The invention relates to a method of inputting a password, and a computer program product.
Background of the Invention
A variety of electronic devices are fitted in place of a keyboard with a touch screen, a so-called touch screen. Among the most popular touchscreen devices include mobile phones, especially smart phones, and tablet computers and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). Touchscreens are but can also be found in many other electronic devices, such as. In navigation systems, remote controls and door locks.
The majority of electronic devices with a touch screen includes personal information such as emails, passwords or credit card numbers that must be protected against unauthorized access. When the device of this password is usually requested, after its correct entry a certain action is performed, for example, to unlock the device to full use. Alternatively, to enter a password can also be queried a specific pattern, which is marked with the finger on the touchscreen. As in the document<patcit id="pcit0001" dnum="WO2011143476A1"><text>WO 2011/143476 A1</text></patcit> describes the entry of various patterns and only the implementation of actions may result which does not unlock the device to full use, such as. the display of email mailbox during activated screen lock.
If the device has a specific time is not used, a screen lock is usually activated automatically or the device goes into a standby mode. For further use of the device on the activated screen lock or standby mode again to enter the password is necessary. For devices such as electronic door locks with touch screen provides protection against unauthorized access, the primary function of the device. After entering the correct password in a door lock to running an action that allows you to open the door.
For password input via a touch screen, a keyboard is usually displayed on the touch screen, on which the letters and / or numbers of the password are successively touched with a fingertip. Since the display of the time is an important feature especially in mobile electronic devices such as smartphones, is also the current time often appear in addition to the keyboard along with the date. With activated lock screen is possible to read the current time, without the screen lock must be lifted.
The displayed the password entry keyboard keys for comfortable typing usually similarly large dimensions like a fingertip. Even at a keyboard with the numbers 0 to 9 takes the keyboard on a smartphone about two-thirds of the television screen. Also for entering the above-mentioned pattern is similar to a lot of screen space required. This has the disadvantage that the remaining space is often not sufficient to display more information. Such additional information could include, for example updates of calendar entries or new messages as e-mails, SMS or MMS. Also, the display time is constrained by the representation of a keyboard on the screen. Here is the space remaining on the screen is no longer sufficient to provide an analog clock display in a comfortable size for reading. The time display with simultaneous display of a keyboard is therefore mainly based on simple digital watches.
Another drawback of the password input by pressing the alphanumeric characters such as. Letters or numbers of the password on a mapped on the touch screen keyboard, the traces that are left on the touch screen. These tracks can firstly by residues on the touch screen or by welding or fats come on the finger. The touchscreen can eg detergent residue, dust or sweat, and greases the example. By applying a smartphone to your ear to make phone calls originate be dirty. In this layer then draws the finger or generally the object with which the touch screen is operated, the traces of the password. In a non-residual clean touch screen, however, fulfill sweat and grease on the finger to leave traces of the password on the touch screen. Such traces are retained as long as the touch screen until they are obliterated.
Based on the marks on the touch screen, the occurring in the password alphanumeric characters can be read, which considerably facilitates the decryption password and thus unauthorized access. Also in the document<patcit id="pcit0002" dnum="WO2011143476A1"><text>WO 2011/143476 A1</text></patcit> described pattern is drawn with a finger on the touch screen can be identified by the traces left on the touch screen.
Summary of the Invention
Object of the invention is improved technologies to enter a password to provide, the password entry takes up less space on the screen to complete and if possible no traces behind when you enter, which can be used to decrypt the password.
This object is achieved by a method according to independent claim 1 and a computer program product according to independent claim 15th Advantageous embodiments of the invention are the subject of dependent subclaims.
In one aspect, the invention comprises a method of inputting a password comprising the steps of: providing a display device which is coupled to a data processing device, displays a clock with a clock element on the display device, wherein a first representation of the watch element is time-dependent, detecting a user input and assigning an alphanumeric character of the password to the user input and the first representation of the watch element.
The display device is coupled to the data processing device such that a user input via a user interface, such as a keyboard, a mouse, a trackball, a scrollwheel, a touchpad, and / or a function key, recorded and processed. The display device may be a touch-sensitive display device, also called touchscreen. In a touch sensitive display device is a user input can be detected and evaluated in the form of a touch on the display means from the data processing device. Such display devices are known from the prior art well. They allow easy control of the data processing device. The data processing means may comprise one or more processors. Furthermore, it can be provided at least one storage unit in the data processing device. The memory device can be used as volatile memory, such as read-only memory (RAM) or a nonvolatile memory, such as a magnetic storage (hard drive), EEPROM, optical storage (CD, DVD), digital memory (flash memory), or semiconductor memory (Solid State Drive) be formed. The data processing device may comprise a communication adapter, such as a network (local area network), a USB port, a wireless network (wireless local area network), Bluetooth and / or near field communication.
The watch shown on the display device may correspond to any formation of a clock. It can thus be supplied. To wristwatches, wall clocks, grandfather clocks, pocket watches, church clocks or hourglasses act. Thus, the time may be generally represented in both digital and analog. When moving a digital watch or change the time display numbers and an analog clock to move or change the time display pointer. Besides the commonly existing display of hours and minutes and other displays may be included, such as second, date, power reserve, moon phases and times in other time zones. When using a power reserve is preferable to use this to indicate the charge state of a battery of the data processing device. In addition to conventional full circle scale with 12 hours and 60 minutes, for example, can. Also 6 hours are available 24 hours or part circular scales application. Likewise scales that are not curved along a circle can be used straight. Combinations of digital and analog display are possible.
It is contemplated that the displayed on the display device clock having a clock element whose representation is time-dependent. As used herein, watches element or element generally refers to components or components of a watch. A time-dependent representation of a watch element describes a changing with time representation so that at a time deviates the appearance of the watch element from the presentation at another time. The time dependence of the display of the watch element can be characterized by both a direct function of the time as well as by an indirect function of time. In a direct function of the time a certain time is, for example, associated with a particular presentation of the watch element. One example is called an hour hand, the hour on the "4" and at 8 am on the hour "8" shows at 4 pm and the presentation thus changes with time progresses either continuously or periodically by leaps and bounds. For an indirect function of time, the presentation of a watch element also changes with consecutive time, but in the context of another size. As an example, a power reserve or a remaining time display called, indicating the current state of charge of a battery of the data processing device. Here the representation of the power reserve indicator changes with the lapse of time in direct dependence on the state of charge of the battery. Thus, it is provided that the display of the watch changes over consecutive time. This ensures that, starting appears from the representation of a clock to a time a different presentation, when you look at another time on the display device.
The user input may refer generally to the operation of an input device. Known input devices eg. Keyboards, computer mice, function keys, trackball, touchpad, touch screen, stylus pens and scroll wheels. General includes a user input actions such as pressing keys, the turning scroll wheels or trackballs and touch touchpads and touchscreens. User input may include one or more actions of the user. A user input based on a touch screen may generally refer to any contact or touching with a finger or a dedicated pen or other object. Furthermore, a contact with several fingers are carried out simultaneously, such as. When zooming in a picture and document two fingers apart to be led away. A touch on the touchscreen can be a quick tap or sustained for a certain period of contact at a particular location on the touch screen. Likewise, a contact corresponding to a fast spreading along the touch screen as you move from sites or a slower pulling along the touch screen as in selecting text. The painting or drawing of the contact can be carried out both along straight lines and along curved lines and ellipses and circles.
The user input and the first representation of the clock element can be assigned an alphanumeric character of the password. The user input can serve as a stimulus for registering a password character of the data processing device. Besides functioning as a trigger pulse, the position, type and duration of user input can be recorded on the display of the data processing device and used for the allocation of a password character. Based on the data of the user input in combination with the display of the watch element can register an alphanumeric character of the password, the data processing device. With an analog clock that displays eg. The time 6:30, the hour hand can be defined as a clock element and the position of the hour hand are assigned the number "6" by the hour hand is clicked or touched by the user. It can also be defined as clocks element and assigned to the position of the minute hand, the number "30" by the minute hand is touched in this example, the minute hand. the displayed numbers may also be tapped and thus registered as characters of the password of the data processing device on a digital clock. The password entry may be limited to a clock element, so that no other can be selected by the user input. In this case, the position of the user input on the display device is not important. The user input is used here only as a stimulus for the registration of the displayed by the clock element character.
According to a further aspect, the invention comprises a method of inputting a password comprising the steps of: providing a display device which is coupled to a data processing device, displays a clock with a clock element on the display device, wherein a first representation of the watch element is time-dependent, detecting a user input and assigning an alphanumeric character of the password to the user input and a further representation of the watch element.
