14 claims: 9 independent, 5 dependent

  1. 1
A laminate comprising:a first nonwoven layer comprising a plurality of patterned apertures;and a second nonwoven layer;wherein one of the first and second nonwoven layers is a pre-strained layer, wherein the pre-strained layer is pre-strained by at least 5% of its length or width, and is joined to the other one of the first and second nonwoven layers, and wherein the other one of the first and second nonwoven layers is a non-prestrained layer;and wherein the pre-strained layer is a spunbond web comprising sheath/core bicomponent fibers of polyethylene in the sheath and polypropylene in the core;wherein the pre-strained layer and the non-pre-strained layer together form a three-dimensional laminate.
  2. 2
The laminate according to Claim 1, wherein the first layer or the second nonwoven layer comprises an indicia.
  3. 3
The laminate according to Claim 2, wherein the indicia is a different color than the first nonwoven layer or the second nonwoven layer, or wherein the indicia is a different color than the first nonwoven layer and the second nonwoven layer.
  4. 4
The laminate according to Claim 2 or 3, wherein the indicia comprises a printed ink.
  5. 5
The laminate according to Claim 2 or 3, wherein the indicia comprises a pigmented adhesive.
  6. 6
The laminate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the second nonwoven layer comprises a second plurality of apertures, wherein at least some of the plurality of the apertures and the second plurality of apertures are substantially aligned, and wherein the first nonwoven layer is at least partially bonded to the second nonwoven layer at least a portion of perimeters of the at least some of the plurality of the apertures and at least some of the second plurality of apertures.
  7. 7
The laminate according to any one of claims 1-5, wherein the second nonwoven layer is free of apertures.
  8. 8
The laminate of Claim according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the plurality of apertures have an Average Absolute Feret Angle of at least 20 degrees, but less than 70 degrees, according to the Aperture Test herein.
  9. 9
The laminate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the plurality of apertures have Interaperture Distances, according to the Aperture Test described herein, wherein the Interaperture Distances have a distribution having a mean and a median, and wherein the mean is greater than the median.
  10. 10
The laminate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first nonwoven layer has an Effective Open Area in the range of 5% to 50%, according to the Aperture Test described herein.
  11. 11
The laminate according to any one of the preceding claims, comprising a third layer, wherein the first nonwoven layer is positioned at least partially intermediate the third nonwoven layer and the second nonwoven layer.
  12. 12
The laminate according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the first and second nonwoven layers are joined by a pattern of mechanical or adhesive bonds.
  13. 14
An absorbent article comprising:a liquid permeable topsheet comprising the laminate according to any one of Claims 1- 12;a liquid impermeable backsheet;and an absorbent core positioned at least partially ínte1'medíate the topsheet and the backsheet.
