  1. 1
    A method for launching an unmanned rotorcraft (1002, 902, 802) comprising a visual sensor (1305, 1405, 1505, 1705) and one or more rotor blades (201, 801, 901), said method comprising:(a) detecting, by the rotorcraft (1002, 902, 802), a visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) generated by an operator (1001, 1301, 1401, 1501, 1601) of said rotorcraft (1002, 902, 802);and (b) detecting a release of grip of the unmanned rotorcraft (1002, 902, 802) by a hand (906, 1003);and (c) in response to the detected visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) and the release of grip of the unmanned rotorcraft, activating the one or more rotor blades (201, 801, 901) to generate a lift and/or thrust.
  2. 4
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (1002, 902, 802), comprising (a) one or more rotor blades (201, 801, 901);(b) a sensor (1305, 1405, 1505, 1705) configured to detect a visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) generated by an operator (1001, 1301, 1401, 1501, 1601) of said UAV (1002, 902, 802);(c) a sensor configured to detect a release of grip of the UAV (1002, 902, 802);(d) a controller (1810) configured to provide an actuating signal for activating the UAV (1002, 902, 802) in response to the detected visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) and the detected release of grip;and (e) an actuator (911, 1820) configured to cause the one or more rotor blades (201, 801, 901) to move and generate a lift and/or thrust in response to the actuating signal..
  3. 7
A method for landing an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (1002, 902, 802), comprising:(a) detecting a visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) generated by an operator (1001, 1301, 1401, 1501, 1601) of said UAV (1002, 902, 802);and (b) detecting a contact by a hand;and (c) in response to the detected visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) and when the detected contact is sustained for a predetermined period of time, generating a deceleration signal to said UAV (1002, 902, 802) to bring said UAV (1002, 902, 802) to a stop.
  4. 11
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (1002, 902, 802), comprising a sensor configured to detect a visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) generated by an operator (1001, 1301, 1401, 1501, 1601) of said UAV (1002, 902, 802);a sensor configured to detect a contact by a hand;a controller (1810) configured to provide a deactivating signal for decelerating the UAV (1002, 902, 802) in response to the detected visual signal (1310, 1410, 1510) and when the detected contact is sustained over a predetermined period of time;and an actuator (911, 1820) configured to cause said UAV (1002, 902, 802) to decelerate in response to the deactivating signal.
