  1. 1
A fluid circuit (18) for use with a fluid processing assembly, the fluid circuit (18) comprising:an umbilicus (24) having a first end, a second end, an axis of rotation, and a cross-sectional circumference;a one-piece bearing (84) secured to the umbilicus (24) at a location between the first and second ends, the bearing (84) having an axis of rotation and including an inner lumen (148) which directly engages the umbilicus (24) and includes a plurality of traction features (156a, 156b), which bear against the umbilicus (24) to prevent relative rotation of the bearing (84) and the umbilicus (24), characterized in that : the plurality of traction features (156a, 156b) comprising a first traction feature (156a) on a first tab (152) which comprises a first plurality of projections disposed at a first angle about the cross-sectional circumference, the first plurality of projections defining all projections disposed on the first traction feature (156a), and is configured to engage the umbilicus (24) at a first set of lengths between the first and second ends, and a second traction feature (156b) on a second tab (152) which comprises a second plurality of projections disposed at a second angle about the cross-sectional circumference, the second plurality of projections defining all projections disposed on the second traction feature, and is configured to engage the umbilicus (24) at a second set of lengths between the first and second ends, wherein the projections of the first traction feature (156a) on the first tab (152) are oriented in a staggered configuration with respect to the projections of the second traction feature(156b) on the second tab (152).
  2. 10
A fluid circuit (18) for use with a fluid processing assembly, the fluid circuit (18) comprising:an umbilicus (24) having a first end, a second end, an axis of rotation, and a generally circular cross-section having a circumference;a one-piece bearing (84) secured to the umbilicus (24) at a location between the first and second ends, the bearing (84) having an axis of rotation and including an inner lumen (148) which directly engages the umbilicus (24) and includes a plurality of traction features (156a, 156b), which bear against the umbilicus (24) at compression locations (157a, 157b, 157c) to prevent relative rotation of the bearing (84) and the umbilicus (24), characterized in that the plurality of traction features (156a, 156b) comprises: a first traction feature (156a) on a first tab 152 which comprises a first plurality of projections disposed at a first angle about the generally circular cross-section having a circumference, the first plurality of projections defining all projections disposed on the first tab (152), and is configured to engage the umbilicus (24) at a first set of lengths between the first and second ends comprising a plurality of compression locations (157a, 157c);a second tab (152) disposed at a second angle about the generally circular cross-section having a circumference, comprising no traction features;a second traction feature (156a) on a third tab 152 which comprises a second plurality of projections disposed at a third angle about the generally circular cross-section having a circumference, the second plurality of projections defining all projections disposed on the third tab (152), and is configured to engage the umbilicus (24) at the first set of lengths between the first and second ends comprising the plurality of compression locations (157a, 157c);and a fourth tab (152) disposed at a fourth angle about the generally circular cross-section having a circumference, comprising no traction features, wherein the cross-sectional shape of the umbilicus (24) at the first set of lengths is non-circular.
