    A method in a wireless local area network, LAN, system, the method performed by a transmitting apparatus and comprising:generating a short training field, STF, signal;and transmitting a physical protocol data unit, PPDU, including the STF signal to a receiving apparatus via 80 MHz band, wherein the STF signal is generated based on a STF sequence defined as {M, 1, -M, 0, -M, 1, -M} ∗ (1+j)/sqrt(2), wherein 'sqrt()' denotes a square root, 'j' denotes an imaginary number, and '*' denotes multiplication, wherein the M sequence is defined as {-1, -1, -1, 1, 1, 1, -1, 1, 1, 1, -1, 1, 1, -1, 1}, and wherein the STF sequence is positioned at intervals of 16 tones starting from a lowest tone having a tone index of -496 and ending at a highest tone having a tone index of +496.

    A transmitting apparatus in a wireless local area network, LAN, system, comprising:a memory;and a processor coupled to the memory and configured to: generate a short training field, STF, signal;and transmit a physical protocol data unit, PPDU, including the STF signal to a receiving apparatus via 80 MHz band, wherein the STF signal is generated based on a STF sequence defined as {M, 1, -M, 0, -M, 1, -M} ∗ (1+j)/sqrt(2), wherein 'sqrt()' denotes a square root, 'j' denotes an imaginary number, and ' ∗ ' denotes multiplication, wherein the M sequence is defined as {-1, -1, -1, 1, 1, 1, -1, 1, 1, 1, -1, 1, 1, -1, 1}, and wherein the STF sequence is positioned at intervals of 16 tones starting from a lowest tone having a tone index of -496 and ending at a highest tone having a tone index of +496.