The user input and a further illustration of the watch element can be assigned a password character. A first representation of a clock element may, for example at an analog clock. Relate to an hour hand pointing to the hour "6". In this example, a further illustration of the watch element to the very same hour hand can however "4" refer to the hour showing. Thus, in this example, in combination with the user input the number "4" is registered as a character of the password.
The clock element can be transferred by means of the user input from the first representation to the further representation, in which the alphanumeric characters of the password is assigned to the further representation of the watch element.
According to one aspect of the method of the invention, a clock element to convict based on user input from one representation to another representation. This may correspond, for example. An adjustment of the indicated by the watch time. When an analog clock with an hour hand at the 6 o'clock position of the hour hand can be clicked and dragged to the 4 o'clock position, for example, to enter the number "4" of the password. In a digital clock the numbers of the display can be changed by painted finger over it. Thus, by means of user input using a hour display with a 12-hour scale any number between "1" and "12" are set.
In a further development it is provided that a further watches element of the watch is displayed, a first representation of the other watches element is not time-dependent and the other watches element by means of user input from the first representation is transferred to another display and the alphanumeric characters of the password of another presentation of other watches element and a presentation of watches element is assigned.
A watch member whose representation is not time-dependent will, at any time look the same. When an analog clock, this applies for example to the hour scale with the corresponding hour markers and possibly hours numbers. According to one aspect of the inventive method, the representation of such a time-independent clocks element is changed based on a user input. For example. , the hour scale an analog clock are rotated by a certain angle. It should be noted that the transfer of a time-independent clocks element from one representation to another representation based on a user input is not to be regarded as a time-dependent change of the representation. The change in the presentation of the time-independent clocks member can be assigned in combination with a representation of a time-dependent watches element a password character. As an example, an analog clock called, the time-dependent element is a watch to the minute "15" pointing minute hand and the non-time-dependent element is a watch hour scale. Based on a user input the hour scale can be rotated 60 degrees clockwise, so that the minute hand indicates the hour, "1" of the hour scale and this number "1" can be associated with the password. Thus, by means of user input using a 12-hour scale any number between "1" and "12" are set to the minute hand.
In one embodiment of the invention it is provided that the display of the watch element and / or the representation of the further clocks element after completion of the user input is respectively transferred from the another representation back to the first view.
After the presentation of a watch element has been changed based on a user input, the clock element be returned to the original display. It is provided that the transfer in the original presentation from the data processing device and not executed based on a user input. If, for example. The minute hand is in its original position at the minute "15" drawn based on a contact with the touch screen in a different position, the minute hand can again Reset to the minute "15" after the release of the contact. Thus, the input on the clock number of the password is no longer displayed after the input and the originally displayed time is readable again.
In an embodiment of the invention, the method comprising the steps of, detecting a further user input during the transfer of the watch element and / or of the further clocks element from the respective further representation back into the respective first representation and assigning a further alphanumeric character of the password to the representation of the watches element and / or the representation of the further member at the time clocks of the further user input. Alternatively, the representation of the watch element and / or the representation of the further clocks element at the time of the further user input in a further illustration can be converted and assigned to the further representation of the watch element and / or of the further representation of the further clock element, the more alphanumeric characters of the password.
In a further development it is provided that the clock between the user input and the further user input is changed. It can be provided that the watch element between user input (for example a contact) and the further user input (for example, another touch) is converted back to the first view. The transfer can take place continuously and slowly enough so that further user input is possible, while the clock element is still transferred back to the first view. The display of the watch element at the time of the further user input, another character of the password will be assigned. Alternatively, the clock element based on the additional user input may in turn be placed in a new presentation, the new view is then assigned to a character of the password. Given a sufficiently slow return movement can thus be moved by a second user input to a new position, the moving clock element, which is assigned a further sign of the password. In this case, blocks the motion generated due to the second user input during the input period, the return movement. The in such a password entry left by a finger on a touch screen traces depend not only on the time from to which the password is entered. The traces left hanging additionally by the waiting time between releasing the first touch and the second touch building during the return movement from, as well as the speed of the return movement.
According to a variant, the inventive method comprises the steps of: displaying a further clock with a clock element on the display device, wherein a first representation of the clock element of the further clock is time-dependent, acquiring a further user input and allocating a further alphanumeric character of the password to the other user input and the first representation of the clock element of the further clock or a further illustration of the watch element of another clock.
To enter additional alphanumeric characters of the password of the invention in a variant, represent another clock on the display device. On the other watch can be entered another sign of the password by the same procedure as on the first clock, the first character of the password is entered. By displaying any number of clocks, any number of characters of the password can thus be entered. Alternatively or additionally it may be provided on each input clock several characters of the password. The display multiple clocks commonly used to display the time in different time zones, countries or cities.
According to a further aspect of the invention, a further user input can be detected and be assigned a further alphanumeric characters of the password to further user input and a display of the watch element, or a representation of the other clocks element, or a representation of the other clocks element.
According to one embodiment can be provided that a further user input is detected and the further user input and a representation of a clock element is associated with another character alphanumeric password. Herewith passwords of any length can be entered. If a clock is shown with an adjustable element can be provided that the clock element is adjusted by means of a further one-touch pass, so that the clock is transferred to another display and the other display is assigned to another character alphanumeric password. It can also be provided to generate by means of several consecutively executed touches multiple representations of the watch, which are each associated with an alphanumeric character of the password. To enter more alphanumeric characters of the password, a clock element can be used, which has already been used to enter previous characters of the password. Also can be used to enter other characters of the password, a clock element that has not been used to choose the previous character of the password.
In one embodiment of the invention, another alphanumeric characters of the password of another user input in combination with a display of the watch element or a representation of the other watches element or a representation of / other watches element assigned without the watch element or the other watches element or the other Watches element to be converted into another representation.
Other characters of the password can be entered without changing the appearance of these watches based elements previous to the input character of used watches elements. For example. Displaying numbers can be tapped for input. Also when entering a previously already entered character, the mark can be registered without the representation of a clock element to change. Also character of the password can be entered on the basis of other, not yet used watches elements without changing the appearance of these elements not previously used clocks.
In one embodiment, the user input comprises a plurality of actions of a user.
The user input may comprise a plurality of user's consecutive actions. An action of a user refers to any use of an input device, such as., Clicking, scrolling, tapping or dragging. Before a character of the password is registered, one or more watch items can be touched / clicked or moved.
In another embodiment, the user input comprises exactly one action from the user and the user input will be assigned more alphanumeric characters of the password in combination with a display of the watch element or a representation of the other watches element or a representation of / other watches element.
One user input comprising only one user action, several characters of the password can be assigned. Such action may, for example. Are by tapping or clicking on a clock or a control button. By tapping a watch that displayed time in hours, minutes and seconds can be assigned to the password, for example.. Also, a clock element in a given position or at a certain point of the watch element for a certain period can be held. Here, in each case according to a defined Zeiti ntervall repeatedly a certain number of the password of the site will be allocated on the watch element or the position of the clock element.
In one embodiment of the inventive method, the display device is a touch-sensitive display device and a user input, one or more touches of the display device detected.
The display device may correspond to a touch screen or a touch screen. User input on a touch screen corresponding to one or more taps on the touch screen. A touch on the touchscreen can eg. Based effected by a finger or a dedicated pen.
According to one aspect of the invention, the clock is represented as an analogue clock and the clock element with the time-dependent presentation is an hour hand, a minute hand, a second hand or a remaining time display.
A watch with analog display may include, inter alia, one or more of the following elements Watches: hour hand, minute hand, second hand, dial and case. In the plan view of the clock commonly used on a display screen of the housing, the bezel is mainly visible. The dial may contain scales for hour and minute, and possibly also for the second. Watches elements with time-dependent representation of an analog clock are primarily the hands, as the hour hand, minute hand and second hand. But additional ingredients an analog clock, such as. A date display, and a remaining power reserve indicator, moon phase indicator and display the time in other time zones contain Watches elements with time-dependent representation.
According to a further aspect of the invention, the clock is represented as an analog watch, and the watch element with non-time-dependent representation is a dial or a bezel.
Analog clocks have several watches elements whose display to the time display at all times is the same. These are eg. Scales for hour, minute, and second, the dial generally, the watch case with bracelet or the bezel. The numbers or labels of various scales analog watches watches represent elements with no time-dependent representation.
