  1. 1
A method for wirelessly transmitting data performed by a transmitter, the method comprises the steps of:(a) mapping a combination of an ARQ protocol and a HARQ protocol to each combination of a first QoS requirement for a first QoS parameter and a second QoS requirement for a second QoS parameter (step 201);(b) waiting for a reception of information containing a QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter and a QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of each data packet from a scheduler and for a reception of the group of data packets from the scheduler (step 203);(c) after receiving the information and the group of data packets from the scheduler, making a determination as to whether the group of data packets is intended to be transmitted to each receiver of a group of receivers instead of a single receiver (step 205), (d) if the group of data packets is intended to be transmitted to the single receiver, (d1) setting a QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets and a QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets to a level with lowest QoS requirements (step 207);(d2) determining, for a data packet from the group of data packets, if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet and, determining, for the data packet from the group of data packets, if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet;(d3) if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets does not satisfy the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet, upgrading the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets to a higher QoS requirement being the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet;if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets does not satisfy the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet, upgrading the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets to a higher QoS requirement being the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet;(d4) after executing any or all of the upgradings of step (d3), returning to step (d2) for a next data packet in the group of data packets;(d5) if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet and if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet, returning to step (d2) for the next data packet in the group of data packets, wherein steps (d1) - (d5) are repeated for all data packets in the group of data packets, thereby arriving at QoS parameter classes of the group of data packets satisfying the QoS requirements of all data packets in the group of data packets (step 209), (e) if the group of data packets is intended to be transmitted to each receiver of the group receivers, (e1) setting the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets and the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets to the level with lowest QoS requirements (step 208);(e2) for the data packet from the group of data packets: ∘ determining if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet, ∘ determining if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet, so that after the determination if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the data packet and after the determination if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the data packet, it is determined whether the QoS parameter requirements of the data packet are satisfied, ∘ determining, for each receiver among the group of receivers, if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies a QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the receiver, and ∘ determining, for each receiver among the group of receivers, if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies a QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the receiver, so that after determining, for each receiver among the group of receivers, if the QoS parameter class of the first QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the first QoS parameter of the receiver and the determination, for each receiver among the group of receivers, if the QoS parameter class of the second QoS parameter of the group of data packets satisfies the QoS parameter requirement of the second QoS parameter of the receiver, it is determined whether the QoS parameter requirements of each receiver are met;(e3) if any of the QoS parameter requirements of the data packet and/or any of the QoS parameter requirements of the receivers of the group of receivers are not met, upgrading the QoS parameter classes of the two QoS parameter classes of the group of data packets to corresponding QoS parameter classes of a receiver of the group of receivers having a highest QoS requirement among the receivers and subsequently returning to step (e2) for a next data packet in the group of data packets;(e4) if the QoS parameter requirements of the data packet and the QoS parameter requirements of the receivers of the group of receivers are met, returning to step (e2) for a next data packet in the group of data packets;wherein steps (e1) - (e4) are repeated for all data packets in the group of data packets, thereby ensuring that each data packet of the group of data packets is receivable by the corresponding receiver of the group of receivers (step 210);(f) determining a combination of ARQ/HARQ protocols to be applied in a transmission of the group of data packets based on the mapping of step (a) and based on the determined QoS parameter classes of the group of data packets after performing steps (d1) - (d5) for all data packets in the group of data packets or after performing steps (e1) - (e4) for all data packets in the group of data packets (step 211);(g) choosing and setting protocol parameters of the determined HARQ protocol (step 213);(h) packing each data packet of the group of data packets with the chosen combination of ARQ/HARQ protocols, and (i) transmitting each data packet of the group of data packets after the packing to the single receiver in case of step (d) or to each receiver of the group of receivers in case of step (e).
