7 claims: 3 independent, 4 dependent

  1. 1
An anchor (100) comprising:a sleeve (101) comprising: at least one open helical coil (103) having a proximal end and a distal end wherein the at least one open helical coil (103) defines an internal volume (104) communicating with a region exterior to the at least one open helical coil (103) through a spacing between turns of the at least one open helical coil (103), and;at least one rib (105) disposed within the internal volume (104), connected to at least two turns of the at least one open helical coil (103), wherein the at least one rib (105) is engageable with a grooved shaft of an anchor driver;a tip structure (102) engageable with the sleeve (101) comprising: a body (110) defining a longitudinal internal cavity (112) comprising: a distal region defining an aperture sized to accept a suture, wherein the aperture is connected to the longitudinal internal cavity (112), and;a proximal region sized to engage a distal end of the sleeve (101);and a suture capture member (109) positioned within the internal cavity (112) and advanceable distally through the internal cavity (112) into the aperture to capture the suture in a locked position and wherein the at least one open helical coil (103) is a dual lead helical coil.
  2. 5
The anchor of any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the spacing comprises a plurality of spacing sections, wherein each of the plurality of spacing sections is defined between two turns of the at least one open helical coil, each of the plurality of spacing sections having one structural support disposed therein and extending over a portion thereof, the one structural support being connected to two turns of the at least one open helical coil.
  3. 6
A system for tissue repair comprising:an anchor according to any of claims 1 to 5;and an anchor driver (400) comprising: a grooved outer shaft (401) engageable with the at least one rib of the sleeve;an inner shaft (403) engageable with the suture capture member of the tip structure, and;a handle assembly comprising: a suture capture advancement member (409) operatively coupled to the inner shaft, wherein the suture capture advancement member advances the suture capture member into a distal, suture-locked position, and;a sleeve advancement member (411) operatively coupled to the grooved outer shaft wherein the sleeve advancement member advances the sleeve into engagement with the tip structure.