A member of a watch can also consist of a combination of several components of the watch. When an analog clock, it may be useful to connect the bezel with the dial and the indexes of the hour and minute scale and to be regarded as a composite element clocks. So would move along the scale of the clock while moving the bezel based on a contact with the touchscreen.
According to a further aspect of the invention, the clock is represented as a digital watch and the watch element with time-dependent representation is one or more numbers or one or more letters.
The clock can be shown, for example, as a digital clock, the clock element with time-dependent representation of one or more numbers, one or more letters or a combination thereof. In a digital clock displaying one or more of the following elements clocks with time-dependent presentation may include: hour, minute, second, and day, month and year in which the current values are displayed in the form of numbers or letters. As with a number plate, a number wheel or a number line may be visible in addition to the current values of the time, the already past and still coming values on the display. Here Watches elements can be divided with several numbers or letters in multiple elements. The first number of the minute display can be defined as an independent member watches the number of tens of minutes. A display of the month in the form of three-letter abbreviations, such as February for February, can thus be divided into three separate elements watches.
According to a further aspect of the invention there is provided a computer program product stored on a data carrier and which is configured to perform the inventive method in one embodiment by means of a data processing device.
The inventive method can be implemented in a suitable programming language such as. C, C ++, Objective-C or Java in the form of a computer program. The process can be integrated into an operating system such as. Android, iOS or Windows, or be provided as a separately installed software. In the form of an Android application or app, the inventive method can be integrated into the lock screen and then used to unlock the device by entering a password, for example.. Possible data processing devices provide mobile phones, especially smart phones, personal computers, tablet computers and PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants) represent, as well as other electronic devices, such as. Navigation systems, remote controls and door and safe locks.
To illustrate the variety of possible clocks that can be used to enter the password a few examples are mentioned below. In the watch from the document<patcit id="pcit0003" dnum="WO2011069218A1"><text>WO 2011/069218 A1</text></patcit> can enter the password for example. on the adjustment of the minute hand carried, where the hours would completely rotate. In the watch from the document<patcit id="pcit0004" dnum="WO00072095A3"><text>WO 00/072095 A3</text></patcit> the corresponding password Watches elements could be selected by tapping. For watches according to the document<patcit id="pcit0005" dnum="DE602005001612T2"><text>DE 602005001612 T2</text></patcit> could be adjusted and which rotate separately the planet gears with the number of hours by tapping the minute hand. When the clocks by the documents<patcit id="pcit0006" dnum="WO2012070009A1"><text>WO 2012/070009 A1</text></patcit> and <patcit id="pcit0007" dnum="CH694109A5"><text>CH 694 109 A5</text></patcit> could be the inner and outer glass panes having the halved numbers rotate so that sequentially the numbers of the password can be set. On the power reserve of watches of the document<patcit id="pcit0008" dnum="US2011182152A1"><text>US 2011/182152 A1</text></patcit> can be set a three-digit password by rotation of the discs.
Watches with digital time display in the form of numbers, such as. In the document <patcit id="pcit0009" dnum="WO2011057149A2"><text>WO 2011/057149 A2</text></patcit> described, offer the advantage that additional numbers on the figures of the time shown can be seen on the clock. This follows from the fact that as the hour is presented in the form of a tape on which the possible numbers of the hour are applied. Such belt moves every hour to a number on, so in a labeled box the current hour is to read. Outside the box labeled the numbers the last few hours on one side, and the numbers of the coming hours on the other side are visible. A watch as in the document<patcit id="pcit0010" dnum="WO2011057149A2"><text>WO 2011/057149 A2</text></patcit> described, due to the additional visible figures of the display provides a variety of options of password input by the novel process.
For watches with digital time display such as. In the document <patcit id="pcit0011" dnum="WO2011057149A2"><text>WO 2011/057149 A2</text></patcit> described usually are the hours of "1" to "12" and the minute of "1" to "60" exist. For entering a password using such a mapped on a screen clock, it may be desirable to provide a four-digit password with the numbers "0" to "9" to enter per site. Due to the dimensions of the clock in the document<patcit id="pcit0012" dnum="WO2011057149A2"><text>WO 2011/057149 A2</text></patcit> It is here, however, the space was not physically possible, the numbers "0" to "99" to accommodate the tape with the hours. An animation of this watch is not subject to these physical constraints, so that in one embodiment of the present process any number of characters can be displayed at any distance on the tapes, discs, cubes or rolls the display.
A variety of electronic devices with display device having one or more function keys that can be used to enter the password using the inventive method. Here is example. Provided by a first user action by pressing the function key one or more of clocks elements into motion. By pressing the function key, the positions of the watch or the watch element elements are successively recorded, corresponding to the numbers of the password. Also function keys are known, which can also register the direction of a strike based on a finger on the button next to the function of a trigger (see Smartphone Model Desire Z manufacturer HTC). Such touch-sensitive function keys allow scrolling and tapping like on a touch screen. For example. it is possible by horizontal swipe select various elements of a clock on the function key and by vertically brushing to adjust then. The use of a touch-sensitive soft key to enter the password by the novel process has the advantage that no traces are left on the display device that can be used to decrypt the password. The tracks on the touch-sensitive button function are superimposed all, so they are difficult to decipher. Alternatively, a region can be used on the touch screen for displaying a corresponding key. This function key shown on the touch screen is then used to control the clock shown and thus to enter the password by the novel process. Instead of a function key can also be used to enter the password by the inventive process a connected to the device mouse. Turning the scrollwheel mouse can here correspond to brushing with the function button, the click of a mouse button or pressing the scroll wheel is equivalent to pressing the function key. The trackballs or rotating wheels, which are integrated directly into the device is possible to enter the password.
The password can consist of one or several numbers or when using a date display with letters also from one or more letters. Also, the password can be composed of numbers and letters. Letters and numbers can be summarized alphanumeric characters under the preamble. The password in the specified sense here may be made in any number of consequently any alphanumeric characters. Also coupled with the current time passwords are possible, such as an addition of two numbers with the values of the hour and minute at the time of entering a password. It can have different passwords are used for the execution of different password protected actions.
With a tap based on a contact or a click based on a mouse or a function key, the duration of the user input is typically very short. This is the position at the start of the user input (for example, the manufacture of contact with the screen) is approximately equal to the position at the end of the user input (such as the loosening of the contact with the screen). It may be provided, the appearance of the clock not to change due to the user input. This is useful, for example, if the number entered the password is already shown by the corresponding element of the watch. Even with a holding of the contact of the cursor or mouse at a particular position on the screen, the representation of the clock remain unchanged. With a holding of a particular position can be provided that the data processing means of the position of a clock element after a certain duration assigns a number of the password. Thus, the same number can be registered several times in succession by a correspondingly long retaining a contact at a specific position based on a single user input from the data processing device.
The movement of an element of the watch as a result of touching the touch screen to enter the password can be done in a way that is similar to an adjustment of the time. In a digital clock with two numbers for hour and minute a four-digit password can eg. By a strike in the vertical direction on the individual numbers are entered, the strike allows a kind of scrolling through the values of the respective number. Alternatively, the individual figures can be touched, so the number will be provided by a value on. With an analog clock with hour hand, minute hand and second hand, an existing three numbers password are passed through a drawing of three pointers to the respective angular position which corresponds to the respective value of the password on the scale of the dial. These two methods of entering a password each moved by the touch of any member of the watch is associated with a number of the password and the password is visible after entering.
However, the movement of an element of the watch as a result of touching the touch screen to enter the password can also be done in a way that is to be found with the setting of a number combination with a mechanical combination lock with a hub such as. in vaults comparable. With an analog clock hands of the watch can be used to sequentially adjust the numbers of the password on a scale of the dial. Conversely, the dial with the scale to be rotated with the numbers of the password then eg. By the match with a pointer or a mark on the bezel are set. The bezel with a corresponding marking can be rotated for setting the password to the scale of the watch around.
the password entry can be done similarly as in a slot machine on a digital clock, wherein a plurality of rollers or wheels with printed numbers are juxtaposed and are stopped from rotation respectively in a certain position. Here meet the individual rollers or wheels to the elements of the watch. Starting from a display of the watch, the numbers of the hour and minute by a user input or automatically with a defined delay after displaying the login screen are for example. Set in motion. The numbers are then stopped by a further user input in exactly the position of the password. After stopping and registering the individual numbers of the password is either to see the number of the password on the display, or the wheels or rollers continued their motion continues, so the password is not visible.
