  1. 1
A method for identifying the sequence of fibers in a multi-fiber optical cable (10), the multi-fiber optical cable comprising a plurality of fibers (11), each fiber being connected between a front-port of a plurality of front-ports (F1-F12) and an end-port of a plurality of end-ports (E1-E12); the method comprising:for each front-port of the plurality of front-ports (F1-F12), collecting an OTDR trace (Tl-T12);and characterized in that the method comprises comparing with each other, via at least a processor, the OTDR traces (T1-T12) as associated with their corresponding front-port;each of the OTDR traces (T1-T12) corresponding to a fiber of the plurality of fibers (11) and comprising an identifying marker of a receiver-fiber connected to a corresponding fiber;for each front-port, based on the OTDR traces (T1-T12), determining the corresponding end-port of the fiber connected to the corresponding front-port thereby determining the sequence of the multi-fiber optical cable (10).
  2. 8
A system configured to identify fiber sequence in a multi-fiber optical cable (10), the multi-fiber optical cable comprising a plurality of fibers (11), each fiber being connected between a front-port of a plurality of front-ports and an end-port of a plurality of end-ports; the system comprising:an OTDR device;and wherein the multi-fiber optical cable (10) is connected to a receiver comprising a plurality of receiver-fibers (R1-R12) having lengths which are different from each other;and wherein each fiber is connected to a corresponding receiver-fiber;and characterized in that the system comprises a non-transitory computer readable media comprising a program configured to compare, using one or more computer processors, with each other a plurality of OTDR traces (T1-T12), each of the traces (T1-T12) corresponding to a fiber of the plurality of fibers (11) and comprising an identifying marker of a receiver-fiber connected to a corresponding fiber, and to determine, based on the OTDR traces (T1-T12), a sequence of the fibers in the multi-fiber optical cable (10).
