrangement in which the first inlet hole faces the gas inlet duct. In the rest position, the stop element does not act as a limit stop for the minimum flow.
In this simple way, by varying the position of the stop element, a gas cooking appliance can work with the same regulation valve regardless of the type of fuel used, NG or LPG., Thus avoiding an adjustment of the minimum flow rate (Qmin) complicated.
These and other advantages and characteristics of the invention will become apparent in view of the figures and the detailed description of the invention.

Detailed statement of the invention
A gas cooking appliance can be of two kinds depending on the type of gas used from an external source GAS IN, natural gas (NG) or liquefied gas (LPG).
A preferred embodiment of a regulating valve 1 for a gas cooking appliance according to Figures 1 and 2 comprises the following elements:
-. a valve body 2,
-. a rotating regulatory body 6, and
-. a drive shaft 7.
The regulating member 6 is housed in the valve body 2 and has a plurality of inlet holes that by turning the same, the inlet holes are faced with a gas inlet conduit 4, thus supplying a flow rate "Q" to through an outlet conduit 5, which is directed towards a burner of the gas cooking appliance (not represented in the drawings).
The drive shaft 7 rotates integral with the regulating member 6 and has a projection 9 that determines the end of the angular travel of the regulating member 6 when it interacts with an end-of-travel stop for the minimum flow rate (Qmin). The valve body 2 also has a stop that acts as a limit switch for the minimum flow. Said end of travel corresponds to the angular position of the regulating member 6 in which the second inlet orifice faces the gas inlet duct (4). At the free end of the drive shaft 7 a control button is mounted (not represented in the drawings) and which is unique for the two families of gas GN and LPG.
The regulating valve 1 of the invention also comprises a stop element 10 that can be arranged in an active position or in a rest position.
In the preferred embodiment of figure 1, the regulating valve 1 is closed, that is to say, in the OFF position.
In figure 3, the active position of element 10 is represented. Said stop element 10 acts as an end-of-stroke stop for a minimum flow rate (Qmin). In this position the regulating member 6, previously driven by the drive shaft 7, rotates and rotates an angle A.2 from an initial angular position OFF as shown in figure 5, remaining in an angular arrangement in which the first inlet orifice is facing the inlet duct 4 of gas. This embodiment is suitable for gas fuel (NG).
In figure 4, the rest position of the element 10 is represented. In this position, the stop element 10 does not act as a limit stop for the minimum flow rate (Qmin). This embodiment is suitable for gas fuel (LPG). Although in this embodiment the stop element 10 remains housed in the valve body 2, an embodiment is possible in which, in the rest position, the stop element 10 is removed from the valve 1.
In this simple way, that is, by varying the position of the stop element 10, a gas cooking appliance can work with the same regulating valve 1 regardless of the type of fuel used, NG or LPG, thus avoiding an adjustment of the regulating organ. 6 complicated and reducing the need for qualified personnel.
The valve body 2 of the regulating valve 1 of the invention comprises a main body 3 and a cover 8. In the cover 8 there is a housing 11 where the stop element 10 is located. In a preferred embodiment, the element stop 10 is a screw. To standardize the number of components and reduce the cost of
ES 1 069 849 U valve 1 can be used with the same screw used to join the different components of regulating valve 1.
The housing 11, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, comprises a threaded section and an elongated section, such that the screw does not protrude from the valve body 2 when it is arranged in the rest position.
An example of the rotation angles "A" is shown in figure 5. From an angular position OFF (valve 1 closed) and in a clockwise direction, the regulating organ 6 regulates the supply of different gas flows, maximum flow (Qmax), intermediate flow (Qint) and minimum flow rate (Qmin), depending on the angle “A” rotated. The minimum flow rate (Qmin) supplied by the inlet duct 4 in a GN type appliance, it must be greater than that supplied in a LPG type appliance for a burner of equal power in both cases.
In the embodiment shown in the figures, and as detailed in figure 5, the regulating member 6 rotates up to an angle "A1", to supply a maximum flow rate (Qmax) of any GN or LPG gas. If the rotation of the regulating member 6 continues, an intermediate flow (Qint). The flow rate Qint, being less than Qmax, is descending as a function of the angle “A” rotated, until it meets a stop at the end of the route where the flow supplied will be Qmin. If the stop element 10 is in the active position, according to FIG. 3, the angular position of the end of travel of the regulating member 6 will be "A2". In this position, the inlet duct 4 and the first radial inlet orifice, of calibrated diameter, face each other for a minimum flow rate (Qmin) of GN. On the contrary, if the stop element 10 is in the rest position, according to FIG. 4, the angular position of the end of travel of the regulating member 6 will be "A3". In this position, the inlet duct 4 and the second radial inlet orifice, of calibrated diameter, face each other for a minimum flow rate (Qmin) of LPG.