The password entry can be done in an analog clock also similar to dialing a telephone number on a rotary phone. Here a member of the watch is rotated based on a user input in a position which corresponds to a number of the password. After the appropriate number of the password was registered for the watch element can move back into the original position in which again the current time is displayed. To enter the next numbers of the password, this process is repeated, the clocks will each member moved to the positions corresponding to the numbers to be entered the password.
In order to move an element of the PM based on a user input is provided to position the mouse cursor or the touch on the screen so that the position corresponds to the element to be moved to the clock. A pointer of the watch can say, for example. In the middle or at the end clicked or touched and therefore moved. consequently exist In a circular element, such as the scale of the watch many possible locations on the screen to click on the scale of a movement or touch. To simplify the selection of a clock element, but also the watch element confining surface can be defined on the added element. In a thin hand it is not necessary to click on a link for a movement exactly or touch. In a round analog clock that does not fill the entire touch screen, the touch of the watch case or the bezel may be facilitated by the surfaces can be used for the movement of the watch case or the bezel around the clock. This also has the advantage that, for a contact with a finger, the watch is less concealed by the finger, because the finger is further away on the touch screen of the watch.
In one embodiment of the method according to the invention is provided to continue the motion of a watch element by a user input, even if the position of the user input no longer corresponds with the clock element. If, for example. A minute hand selected and adjusted based on a contact with a touch screen, the touch can be also moved away from the clock, without losing control over the minute hand. Thus, the selected minute hand can be rotated or displaced by a displacement of the contact along straight or curved lines from positions outside of the watch. This has the advantage that the minute hand or the clock is less obscured by the touch. In a related embodiment of the method according to the invention, an element of the PM are selected by a first user input, then to be adjusted by one or more other user input at a different location on the screen. In a watch with adjustable hour, minute and second hands can, for example. First, the second hand will be tapped and thereby selected and adjusted thereafter by a further contact with the screen outside of the watch. After the adjustment of the second hand then the minute and hour hands can be adjusted in the same manner.
In a further embodiment of the inventive method, only a specific element of the watch such as. The scale an analog clock to move by a user input. Since no other elements of the watch can be moved, in principle it is not important where the contact is placed to the movement of the movable element on the screen. It can thus be used to register a touch screen, the entire basis of which then a number of the password is entered.
The extent to which a clock element can move, can be defined in the settings for password entry. Thus, for example. Be determined that a minute hand can only be turned by the predetermined by the time display rotation. After this minute hand has been selected on the basis, for example. From contact with the screen for adjusting a shifting of the contact along straight or curved lines can always only produce a rotation of the minute hand. Alternatively it can be determined that a watch element must not be rotated but only postponed. Moving a minute hand causes him to leave his position on the clock and is virtually dismantled. With one or the other end of the dismantled minute hand then the numbers of the password can be selected in sequence, for example. On the hour scale.
The reversal of the direction of movement of an element of the watch can be a number of the password found, so that a multi-digit password can be entered without loosing contact with the touchscreen. Here, the position of the element, wherein the moving direction is changed, a character of the password is assigned. but can likewise also the position of the element while releasing the touch operations are used to define the number entered the password. A further alternative is maintaining the contact at a certain position of the member of the watch to enter a number of the password. Even with a digital clock, an element of the display are used to successively enter multiple numbers of the password.
It can be provided that the watch element during ongoing for a period of time and did not change contact the display device is fixed in a particular type of clock and this particular display is assigned an alphanumeric character of the password. Alternatively, according to a training that the representation of the watch is in a loosening of the contact associated with an alphanumeric character of the password of the display device.
If the password has several alphanumeric characters can define the sequence of alphanumeric character and the other alphanumeric character in the password, a chronological sequence of user input and the further user input. If at a digital clock so first minute is adjusted, followed by the hour and then the second, the password from the set values of minute, hour and second in exact order can be made. Alternatively, the sequence of alphanumeric characters of the password of the spatial arrangement of the elements of the watch sector. In a digital watch with an hour left, the minutes in the middle and the second right is accordingly the password from the set values of hour, minute and second in exact order exist.
The verification of the password can continuously be carried out by the electronic device during the password entry. Also, an additional operation button on the touch screen display, wherein the actuation of the previous input of the password is checked. Alternatively, it is provided that the review of the inputted reference to an element of the displayed clock character password takes place only after the input of the next character of the password has begun on a further element of the watch. Here no movement of the element, but the final position of the element is used to define the character of the password. Can also be provided, for example. After adjusting the pointer an analog clock based on the contact with the touch screen one or more circles around the clock to draw to trigger the Sign of the set password. Such touches can next to the trigger function for registering a password also serve the benefit to cover up the traces previously generated for setting the password on the screen. After entering the correct password, a password-protected action be carried out directly or with a defined delay of the data processing device.
It is possible next to the clock display one or more selection buttons on the display device, which lead only after successful entry of the password when actuated to the execution of a protected by the password action. Before successfully entering the password, the operation of these radio buttons can lead to the execution of a non-password-protected action, such as. A display of information that only after the correct entry of the password, the password-protected action can be performed. Here, however, the change of the actions to be performed by operation of these radio buttons can already be regarded in itself as a password-protected action.
Password-protected actions specified here meaning can basically affect any executable by the data processing device actions. As examples may be mentioned here that unlocking the screen, or canceling the lock screen, the display of sensitive information such as email boxes, calendar or the opening of a door lock. As mentioned above can password-protected actions but also the simple display of one or more panels constitute the basis of which the user can access eg to sensitive data stored in the electronic device.
It is intended to be run by entering different passwords different actions. For example. is displayed after entering a password, the e-mail inbox, the calendar after you enter a different password appears. The execution of the password-protected actions can be made with activated lock screen without the screen lock is released. Thus, only the functions can be used with active screen lock, which were provided by the execution of the password-protected action available. To use additional features then another password must be entered again. Furthermore, it is provided, that is to use the method according to the invention in the unlocked state of the device with deactivated lock screen. In the unlocked state of the device, all other functions of the device are stable up to the password-protected actions normally. To run a password-protected action in the unlocked state of the device then the corresponding password must be entered on the displayed on the touch screen watch again.
The input of different passwords may also be used to identify different users of the electronic device. Here, each user of the device has a separate password allocated to according to which the device can identify the user. After entering a password then the data and functions of the corresponding user programs are loaded, and the data, features and programs are not accessible by users. Even an administrator can be provided, which has access to all data, programs and functions of the device after entering a secure password possible.
After successfully entering the password, the watch can remain displayed on the screen and will be returned to the current time. The password-protected action can be performed in a new window of the display, so that after closing the new window again, the window is displayed with the clock. The clock can also be hidden, for example, to make space on the screen for executing the password-protected action after entering a password.
The definition of a password, which is to be entered prior to performing a particular action to be protected can be done in different ways. In a definition mode of the electronic device, the password can be entered via a mapped on the touch screen keyboard directly into a dedicated mask for example.. To confirm the password, it would be useful to re-enter in this method of defining the password, but at the same clock which is used to retrieve the password to perform the password-protected action. Alternatively, the definition of the password can also be done directly by entering at the same clock which is used to retrieve the password to perform the password-protected action. Here it would be useful again the password to verify the definition on the clock, in addition to display on the touch screen.
When defining the password additional options can be specified which affect the security of password protection. The assignment of certain elements of the watch to certain numbers or characters is eg. Identify the elements which have to be used which characters of the password to enter in what order. The chronological order may be defined which characters of the password are taken to which elements of the clock input before the input of other characters. With the spatial order, however, the characters of the password are assigned to the elements of the watch. Also you can define which elements of the watch are also movable, although they must not be used to enter the password. The latter has the consequence that the left behind on the touchscreen tracks can not be clearly assigned to the entry of the password character according to a particular element of the watch. Thus, for example. The direction indicated by the clock time will be changed before or after entering a password.
More options for password entry, the nature and duration represent the touch on the touch screen, which are required to enter an alphanumeric character of the password. Furthermore, a period can be defined within which starting from the first touch of the touch screen, the password can be entered. In addition, a period of time should be defined within which at one or more times incorrect input the password re-entry is not possible. The accuracy with which the alphanumeric characters of the password must be entered can be defined as an option, for example, plus or minus two minutes of the minute scale. To avoid an automatic password entry for the event that the current time corresponds to the password, the addition can be determined that the password entry can be done by contact with the touch screen only after the movement of the elements.
