  1. 1
A medical device for tissue ablation, comprising:a catheter shaft (122);an expandable balloon (130) disposed on the catheter shaft (122), the balloon (130) being capable of shifting between an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration;and a plurality of elongate electrode assemblies (140;840) each constructed as a flexible circuit, the plurality of electrode assemblies (140;840) each including a plurality of electrodes (210, 212, 222;822;1502) arranged in at least first and second spaced apart arrays, the plurality of electrode assemblies (140;840) disposed on an outer surface of the balloon (130), wherein the electrode assemblies (140;840) define pre-determined fold lines, characterised in that the electrode assemblies (140;840) are configured to cause the expandable balloon (130) to fold along the fold lines defined by the electrode assemblies (140;840) after deflation;wherein each of the plurality of electrode assemblies (140;840) includes one or more temperature sensors (226;426;526) aligned with two or more electrodes (210, 212, 222;822;1502) within an array.
  2. 3
The medical device of any of claims 1-2, wherein each temperature sensor (226;426;526) is positioned under an electrode (210, 212;822;1502).
  3. 4
The medical device of any of claims 1-2, wherein each temperature sensor (226) is positioned between two electrodes (210, 212;822;1502) within an array.
  4. 5
The medical device of any of claims 2-4, wherein the ground electrodes (210) are disposed on a ground trace, wherein the one or more temperature sensors (226;426;526) share the ground trace.
  5. 8
The medical device of any one of claims 1-6, wherein the one or more temperature sensors (226;426;526) are disposed on a bottom side of each of the plurality of electrode assemblies (140;840), and the bottom side is attached to the outer surface of the balloon (130).
  6. 9
The medical device of any one of claims 1-8, wherein the plurality of electrode assemblies (140;840) are adapted to unfold and fold with the balloon (130).
  7. 11
The medical device of any of claims 1-10, wherein the plurality of elongate electrode assemblies (140;840) includes a base layer (202) extending under and between the plurality of electrodes (210, 212, 222;822;1502), wherein a portion of the base layer (202) between the first and second arrays is removed.
  8. 12
The medical device of any of claims 1-11, wherein the one or more temperature sensors (226;426;526) are a thermistor.
  9. 13
The medical device of any of claims 1-12, wherein the electrodes (210, 212, 222;822;1502) in the first and second arrays are aligned linearly.
  10. 14
The medical device of any of claims 2-13, wherein each temperature sensor (226) is disposed proximal of a proximal-most ground electrode on each electrode assembly (140;840).
  11. 15
The medical device of any of claims 1-11, 13, and 14, wherein each temperature sensor (226;426;526) is a sputtered thermocouple.
