    A method of monitoring an orthopedic device or implant within a subject, comprising:(f) transmitting a wireless electrical signal from a location outside the body to a location inside the subject's body;(g) receiving the signal at a sensor positioned on an orthopedic device or implant according to any one of claims 1 to 26 located inside the body;(h) powering the sensor using the received signal;(i) sensing data at the sensor;and j) outputting the sensed data from the sensor to a receiving unit located outside of the body.