In the event that only a small security is required against unauthorized access, the method can also be combined with an interactive, analog clock according to document <patcit id="pcit0013" dnum="DE102010020466A1"><text>DE 102010020466 A1</text></patcit> be used. In a variant of this watch, the hands are rotated to view the current time together with the bezel by hand. The angular position corresponds a mark on the bezel with the pointer at the corresponding respect to the current time. Unit time of the pointer. When using such maps, analog clock, the current time can be defined as a password, which must be read to perform the password-protected action. To perform the password-protected action, so must be known as the current time is read on interactive, analog clock. Since not necessarily to be displayed time is adjusted by adjusting the pointer here, it is not necessary to correct password is entered back the clock again.
In the inventive process the traces of contact on the touch screen can not be used easily to decrypt the password. This is a repeated tapping and a reciprocating strutting about an element of the watch because the touches on the touchscreen extend another, which makes the respective upper track the underlying blurred. As at different times the clock indicating different times, and different user input for entering a password are required. The left behind on the screen tracks thus depend on the time from to which the password is entered. With an adjustment of the time displayed in the alphanumeric characters of the password, the knowledge of the exact time would be for decrypting the password using the marks on the touch screen, consequently, in which the password is entered necessary. Also, there are several options at a specific time to enter a specific password, which the decoding of the tracks becomes more difficult. In a password input via a power reserve indicator of a clock that displays the battery level of the device, the tracks will depend on the screen of the battery state of charge at the time of entering a password. When entering a password based on a function key further to leave no trace on the screen that can be used to decrypt the password.
In addition to increased security of password protection method of the invention provides a dual functionality of the clock displayed on the touchscreen. On the one-hour time display and on the other hand is used to enter the password. Since the area necessary to display an intended for password input keyboard incorporates a large proportion of the television screen, saves significant space by the dual functionality of the watch. So analog clocks can be displayed in one to read the time comfortable size in the process according to the invention, for example on smartphones. The inventive method thus also enables the display of any watches in scale 1: 1 and higher on the forms provided for password entry screen.
The primary commercial applicability of the method is in the password input on electronic devices. Another more exploitation, the use of watch designs for over the time display beyond function especially on smartphones and tablet computers. Many manufacturers of wristwatches use applications on smartphones and tablet computers, so-called. Apps, for marketing purposes of their products. Such apps work mostly as scaled-down versions of the manufacturer's website, thereby integrating into the device limited to displaying the page content. This has the disadvantage that such apps the consumer no longer benefit offer than the websites of manufacturers, which can be quickly lost interest in the app. The inventive method, however enables further integration of the app in the functioning of the device, so that the manufacturer's watches offers next to the time as well as the function of protecting the data stored in the smartphone data against unauthorized access.
Some innovative watch the main attraction lies in the fact that changes the appearance of the display, either continuously or abruptly over time. Such changes happen but so slowly or rarely, that the time has to be adjusted while demonstrating the mechanism for example at trade fairs. As owners of such watches are thus likewise seduced the time to adjust, to finally experience the change in the display. Adjusting the time of an already correctly set clock but has little functional sense. When integrating such innovative watches in smartphones or tablet computers using the method of the invention but the adjustment of the time has the function of entering a password. Thus, the appeal of a corresponding app, which may result as a marketing tool to improved commercial usability of the app increases.

In <figref idrefs="f0001">Fig. 1</figref> is shown based on four consecutive snapshots of a touch screen, the basic sequence of the method according to the invention from the user's view of the electronic device. <figref idrefs="f0001">Fig. 1 (a)</figref> shows the starting point of the process with a clock 2 shown on the touch screen 1 to the time 16:00. In<figref idrefs="f0001">Fig. 1 (b)</figref> was the finger 8 of the user of the electronic device made contact with the touch screen 1 and elements of the watch are moved according to a password entry. In<figref idrefs="f0001">Fig. 1 (c)</figref> is the adjusted clock 2 shown after the password input, the clock 2 indicates that is necessary for the execution of the password-protected action password in this embodiment of the inventive method. The basic process flow of an embodiment of the inventive method using a block diagram in <figref idrefs="f0002">FIG. 2</figref> shown. The method begins with the process 101, in which a clock displayed on the display device. In the next process 102, a user input is registered with attributes such as location on the display device and the type of user input (for example, typing, clicking, dragging, scrolling or brushing). The registered user input is brought in process 103 with the displayed clock connected and converted or translated into positions or representations of watch elements. The thus obtained positions of the watch elements are shown in the process 104 on the touch screen and transferred in process 105 in alphanumeric characters of the password. The transfer of the positions of the elements in watches password character in process 105 is performed according to the setting, for example. With reference to the angular positions of the elements on a scale watches an analog clock. In the process 106 determined in the preceding process 105 alphanumeric characters with or passwords stored in a database are compared. If a match of alphanumeric characters with a password performs process 107 for execution of protected with the password Action in process 108. If the alphanumeric characters do not match with a password from the database performs process 107 returns to process 102 to register additional user input. By repeatedly running through the block diagram successively entered alphanumeric characters of the password are registered.
In <figref idrefs="f0003">Fig. 3</figref> is the password input from <figref idrefs="f0001">Fig. 1 (b)</figref> illustrated in detail based on six consecutive snapshots. <figref idrefs="f0003">Fig. 3 (a)</figref> shows the touch screen 1 with an analog clock with 12 hours and 60 minutes out of the time 16 o'clock. The analog clock composed of the elements 22 hour hand, minute hand 23, housing or bezel 24 and the dial 25 with hours scale 26th
The settings for password entry in the embodiment of the method in <figref idrefs="f0003">Fig. 3</figref> allow the adjustment of the clock elements 22 hour hand and minute hand 23. All other elements of the watch are not adjustable in this embodiment. Furthermore, the two hands 22, 23 are adjusted independently of each other, so that eg. When adjusting the hour hand 22 does not move the minute hand 23. With two pointers values should be set to the hour scale, resulting in a two-digit password gives each with 12 possible values per site. First, the minute hand 23 is to be adjusted so that it points to an hour "11" and then the hour hand is to be placed on an hour "7." 22 The adjusted password in<figref idrefs="f0003">Fig. 3</figref> thus "11-07" is with the proviso that the first number with the minute hand 23 and the second number is set with the hour hand 22nd The password-protected action is executed after correct setting of the password, and after releasing the contact with the touch screen 1 with a defined short time delay for example. In <figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9</figref> is a variant of the method according to the invention with an interactive, analog clock 6 according to document <patcit id="pcit0015" dnum="DE102010020466A1"><text>DE 102010020466 A1</text></patcit> shown. The PM 6 has an hour hand 62 and a minute hand 63, and the reference marks 64 on the bezel 65. The reading of the time is done here by rotating the bezel 65, causing rotation of the hour hand 62 and minute hand 63 has the consequence wherein the two pointers 62, 63 half as far as turning the bezel 65. the current hour is derived from the angular position at which the hour hand 62 coincide with the marking 64 on the bezel 65th Likewise, the current minute results from the angular position at which the minute hand 63 coincide with the mark 64 on the bezel 65th The initial position of the bezel before entering the password can be randomly determined by the data processing device, so that with each new password entry to another position the bezel appears. Alternatively, the position of the bezel can be used, in which the bezel has been left at the last user input.
In the embodiment of the method according to the invention <figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9</figref> is provided to be used to read the current time as a password. The registration of a correct reading of time is triggered by the release of the contact with the touch screen at the angular positions at which the pointer 26, 63 coincide with the marking 64 on the bezel 65th For proper execution of the password is not the position where the touch operations, the bezel 65 is true, is not important. It is in the setting of the present variant is not important whether the first hour or first minute is read.
<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (a)</figref> shows the touch screen 1 with interactive, analog clock 6 and the fingers 8 of the user touches the touch screen 1 on the bezel 65 of the watch. 6 From<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig, 9 (a)</figref> after <figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (b)</figref> the bezel 65 has been rotated clockwise so that the mark 64 matches on the bezel 65 with the hour hand 62nd In<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (c)</figref> the finger was 8 taken from the touch screen 1, so that the current hour is registered, which is 2 PM. In<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (d)</figref> the touch operations 1 was resumed on the bezel 65 and the bezel 65 is clockwise to the position in <figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (e)</figref> turned. In<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (e)</figref> agrees the mark 64 correspond to the bezel 65 of the PM 6 with the minute hand 63, so there is time to 2:40, together with the already read hour. In<figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9 (f)</figref> turn the touch of the finger 8 was dissolved with the touch screen 1, so that the set angular position of the clock is 6 registered. Since the two registered positions of the bezel 65 is the current time, the password-protected action can now be executed.
