    A method performed by a terminal in a wireless communication system using a cooperative multi-point, CoMP, scheme, the method comprising:receiving (1611) configuration information including pairs of parameters to be used to determine a initialization value c init of a demodulation reference signal, DM-RS, random sequence related to physical downlink shared channel, PDSCH, via higher layer signaling, wherein each pair contains a subframe offset value and a X nSCID2 value;receiving control information for scheduling transmission on the PDSCH, the control information comprising a legacy 3-bit field indicating an antenna port, scrambling identity, and number of layers, and a information field with 1 or 2 bit size;and receiving downlink data on the PDSCH based on the initialization value c init of the DM-RS random sequence, wherein the initialization value c init of the DM-RS random sequence is determined as c init = ⌊ n s , n SCID 2 / 2 ⌋ + 1 ⋅ 2 X n SCID 2 + 1 ⋅ 2 16 + n SCID , where: n SCID is determined by the legacy 3-bit field of the control information and takes values between 0 and 1, n SCID 2 is determined by the information field of the control information and takes values among integers in a range of [0, N-1], N=2^(bit size), and n s,nSCID 2 is determined based on the subframe offset value, and wherein one pair of the pairs of the parameters is determined based on the n SCID 2 .
