Sunroof system for a vehicle with rotating drive slide

Abstract

A roof system for a vehicle having a roof opening (1) in a roof part (2) thereof comprises a closure panel (3) which is movable between a closed position and an open position. The closure panel is provided with an operating mechanism (7, 8) allowing the closure panel to pivot and slide. An operating mechanism comprises a front device (7) and a rear device (8). A driving slide (15) is drivable in order to move the closure panel both in vertical and in horizontal direction via the front device (7) and rear device (8). At least one of the front and rear devices (7, 8) comprises a lever (9; 21) which is pivotally and slidably connected to the driving slide (15) or the stationary guide rail (6) through a second pivot pin (11; 23) near the lower end. It is also provided with a first guide cam (12, 13; 24), which is at least partly in engagement with either a stationary guide curve (14) and/or a curve (16; 25) in the driving slide (15). The driving slide (15) is provided with a first driving slide part (15') and a second driving slide part (15"), which are pivotally connected to each other. One (15') of the driving slide parts (15', 15"), that is pivotally and slidably connected to said lever (9; 21), is provided with a guide cam (18) engaging a guide curve (19) in the stationary guide rail (6) in order to force said one driving slide part (15') to pivot with respect to the other driving slide part (15") during at least a part of the sliding movement of the driving slide (15).

  1. 1
Roof system for a vehicle having a roof opening (1) in a roof part (2) thereof, comprising:at least a closure panel (3) which is movable between a closed position in which it closes the roof opening and an open position in which it opens the roof opening and in which it is positioned at least partially above an adjoining portion of the roof part (2, 3'), the closure panel being provided with an operating mechanism (7, 8) allowing the closure panel to pivot and slide;a stationary guide rail (6) at each longitudinal side of said roof opening (1), suitable for slidably guiding an operating mechanism that operates the closure panel (3) in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, said operating mechanism comprising: a front device (7) for supporting and moving the front edge of the closure panel (3) in a vertical direction a rear device (8) for moving the rear edge of the closure panel towards a raised position relative to the closed position and above the adjoining portion of the roof part (2, 3');and a driving slide (15) which is slidably accommodated in each guide rail (6) and is drivable in order to move the closure panel both in vertical and in horizontal direction via the front device (7) and rear device (8);wherein at least one of the front and rear devices (7, 8) comprises a lever (9;21) which is pivotally in engagement with the closure panel (3) by a first pivot pin (10;22) on one end, and is pivotally and slidably connected to the driving slide (15) or the stationary guide rail (6) through a second pivot pin (11;23) near the opposite end, and is provided with at least a first guide cam (12, 13;24), which is at least partly in engagement with either a stationary guide curve (14) and/or a curve (16;25) in the driving slide (15), wherein the driving slide (15) is provided with a first driving slide part (15') and a second driving slide part (15"), which are movably, preferably pivotally connected to each other, characterized in that at least one (15') of the driving slide parts (15', 15"), that is pivotally and slidably connected to said lever (9;21), is provided with a guide cam (18) engaging a guide curve (19) in the stationary guide rail (6) in order to force said one driving slide part (15') to pivot with respect to the other driving slide part (15") during at least a part of the sliding movement of the driving slide (15).
  2. 4
Roof system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein the second pivot (11;23) of the lever (9;21) is engaging a guide curve (16, 25) in the driving slide. (Fig. 2, 5 - 8)
  3. 9
Roof system according to any of claims 1 - 8, wherein the first driving slide part (15') is pivotally connected to the second driving slide part (15") near its rear end. (Fig. 2, 3, 8)
  4. 10
Roof system according to any of claims 1 - 8, wherein the first driving slide part (15') is pivotally connected to the second driving slide part (15") near its front end. (Fig. 4 - 7)