In the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0009">Fig. 9</figref> elements of the watch can be moved without the time to be displayed by the watch is adjusted. This is due to the nature of the interactive, analog display. At such an interactive, analog clock and a numeric password that does not meet the current time can be entered. For example. can the minute hand are provided on the minute scale on the various figures of the password, without having to observe the positions of the bezel or the hour hand. Likewise, a combination use of defined numbers and values of the current time as a password, so that for example corresponds to the third digit of the password of the current minute.
In the <figref idrefs="f0010 f0011 f0012 f0013">Fig. 10 to 13</figref> are embodiments of the method described, the use of different ways a reset of the clock for the current time after entering the password.
<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10</figref> sequentially displays the password entry to an embodiment of the inventive method which is almost identical to that in <figref idrefs="f0004">Fig. 4</figref> Illustrated embodiment.
In addition to touch screen 1, hour hand 22, minute hand 23, bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26 and minute scale 27, the clock shown on a second hand 28th The elements 22 hour hand, minute hand 23 and second hand 28 of the PM can not be moved by touching the touchscreen. Furthermore form bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26, and minute scale 27 a composite element of the watch, which can be rotated around the axis of rotation of the pointer by touching the touchscreen. In<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10</figref> the password is "53-20-11" entered by the rotation of the minute scale, by the corresponding minute markers are brought into conformity with the second hand.
In <figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (a)</figref> is shown the starting position of the clock displayed on the touchscreen. In<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (b)</figref> is a contact with the touchscreen constructed using a finger 8 and the bezel is rotated counterclockwise so that the second hand on the minute scale, the number "53" indicates, see <figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (c)</figref>, Subsequently, the bezel is rotated clockwise, so that the reverse rotation to accept the first number of the password leads. In the same way the second number "20" is the password in<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (d)</figref> entered. The third number "11" is the password in<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (e)</figref> relatively registered by releasing the contact with the touch screen at the corresponding angular position of the bezel to the second hand. After releasing the touch of the finger with the touch screen, the bezel rotates back to its Ausgan gsstellung so in<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (f)</figref> again the current time is displayed.
During the password entry in <figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10</figref> cause the hands of the clock its rotation continues in accordance with the current time. Although the password entry only takes a few seconds can be seen clearly at the second hand. In between<figref idrefs="f0010">Fig. 10 (a) and Fig. 10 (f)</figref> have passed about 11 seconds. The tracks formed in the password input on the touch screen hanging here in addition to the time when the password input by the duration of the password input from. The tracks on the touch screen are so different if the same password is entered at the same time once quickly and once slowly. For the correct determination of the password based on the marks on the screen within seconds exact time when entering any number of password would therefore be necessary.
<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> sequentially displays Snapshots of password entry to an embodiment of the inventive method with an analog clock shown on the touch screen 1 consisting of hour hand 22, minute hand 23, bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26 and minute scale 27. The elements hour hand 22 and minute hand 23 of the PM are not through contact with the touch screen is movable. Furthermore form bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26, and minute scale 27 a composite element of the watch, which can be rotated around the axis of rotation of the pointer by touching the touchscreen. In<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> is twice the number "8" is entered by the rotation of the bezel by the corresponding hours index is made to coincide with the minute hand. The two numbers to be entered to the entire password or represent only a part of the password here. It can therefore both before the in<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> Snapshots shown and then more numbers for a longer password is entered. In the present embodiment, it is provided that a release of the contact with the touch screen causes the registration of a number of the password.
In the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> raises the bezel of the watch along with the hour and minute scale after releasing the contact with the touch screen back to its starting position. The initial position of the watch is in<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (a)</figref> shown. In<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (b)</figref> the bezel has been the basis of a contact with the touchscreen is rotated by a finger 8 so that the index of hours "8" corresponds to the minute hand. In between<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (b) and Fig. 11 (c)</figref> the contact was achieved with the touch screen, so that the number "8" of the password has been registered and the bezel with the scale will now begin to move back into the starting position. A snapshot during the return movement of the bezel is in<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (c)</figref> shown. In another snapshot of the return movement<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (d)</figref> turn was built with the touch screen through which the return movement of the bezel is stopped touching. As in<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (d)</figref> the touch was shown up with the touch screen before the bezel could completely move back to its original position. In between<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (d) and Fig. 11 (e)</figref> the bezel has been rotated clockwise again that matches the index of hours "8" with the minute hand, see <figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (e)</figref>, By loosening the contact is the number "8" is registered as part of the password and the bezel begins to move back to their initial position. In<figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11 (f)</figref> has the bezel completely moved back to its starting position.
In the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> is entered by the method according to the invention twice in succession the same number. However, left behind on the touchscreen traces are clearly different. For the input of the first number, the bezel was rotated by an angle of approximately 180 degrees clockwise. To enter the second number de lunette was however rotated only by an angle of approximately 90 degrees clockwise. The considerably lower rotation angle when entering the second number is due to the fact that the bezel has not fully moved to the beginning of entering the second number to its initial position. To identify the first number entered on the basis of left behind on the touch trace only the current minute must be known at the time of entry. Characterized in that the input of the second digit place during the return movement of the bezel, an identification of the second entered number has been difficult again with reference to the left behind traces on the touch screen.
It is contemplated that the speed at which the watch of the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0011">Fig. 11</figref> the starting position is so slow that the user has enough time to touch the screen to enter the next part of the password before the clock has reached its initial position. This is necessary so that created by writing the next part of the password hint on the touch screen in addition to the current time also depends on the time between the entry of the parts of the password. Furthermore, it is provided that the speed at which the clock resets to the initial position quickly enough to pass through a certain angle before the user touches the touch screen to enter the next part of the password. This is necessary for the provision of the clock can affect the resulting tracks on the touch screen. In a further embodiment, it is provided that the recovery rate of the bezel takes on a different value for each new entry of the password.
<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12</figref> sequentially displays Snapshots of password entry to an embodiment of the method for time 4:05. On the touch screen 1 an analog clock is shown, which consists of the elements 22 hour hand, minute hand 23, bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26 and minute scale 27th The elements 22 hour hand and minute hand 23 of the PM are moved not by contact with the touchscreen. Furthermore form bezel 24, dial 25, hour scale 26, and minute scale 27 a composite element of the watch, which can be rotated around the axis of rotation of the pointer by touching the touchscreen. In<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12</figref> is the combination of numbers "8-0-1" input by the corresponding hours index is brought into conformity with the minute hand. In the embodiment, the number "0" is positioned on the hour "10". The three numbers to be entered to the entire password or represent only a part of the password here. It can therefore both before the in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12</figref> Snapshots shown and then more numbers for a longer password is entered. In the present embodiment, it is provided that a release of the contact with the touch screen causes the registration of a number of the password.
In <figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (a)</figref> is shown with the analog clock before entering the three numbers "8-0-1" the touchscreen. In<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (b)</figref> the bezel has been rotated based on a touch of a finger with the touch screen 8 in the clockwise direction that the hour "8" corresponds to the minute hand. After loosening the contact in the in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (b)</figref> mapped position of the watch is thus the number "8" is registered as part of the entered password. As in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (c)</figref> represented the bezel begins now back to move slowly to their initial position. During the return movement of the bezel, the hour, "10" is incident on the minute hand, see<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (d)</figref>, As in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (d)</figref> it is shown to enter the next number "0" of the password thus only necessary to tap the screen in the right time short. As is precisely then dissolved in this tapping the screen, the touch when the hour "10" matches the minute hand, now the number "0" of the password is registered. Here, it is not on the screen takes place of significance at which point the contact with the touch screen. As in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (d)</figref> shown, the screen for entering the password may therefore be affected even at a location next to the clock. After tapping the screen to enter the number "0" sets the bezel continues its return movement. In<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (e)</figref> is represented by complete resetting of the clock, so again the current time can be read of the screen. Since the minute hand is already showing on the now number entered the password "1", it is not necessary the bezel to turn. As in<figref idrefs="f0012">Fig. 12 (f)</figref> shown, it is sufficient to enter the password here the screen anywhere to tap. When releasing the touch of the screen the position of the minute hand is then registered on the hour scale and the corresponding number added to the password.
<figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13</figref> sequentially displays snapshots to enter the password in the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0006">Fig. 6</figref> with the difference that resets the clock to enter the password to the current time. Resetting the clock to the current time is effected only after the adjustment of the number of hours set in 42<figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13 (c)</figref> and the subsequent release of the touch of the finger with the touch screen 1. In 8 <figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13 (d)</figref> has the hours already moved back by two hours. While the hour resets to the current hour, is of<figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13 (d)</figref> after <figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13 (e)</figref> the minute display adjusts to enter the password. After releasing the contact with the minute display is also the minute display is reset to the current time. Thus, in<figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13 (f)</figref> after entering a password to read back the current time.
The automatic resetting the clock <figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13</figref> has told the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0006">Fig. 6</figref> the advantage that at no time the complete password is displayed on the screen.
In <figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14</figref> are sequential snapshots to enter the password of the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0013">Fig. 13</figref> presented with the difference that the password entry not on the number of hours number 42 and the number of minutes set 43 takes place together, but one after another exclusively via the minute number 43. As in the <figref idrefs="f0006">Fig. 6</figref> and <figref idrefs="f0012">12</figref> is the password "05-32". For this purpose, in<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (b)</figref> a touch of a finger 8 made on the minutes of numbers, and then to put the number of minutes set up in motion. In this way you can scroll through the numbers of the minute display until the first number of the password is displayed on the touch screen. In<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (c)</figref> is the first number of the password "05" appeared, which is touched with a finger. By tapping the movement of the minute display is stopped and the number of the password registered.
For the registration of the numbers of the password, it is in the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14</figref> not matter where on the screen the numbers of the password can be tapped. Since tapping a very short contact corresponds to the finger is to the register of the first digit of the password is no longer in contact with the touch screen and the display starts to the current time reset, see<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (d)</figref>, In<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (e)</figref> the display has reset to the current time and the second number of the password is appeared on the screen. As in<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (e)</figref> illustrated this second number of the password is now also tapped for registration. After successful password entry is in<figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14 (f)</figref> again the current time display.
In a further embodiment of the method according to the invention is in contrast to the example of <figref idrefs="f0014">Fig. 14</figref> provided that all the numbers of the password to register on one and the same position you must tap on the screen. This has the advantage that overlie the tracks and footprints generated by tapping on the touch screen, thus making it difficult to recognize the password in addition.
<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15</figref> sequentially displays Snapshots of password entry to an embodiment of the method similar to that in <figref idrefs="f0007">Fig. 7</figref> the time 8:30. In the embodiment of<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15</figref> is reproduced with reference to individual series of numbers 431 and 432, the current hour based on individual rows of numbers 421 and 422 and the current minute. The number series 421 moves every ten hours to get a value down, the number sequence 422 every hour, number series 431 every ten minutes and the number series 432 moves at every full minute a value downward. For entering the password, the numbers of the password on the four series of numbers 421, 422, 431, 432 set separately. The password to be set is "73:15" and a correct password entry no particular chronological order of entry is necessary. Adjusting the numbers of the password is performed by tapping the respective number on the respective row of numbers.
The difference between the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15</figref> to the in <figref idrefs="f0007">Fig. 7</figref> is that the series of numbers 421, 422, 431 and 432 continue to run continuously to enter the password. This running away each row of numbers is similar to running away because of the time. In this example, the advance of the series of numbers can be described as a high back of the figures shown. All four rows of figures move at the same speed and the movement is slightly faster than that of a second display. Alternatively the numbers may run away and down. The running away may be continuous or erratic.
In <figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (a)</figref> is shown before entering the password of the touch screen 1 to the time 8:30. So here it is possible to read the time before entering the password. In between<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (a) and Fig. 15 (b)</figref> the password entry has been started, so that the series of numbers now run upwards. This is evident from the fact that the numbers "8:30" in<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (b)</figref> are no longer displayed in the center, but a series are moved further upward. The start of the password input can be caused by contact with the touch screen or pressing a function key. Alternatively, it is provided that the number series beginning with a defined delay after displaying the clock with the continuous movement.
In <figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (c)</figref> The number rows have a more number moves upward, so that the numbers "8:30" can be seen in the top row of numbers. By way of pin 9 a number of the password will be entered. This is the third digit of the password with the number "1", which in itself<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (c)</figref> located in the center of the series of numbers 431st As in<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (c)</figref> shown, the number "1" of the password is entered by pressing the corresponding number on the number line 431st In the variant embodiment<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15</figref> has the press of a number of password will mean that the corresponding number series stops moving. This is immediately apparent which point the password has already been entered. In an alternative embodiment, it is provided that the sequence of numbers after pressing the number of the password to continue its movement.
In <figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (d)</figref> The number series 421, 422 and 432 have moved to another number upwards. Here is the fourth digit of the password is entered. Tapping the number "5" this will be registered as part of the password. It is in the present embodiment is not important where the number of the password is on the screen in the corresponding row of numbers. This has the advantage that the password is not visible on the screen after the complete password entry easily. In the present example in<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (d)</figref> is tapped on the bottom row to the pin 9, the number of the fourth digit of the password. In<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (e)</figref> are the rows of numbers on which no number of the password has been entered moved to another location along. Here is the second digit of the password "3" to enter. In<figref idrefs="f0015">Fig. 15 (f)</figref> was finally the last number of the password tapped on the remaining number number 421, so that now the full password has been entered.
In <figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16</figref> is shown with an electronic device 70 having a display screen 1 and a function key or a control knob 71 a variant of the method. The function key 71 registered both the direction of strokes on the button and pressing the button. Such knobs are eg. In smartphones manufactured by HTC as the model HTC Desire Z to be found. The password entry in the present embodiment is not made through the screen 1 but instead on the control knob 71. For entering a password is set, the password "5:32" on the displayed PM by vertically brushing over the control knob 71 and by pressing the control knob on the basis of a finger 8 ,
In <figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16 (a)</figref> is ready for departure time 8:30 pm, the device 70 of a depicted on the screen 1 digital clock with the hour 42 and minute display 43rd By vertically swipe of the finger 8 on the control knob 71 from the top down, the displayed number of hours display 42 of the digital clock will be reduced. As in<figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16 (b)</figref> shown, thus the number "05" at the hour 42 is set. To register the set number as part of the password is now the operating button is pressed. By pressing the control knob, the minute display 43 is now adjustable with finger by swiping the control knob. As in<figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16 (c)</figref> minute that is displayed is represented by vertical stroking the control knob from the bottom upwards increases. After the password corresponding figure was adjusted to the minute display 43, the control knob 71 is now pressed to register the complete password, see<figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16 (d)</figref>,
In the embodiment of the method according to the invention from <figref idrefs="f0016">Fig. 16</figref> no marks were left on the touch screen, which can be used for identification of the password entered. Furthermore, taking the clock shown to enter the password only a small fraction of the display to complete. As an alternative to a function key is provided in other embodiments, a rotating wheel, a trackball or scroll wheel on the device itself or on an external device, such as. A mouse to use for password entry. By turning these input devices, a member of the clock will be adjusted and by pressing this or other input devices, the position of the member of the watch is registered and allows the next entry on the same or another element of the watch.
In <figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17</figref> are presented with power reserve indicator sequentially four snapshots of a variant of the method for password input via a clock. The power reserve is shown in this example, based on two discs 82, 83rd On the two disks 82, 83 of the power reserve, the numbers "0" to "9" applied. The display panel 81 of the power reserve framed each a number of the two discs 82, 83. The numbers displayed in the display panel 81 of the two disks 82, 83 in accordance with the power reserve, which is thus represented digitally. In the present embodiment, the power reserve indicates the charge status of the battery as a percentage. With decreasing state of charge, the left wheel 82 rotates thus counterclockwise and the right wheel 83 clockwise. Accordingly, the left disc 82 rotates clockwise during battery recharging and the right wheel 83 counterclockwise. In addition to the power reserve, the clock on an analog display 80 of the hour and minute.
<figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17 (a)</figref> shows the embodiment of the inventive method before the password entry to time 4:00. The indicated by the power reserve in the display 81 battery charge level is 73%. The password is "0-7" and is based on the two discs 82, 83 are set in the display panel 81st For this purpose, the disks 82, 83 based on a contact with the touch screen are adjustable. After an adjustment of the discs 82, 83 and releasing the contact with the touch screen to make the disks 82, 83 back, so that the entered password is displayed at any point on the screen.
In <figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17 (b)</figref> the left wheel 82 of the power reserve indicator has been rotated based on a touch of a finger with the touch screen 8 1 clockwise. It the first number of the password "0" on the display panel 81 has been set. By loosening the contact with the touch screen, the position of the adjusted disc is recorded and associated with the password. After releasing the contact with the touch screen, disguised disc begins 82 to turn back counterclockwise into the position corresponding to the state of charge of the battery.
