  1. 1
A method for providing tactile feedback that corresponds to a clock (11102), comprising:displaying (11202) a representation of a clock on a display (450) of an electronic device that has a touch-sensitive surface (451);detecting (11206) an input (11112, 11114) on the touch-sensitive surface causing a focus selector (11104) to be directed to the representation of the clock, wherein the representation of the clock is displayed prior to and while detecting the input;in response to detecting the input, providing (11208) tactile feedback (11110) that corresponds to advancement of time on the clock, wherein the tactile feedback includes a regular pattern of tactile outputs on the touch-sensitive surface that provides an indication of the rate at which time is passing;while providing the tactile feedback, detecting (11224) movement of the input (11116, 11118) causing the focus selector to move away from the representation of the clock;and while continuing to detect the input, in response to detecting that the focus selector is no longer directed to the representation of the clock, ceasing (11226) to provide the tactile feedback corresponding to advancement of time on the clock.
  2. 3
The method of any of claims 1-2, including, while detecting the input on the touch-sensitive surface causing the focus selector to be directed to the representation of the clock:detecting (11220) movement of the input, wherein the focus selector remains directed to the representation of the clock during the movement of the input;and in response to detecting movement of the input, continuing (11224) to provide the tactile feedback corresponding to advancement of time on the clock without changing a period of the regular pattern of tactile outputs.
  3. 4
The method of any of claims 1-3, wherein displaying (11204) the representation of the clock prior to detecting the input includes displaying the representation of the clock without providing the tactile feedback that corresponds to the clock on the touch-sensitive surface.
  4. 5
The method of any of claims 1-3, wherein (11212) the regular pattern of tactile outputs on the touch-sensitive surface includes an alternating sequence of tactile outputs that have different output characteristics.
  5. 8
An electronic device (300), comprising:a display (450);a touch-sensitive surface (451);one or more processors (310);memory (370);and one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for: displaying (11202) a representation of a clock on a display of an electronic device that has a touch-sensitive surface;detecting (11206) an input (11112, 11114) on the touch-sensitive surface causing a focus selector (11104) to be directed to the representation of the clock, wherein the representation of the clock is displayed prior to and while detecting the input;in response to detecting the input, providing (11208) tactile feedback (11110) that corresponds to advancement of time on the clock, wherein the tactile feedback includes a regular pattern of tactile outputs on the touch-sensitive that provides an indication of the rate at which time is passing;while providing the tactile feedback, detecting (11224) movement of the input (11116, 11118) on the touch-sensitive surface causing the focus selector to move away from the representation of the clock;and while continuing to detect the input, in response to detecting that the focus selector is no longer directed to the representation of the clock, ceasing (11226) to provide the tactile feedback corresponding to advancement of time on the clock.
  6. 10
The electronic device of any of claims 8-9, wherein the one or more programs include instructions for, while detecting the input on the touch-sensitive surface causing the focus selector to correspond to the representation of the clock:detecting (11220) movement of the input, wherein the input causes the focus selector to remain directed to the representation of the clock during the movement of the input;and in response to detecting movement of the input, continuing (11224) to provide the tactile feedback corresponding to advancement of time on the clock without changing a period of the regular pattern of tactile outputs.
  7. 11
The electronic device of any of claims 8-10, wherein displaying (11204) the representation of the clock prior to detecting the input includes displaying the representation of the clock without providing the tactile feedback that corresponds to the clock on the touch-sensitive surface.
  8. 12
The electronic device of any of claims 8-10, wherein (11212) the regular pattern of tactile outputs on the touch-sensitive surface includes an alternating sequence of tactile outputs that have different output characteristics.
  9. 13
A computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions which, when executed by an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface, cause the electronic device to perform the method of any of claims 1-7.
