DESCRIPTION
Double plate composed of glass.
Object of the invention
The invention relates to a double plate composed of glass, which is formed by two external glass lamines and three intermediate films, two of butyral and a third of polyester or other plastics, forming a constituent assembly of a transparent or not large plate impact resistance and usable in decoration, works, vehicle windows, etc.
Background of the invention
The glass plates used until now for decoration, works, or for application in vehicles, are usually made up of two 6 mm glass lamines. thick, which are joined together by means of an intermediate sheet or butyral film, the joint is made by applying heat and pressure.
Glass plates constituted in the manner just said, offer a high resistance to the impact of stones, blows, etc., hence their great profusion and use. However, they pose a weight problem, due to the considerable thickness of the glass lamines, in addition to the impact resistance being limited. Description of the invention
The composite glass plate that has been recommended has been designed to solve this problem to full satisfaction, offering a structure based on the use of two glass sheets and two butyral films, but also incorporating a third polyester film, for example , so that the very tangentially superficial bond of the polyester to the butyral and the respective glasses, It allows to obtain a plate whose impact resistance is much higher than the conventional one, at the same time as it makes possible the use of glass slides of smaller thickness than the conventional ones, being able to use 4 mm lamines. thick, instead of 6 mm. that carry the conventional lamines, where the weight of the whole is greatly reduced.
As is conventional, the glasses can be tinted, carry appropriate treatments, etc., although the most convenient, for the ease and economy that this entails, is that the polyester lamella is dyed in mass and gives the whole a different color. Undoubtedly the butyral can also be had, so that in one way or another, noble characteristics such as opal, smoked, colored or spectacular effects of medium light reflection or filtering are conferred on the glass.
The most remarkable advantages of the structure corresponding to the composite glass plate object of the invention can be summarized in the following:
- Considerable lower cost of obtaining with respect to traditional plates for the same purposes.
- Increase in benefits.
- Considerable saving in weight (one third) compared to conventional plates, being able to use 4 mm glass plates. thick, instead of 6 mm. that glass lamines must have for the formation of conventional plates.
- Simplification of the structure and manufacturing costs.
- By virtue of the difference in weight and thickness with respect to a conventional glass plate in case of use as a car window, it was much more proactive in all aspects, both assembly and handling, etc.
Description of the drawings
To complement the description that was being made and in order to help a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, a set of drawings is attached hereto as an integral part thereof, with an illustrative and non-limiting character The following has been represented:
Figure 1.- Shows a general perspective in projection of the different pieces or parts that form the composite glass plate object of the invention.
Figure 2. - Shows a cross section of the composite glass plate and obtained by means of the elements represented in the previous figure.
Preferred realization of the invention
As can be seen in these figures, the plate composed of glass that is recommended, was formed by two glass lamellae (1), equal to each other, being transparent oses and of a thickness of 4 mm. in front of 6 mm. which incorporate conventional glass lamines to obtain composite plates in their different uses, such as for use in car windows, such as decoration plates, etc.
In any case, between these two plates or glass lamines (1), three other sheets or films (2) and (3) of considerably smaller thickness are arranged, the film (2) being polyester or any other plastics material, while that the films (3) are from butyral.
The laminate formed by these five sheets or pieces is subjected to a pressure and heat to carry out the last bond of great impact resistance and of considerable lower thickness with respect to the conventional plates used for the same purposes.
It goes without saying that according to the application of the plate, the glass lamines (1) could be subjected to different treatments, as well as colorations or tinting, etc., although the films (2) oó (3) could also be also colored so that the plate as a whole offers the desired appearance without the need for treatment or tinting of the external glass sheets (1), resulting in much more easy, It is economical and advantageous to color or treat any of these films of polyester or other plastics (2) or butyral (3).