In <figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17 (c)</figref> the second number of the password "7" in the display panel 81 of the power reserve has been set based on the right pane 83rd The left pane 82 is located in<figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17 (c)</figref> still in the reset operation. After releasing the touch of the finger 8 with the touch screen 1, the second number of the password is registered on the basis of the position of the disc 83rd The right wheel 83 also moves back into the position which corresponds to the current state of charge of the battery, see<figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17 (d)</figref>,
In further embodiments of the inventive method with watches with power reserve indicator and remaining time display a combined password is provided on the basis of hours, minutes and power reserve indicator. For example. , the first two numbers of the password as in the embodiment, in a four-digit password from<figref idrefs="f0003">Fig. 3</figref> with reference to the hour and minute hands and the two other numbers of the password as shown in the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17</figref> be entered on the basis of the power reserve.
The power reserve indicator of a clock can be done in different ways. Similar to the embodiment of<figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17</figref> with two number disks as three number plates can be used, see document <patcit id="pcit0016" dnum="US20110182152A"><text>US 2011/0182152 Al</text></patcit>, The use of a pointer moves on a full-circle or pitch scale between the values "on" and "Down" possible. For example. the values "empty", "half charged" and be "fully charged" used as part of the password here.
The power reserve indicator in <figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17</figref> can also be used as a date display. Here the number of the day is in the display panel 81 based on the two discs 82, 83 to "31" written on the corresponding month of "1". The password input by the novel process can here as in<figref idrefs="f0017">Fig. 17</figref> carried represented, with the difference that the displayed number can not be greater than "31" before entering the password the display 81st
Another embodiment of the method for entering the password is in <figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18</figref> shown. In the example in<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18</figref> PM used has an analog minute hand 92, which indicates on a circular dial 91 with a 60-minute scale and minute markers 93 the current minute. In<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (a)</figref> the minutes hand 92 thus to the minute "7". The current hour is displayed digitally on the basis of an hour disc 90th On the disc hours are the hours "1" to applied "12". The hour disc 90 moves every hour to a number clockwise. The current hour is to read the minute "0" or "60" at the position and is in<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (a)</figref> Thus "10". The of the clock<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (a)</figref> displayed time is 10:07.
For entering a password using the in <figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (a)</figref> PM shown, the hour disc 90 moved and touched by a contact with the touch screen. 1 The minute hand 92 with the appropriate scale is not adjustable. With a displacement of the hour disc, the hour is registered as number of inputted password after releasing the contact with the touch screen, showing the minute hand. With a tap on the hour disc, however, the hour is registered as number of inputted password, which is tapped. The entered password is "5-4-9-1".
In <figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (b)</figref> was the hour disc 90 based on a touch on the touchscreen with a finger 1 8 by approximately 110 degrees counterclockwise rotated, so that the minute hand 92 "5" indicates the hour. After releasing the contact with the touchscreen thus is the first number of the password "5" registered. In the<figref idrefs="f0018">Figures 18 (c) to 18 (e)</figref> the other three figures of the password "4-9-1" with the finger are successively tapped on the hour disc without changing the angular position of the hour disc. Thus, the password is typed completely. In<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (f)</figref> is shown after the password input the clock.
The embodiment of the method according to the invention from <figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18</figref> has the advantage that the password entry can be done very quickly, because the numbers of the password can be easily tapped. As the hour disc 90 with every hour changes its angular position, the traces of the finger is on the password entry to different hour at different locations. This makes it difficult to decrypt the password entered on the basis of the traces on the screen. Due to the possibility of manual adjustment of the hour disc as in<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (b)</figref> can decrypt the passphrase you are even more difficult.
In embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18</figref> corresponding to the password numbers on the hour wheel 90 with the minute hand 92 can be brought into agreement. Alternatively, the numbers of the password can be entered independently of the minute hand. In a further embodiment, the corresponding password numbers on the hour disc Minute of "0" or "60" at the position set. In principle, any angular position are defined to enter the password. The angular position would preferably be set in the definition of the password together with the other settings for password entry.
In <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19</figref> are displayed sequentially snapshots to enter the password of another embodiment of the inventive method. Shown in this example on the screen 1:00 has an hour hand 22, a minute hand 23 and a dial 25 with the minute indices and hour markers 27 26th On the bezel 24 hours 29 are plotted. In the<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (a)</figref> displayed time is 4:07.
In the watch from the embodiment in <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19</figref> can the bezel 24 with the dial 25, the hour markers 26, the minute indices turn 27 and applied to the bezel 29 hours by a user input. The plots on the bezel numbers are used to enter the password. When a password is provided that the hourly index which is the first digit of the password is made by rotating the bezel with the minute hand in accordance. The following numbers of the password can be tapped on the bezel, or in turn brought into conformity with the minute hand. For registration of the second, third and other figures of the password, the positions at the beginning and end of a contact with the screen 1 are recognized respectively. In the event that both positions are the same, a number of the password of this common position is assigned. In the event that the two positions are different, a number of the password is assigned both at the beginning of the contact, as well as the end of the touch. Here, the position is at the beginning of the contact, tapped on the bezel number assigned to the password. At the end of the contact then the number is assigned to the password on the bezel to which the minute hand points. This in<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19</figref> inputted password is "3-7-1-12".
In <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (a)</figref> is displayed before the password entry to time 4:07 of the screen. 1 In<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (b)</figref> the steady rest 24 has been rotated based on a touch of a finger 8 in the counterclockwise direction that the hour, "3" coincides with the minute hand 23rd After releasing the contact with the screen coinciding with the minute hand hour is recorded as the first number of the password. In the<figref idrefs="f0019">Figures 19 (c) and 19 (d)</figref> the second number "7" and and third number "1" of the password can be tapped. The touch of the screen to enter the third number is kept to rotate the bezel. In<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (e)</figref> is the position of the touch of the finger with the screen shown, in which the in <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (d)</figref> Touch operations is terminated with the screen. <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (d)</figref> thus showing the position at the beginning of contact and <figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (e)</figref> shows the position of the end of the contact. Since both positions are different, the two positions separately numbers of the password are assigned. In<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (d)</figref> is assigned to the touched number "1" the password. Subsequently, in<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (e)</figref> the coinciding with the minute hand number "12" assigned to the password. In<figref idrefs="f0019">Fig. 19 (f)</figref> is displayed after successful entry of the password that is displayed on screen clock.
In an alternative embodiment of the inventive multiple taps on the screen are necessary to enter the first digit of the password, which is adjusted by the first touch the clock shown on the touch screen, see <figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20</figref>, In<figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20 (a)</figref> is ready with an hour hand 22 and a minute hand 23 to the time 3:36 PM on a touch screen 1 an analog clock. In the subsequent<figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20 (b)</figref> a touch of the touch screen is made with a finger 8 at the location of the minute hand. Using the touch the displayed time will be adjusted by the minute hand, see<figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20 (c)</figref>, In<figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20 (d)</figref> is shown the adjusted clock, which now displays the time 4:07. In the adjusted clock can now be means of further contacts such as. In the embodiments of the<figref idrefs="f0004">figures 4</figref>. <figref idrefs="f0011">11</figref> or <figref idrefs="f0012">12</figref> enter a password, so that multiple user inputs are required for the entry of the first digit of the password.
The additional adjustment of the clock as in the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20</figref> can serve the purpose of impeding decrypting the password using the traces on the screen on. To move the hands of an analog clock, this can be touched very close to the axis of rotation. This allows a pointer to be adjusted by means of a very small movement to a relatively large angle. This has the consequence that the new hand positions very inaccurately can be recognized from the left behind on the touch screen when adjusting the pointer traces.
The additional adjustment of the clock as in the embodiment of <figref idrefs="f0020">Fig. 20</figref> can also serve the purpose of facilitating the password entry. As an example, a password entry at the clock from<figref idrefs="f0018">Fig. 18 (a)</figref> called 90 by adjusting the hours disc, which must be brought to the numbers of the password corresponding hours with the minute hand 22 in accordance to enter the password. When the minute hand at entering the password, for example. To the minute "30", the number of hours would be on the hour disc on encounter with the minute hand on the head. This could easily lead to confusion of hours "6" and "9". To prevent this, the minute hand could, for example. To the minute are "55" found, so that the number of hours during the meeting not be upside down with the minute hand.
