Filtering method, moving image decoding method, moving image encoding method, moving image decoding apparatus, moving image encoding apparatus, and moving image encoding/decoding apparatus

Abstract

A filtering method according to the present invention is for performing deblocking filtering on the boundary between an IPCM block and a non-IPCM block adjacent to each other in an image and including: determining a first quantization parameter for the non-IPCM block (S401); determining a second quantization parameter for the IPCM block, using the first quantization parameter (5402); determining a filter strength for the boundary, using the first quantization parameter and the second quantization parameter (S403); and performing the deblocking filtering on the boundary using the determined filter strength (S404).

  1. 1
method for decoding an image on a block-by-block basis from a coded bit stream, said method comprising parsing the coded bit stream to obtain difference information indicating a difference between a quantization parameter for a current block and a quantization parameter for a previous block located immediately before the current block in the processing order, wherein a value of zero is assigned to said difference information when the current block is an Intra Pulse Code Modulation, IPCM, block;determining a quantization parameter for the current block, using the quantization parameter for the previous block and the difference information, irrespective of whether the current block is an IPCM block or a non-Intra Pulse Code Modulation, non-IPCM, block;determining a filter strength of a deblocking filter using an average value of the quantization parameter for the current block and the quantization parameter for the previous block, the filtering strength being determined so as to increase with increasing average value of the quantization parameter in order to absorb a quantization error;and performing deblocking filtering on a boundary between the previous block and the current block using the determined filter strength of the deblocking filter, wherein performing the deblocking filtering comprises determining whether at least either one of the previous block and the current block is an IPCM block and applying the deblocking filtering to pixels of the non-IPCM blocks only.
