    A system comprising an electronic client device and an electronic user device; the electronic client device comprising:one or more transceivers (1805, 1855) for receiving and transmitting wireless signals, wherein a transceiver (1805, 1855) of the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855) is configured to receive and transmit wireless signals over a short-range connection;one or more biometric capture devices (1823, 1871), wherein a biometric capture device (1823, 1871) of the one or more biometric capture devices (1823, 1871) is configured to obtain a biometric credential from an authorized user associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);a communication engine (2213) that is configured to: detect a first wireless signal having been transmitted over a short-range connection by the electronic user device (1809, 2221) and having been received by the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the first wireless signal includes an identifier associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);and transmitting to the electronic user device a second wireless signal over the short range connection using the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the second wireless signal includes the biometric credential;and an access-right determination engine that: in response to the detecting, identify a specification of a limited-access resource using the identifier associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);querying a data store (1831) using the specification of the limited-access resource for an access-enabling code;and facilitate association of the access-enabling code, the biometric credential, or both the access-enabling code and the biometric credential with the identifier associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);wherein the communication engine (2213) is further configured to: facilitate transmission of a third wireless signal over the short range connection using the one or more transceivers (1805,1855) to said electronic user device, wherein the third wireless signal includes a biometric credential request;detect a fourth wireless signal having been transmitted over a short-range connection by the electronic user device (1809, 2221) in response to said third wireless signal and having been received by the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the fourth wireless signal includes a user-device biometric credential;and the electronic client device (1801, 1851, 2201) is further configured to: challenge or verify the user-device biometric credential by obtaining a new biometric credential from a user, by the one or more biometric capture devices (1823, 1871), and comparing the new biometric credential with the received user-device biometric credential.

    The system of claims 1 to 2, wherein the communication engine (2213) is further configured to:facilitate transmission of a fifth wireless signal over the short range connection to the electronic user device (1809, 2221), wherein the fifth wireless signal includes the access-enabling code.

    A computer-implemented method for facilitating selective granting of resource access to authorized users based on short-range communication exchanges, the method comprising:obtaining, by an electronic client device (1801, 1851, 2201), a biometric credential from an authorized user associated with an electronic user device (1809, 2221), wherein obtaining includes using a biometric capture device (1823, 1871);detecting by the electronic client device a first wireless signal transmitted by the electronic user device over a short-range connection, wherein the first wireless signal includes an identifier associated with the electronic user device ;transmitting by the electronic client device a second wireless signal to the electronic user device over the short-range connection, wherein the second wireless signal includes the biometric credential;in response to the detecting, identifying a specification of a limited-access resource using the identifier associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);querying a data store (1831) using the specification of the limited-access resource for an access-enabling code;and associating the access-enabling code, the biometric credential, or both the access-enabling code and the biometric credential with the identifier associated with the electronic user device (1809, 2221);wherein the method further configured to: facilitate transmission by the electronic client device of a third wireless signal over the short range connection using one or more transceivers (1805, 1855) to the electronic user device, wherein the third wireless signal includes a biometric credential request;detect by the electronic client device a fourth wireless signal having been transmitted over a short-range connectior by the electronic user device (1809, 2221) in response to said third wireless signal and having been received by the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the fourth wireless signal includes a user-device biometric credential;and the electronic client device (1801, 1851, 2201) is further configured to: challenge or verify the user-device biometric credential by obtaining a new biometric credential from a user, by the one or more biometric capture devices (1823, 1871), and comparing the new biometric credential with the received user-device biometric credential.

    The system of any one of claims 7 to 9, wherein the stimulus is included in the fourth wireless signal, wherein the input device (2223) includes one or more of the transceivers (1805, 1855), and wherein the communication engine (2213) is further configured to detect the fourth wireless signal having been transmitted over a short-range connection by the electronic user device and having been received by the one or more transceivers at the electronic client device.

    The system of claims 7 to 10 wherein the electronic user device further comprising:a display for presentation of data;wherein the access-right evaluation engine is configured to facilitate presentation of the stimulus data relating to the results of the verification at least by generating a display of a second visual stimulus corresponding to the stimulus data on the display.

    The system of claims 7 to 11, wherein the access-right evaluation engine is configured to facilitate presentation of the stimulus data relating to the results of the verification at least by:facilitating transmission of the fourth wireless signal over the short range connection using the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the fourth wireless signal includes the stimulus data.

    The system of any claims 6 to 12, wherein the communication engine of the electronic user device is further configured to:detect the third wireless signal having been transmitted over the short-range connection by the electronic client device (1801, 1851, 2201) and having beer received by the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855) at the electronic user device (1809, 2221), wherein the third wireless signal includes a biometric credential request;facilitate retrieval of the biometric credential stored in the electronic data store of the electronic user device (2225);and facilitate transmission of the fourth wireless signal over the short range connection using the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the fourth wireless signal includes the biometric credential.

    The system of any one of claims 6 to 13 wherein the electronic user device further comprising:a display for presentation of data;wherein the communication engine of the electronic user device is further configured to: detect a further wireless signal having been transmitted over a second short-range connection by a second electronic client device (1801, 1851, 2201) and having been received by the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855) at the electronic user device (1809, 2221), wherein the detected further wireless signal includes a biometric credential request facilitate retrieval of the biometric credential stored in the electronic data store of the electronic user device (2225), and facilitate transmission of a seventh wireless signal over the second short range connection using the one or more transceivers (1805, 1855), wherein the seventh wireless signal includes the biometric credential.
