Case for digital video discs, compact discs and the like with device for retention and release of the improved disc.

The present invention relates to a case for magnetic record carrier media in the form of discs such as digital video discs (DVDs) or compact discs (DC) and the like having an improved disc retention / release device.

Various cases of this type are known today, the most widely disclosed being the cases for DC audio and data and software.

According to the state of the art, these cases comprise in their central part a protruding formation for fitted or adjusted coupling of the disc through its central hole. The protruding formation is deformable to compression, so that the disk can be released from its fitted coupling, exerting a pressure on said protrusion.

As it would be appreciated by the technicians an outgoing formation of the referred type, it has a structure that was perfectly adapted to be manufactured in molding processes of the plastic materials that form the walls of the case integrally with said walls.

By means of the application for utility model No. 9800126 also in the name of the applicant, a case of this type is known where a button with lateral branches configured in L is provided, as well as retention teeth in the form of a beak with input and output angles with different and appropriate inclinations to achieve the expulsion of the disc in cooperation with circumferential projections for supporting the outer edge so that it is slightly flexed radially.

According to various tests and tests, the applicant has reached the conclusion that an L configuration of the lateral branches as described in the prior art, has the disadvantage that the areas of union or transition between the lateral branches with the bottom wall of the case, they can present after a certain number of pulsations on the button, plastic deformations, that is, not recoverable from the material, so that after prolonged use the functioning of the retention and release device described may be impaired.

It is the purpose of the present invention to develop a device of the aforementioned type that allows solving said inconvenience in order to achieve a durable and safe use device.

This task is achieved from a case according to the preamble of the first claim, and in which, according to the invention, the lateral branches that connect the button or button with the bottom wall of the case have a first portion next to the push button generally in a straight oangle and a second portion that extends to the bottom wall of the case forming with it an acute oangule less than 30^°.

With this simple measure, the material of the lateral branches in the aforementioned transition zones or junction to the button and bottom wall, do not undergo permanent plastic deformations that impair their lasting operation.

Other features and advantages of the invention, would result more clearly from the following description made with the help of the accompanying drawings referring to an example of non-limiting execution and in which:

A video case of which only its bottom wall 1 is represented, was configured as described in the aforementioned application for a utility model similar to a case for videotapes, that is to say with a lid or pastes articulated around a central portion or spine, with circumferential projections (not shown) also being configured in said bottom wall to support the edge or outer periphery of the disk for the purpose described therein.

As is known in the bottom wall 1, a protuberance 2 with upper surface 2a is formed in which a push button 3 with a beak-shaped retention tooth 5 with suitably inclined inlet and outlet surfaces is formed to facilitate retention. , as well as the release in conjunction with a perimeter projection (not shown) of the bottom wall 1 on which the compact or similar disk is supported with slight radial flexion and lateral branches or provided between said button and 1 bottom stop 1 .

According to the invention, the aforementioned materal branches or extending between the button 3 and the upper surface 2a of said cylindrical protuberance 2, consist of a first ooa section, close to button 3, in a straight angle with an oc notch in half channel and a second oob portion extending between said first portion and the upper surface 2a of the cylindrical protuberance 2 forming with it an aongle B not greater than 30^°.

With this simple measure, the flexural behavior of the aforementioned lateral branches is significantly improved, so that permanent deformations are no longer produced or produced in very small measure, especially in transitional areas with the bottom wall 1 in which the flexioon solicitations are greater.

As it will be easily appreciated by technicians, this device has a structure especially suitable for being configured in plastic molding processes integrally with the bottom wall of a box-shaped case.
