20 claims: 3 independent, 17 dependent

  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2019199435 A1 CLAIMS:1. An ottoman for an aircraft seat, the ottoman comprising: a guide assembly configured to couple to a frame of the aircraft seat, the guide assembly including a guide and a slide that is translatable along the guide;a foot platform coupled to the slide;and an actuator assembly configured to selectively translate the slide along the guide to reposition the foot platform between a stowed position and a deployed position, the actuator assembly including: an actuator;and an arm defining a first interface coupled to the slide and a second interface coupled to the actuator, wherein engagement of the actuator causes the arm to pivot and move the slide along the guide.
  2. 2
The ottoman of Claim 1, wherein the guide defines a translation axis, and wherein the translation axis is angled relative to a vertical axis such that, as the slide translates along the guide, the foot platform moves both vertically and horizontally.
  3. 3
The ottoman of Claim 2, wherein an angle between the translation axis and the vertical axis is at most ten degrees.
  4. 4
The ottoman of Claim 2, wherein an angle between the translation axis and the vertical axis is at least ten degrees.
  5. 5
The ottoman of Claim 1, wherein the foot platform includes a horizontal portion and an angled portion extending downward from the horizontal portion at an angle.
  6. 6
The ottoman of Claim 5, wherein the horizontal portion and the angled portion are separate components coupled together by a support.
  7. 7
The ottoman of Claim 1, further comprising a bracket having a first plate and a second plate extending from the first plate, wherein the first plate is coupled to the foot platform and the second plate is coupled to the slide and the first interface of the arm.
  8. 8
The otoman of Claim 7, wherein the actuator assembly further includes a pivotable coupler configured to pivotally couple the second interface of the arm to the second plate of the bracket.
  9. 9
The otoman of Claim 1, wherein the foot platform is selectivelyrepositionable to any position between the stowed position and a fully-deployed position.
  10. 10
The otoman of Claim 1, wherein the actuator assembly further includes a pivotable coupler configured to couple to the frame of the aircraft seat, wherein the arm defines a third interface configured to engage the pivotable coupler, and wherein the arm pivots about the pivotable coupler.
  11. 11
An aircraft seating unit comprising:a base configured to couple to a deck of an aircraft;a seat coupled to the base;a housing coupled to the base and enclosing frame elements of at least one of the base and the seat, wherein the housing defines a recess;and an otoman disposed within the recess, the otoman including a platform that is selectively deployable from the recess from a stowed position to a deployed position.
  12. 12
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 11, wherein the ottoman further includes:a guide assembly coupled to one of the frame elements of the aircraft seating unit, the guide assembly including a guide and a slide that is translatable along the guide, wherein the platform is coupled to the slide;and an actuator assembly configured to selectively translate the slide along the guide to reposition the platform between the stowed position and the deployed position.
  13. 13
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 12, wherein the actuator assembly includes:an actuator;and an arm defining a first interface coupled to the slide and a second interface coupled to the actuator, wherein engagement of the actuator causes the arm to pivot and move the slide along the guide.
  14. 14
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 13, wherein the actuator assembly further includes a pivotable coupler coupled to one of the frame elements of the aircraft seating unit, wherein the arm defines a third interface configured to engage the pivotable coupler, and wherein the arm pivots about the pivotable coupler.
  15. 15
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 13, further comprising a bracket having a first plate and a second plate extending from the first plate, wherein the first plate is coupled to the platform and the second plate is coupled to the slide and the first interface of the arm.
  16. 16
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 11, wherein the platform includes a horizontal portion and an angled portion extending downward from the horizontal portion at an angle.
  17. 17
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 11, wherein the platform moves both vertically and horizontally along an angled translation path between the stowed position and the deployed position.
  18. 18
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 11 , wherein the seat is a first seat, the recess is a first recess, and the ottoman is a first ottoman, and wherein the housing defines a second recess, further comprising a second seat coupled to the base and a second ottoman disposed within the second recess, the second ottoman including a second platform that is selectively deployable from the second recess.
  19. 19
The aircraft seating unit of Claim 18, wherein the first ottoman has a first size and the second ottoman has a second size different than the first size.
  20. 20
An ottoman for an aircraft seat, the ottoman comprising:a guide assembly including a guide and a slide that is translatable along the guide;a foot platform coupled to the slide;and an actuator assembly configured to selectively translate the slide along the guide to reposition the foot platform between a stowed position and a deployed position;wherein the guide defines a translation axis that is angled relative to a vertical axis such that, as the slide translates along the guide, the foot platform moves both vertically and horizontally.
