    An aerodynamic assembly (110) for the rear end of a vehicle body (100) comprising:a four-sided arrangement of panels being hingedly attached to at least one of a door assembly and a framework assembly that is hingedly attached to the vehicle body (100), the four-sided arrangement of panels including (a) a right hand top panel (162), a right hand side panel (172) and a right hand bottom panel (152), hingedly joined so as to selectively unfold into a right hand folded orientation and unfold into a right hand deployed orientation and (b) a left hand top panel (164), a left hand side panel (174), left hand bottom panel (154) hingedly joined so as to selectively unfold into a left hand folded orientation and unfold into a left hand deployed orientation the four-sided arrangement of panels tapering in a rearward direction from a rear of the vehicle body (100), the aerodynamic assembly (110) characterized in that the assembly (110) comprises: a right hand interconnection between the right hand top panel (162) and the right hand bottom panel (152) constructed and arranged to cause the right hand top panel (162), the right hand side panel (172) and the right hand bottom panel (152) to self-collapse when the at least one door assembly and framework assembly is opened and rotated into engagement with a side of the vehicle body (100);and a left hand interconnection between the left hand top panel (164) and the left hand bottom panel (154) constructed and arranged to cause the left hand top panel (164), the left hand side panel (174) and the left hand bottom panel (154) to self-collapse when the at least one door assembly and framework assembly is opened and rotated into engagement with a side of the vehicle body (100).

    An aerodynamic assembly (110) that moves between a folded orientation and an unfolded orientation for the rear of a vehicle body (100) having a right hand door (122) and a left hand door (124) or adapted with left and right hand door panels or open framework comprising:a right aerodynamic assembly half (112) having a right top panel (162) including a top door- hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (182) hingedly attached adjacent a top of the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework to fold downwardly, a right bottom panel (152) including a bottom door-hinged section (192) hingedly attached adjacent a bottom of the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework to fold upwardly and a right side panel (172) hingedly attached adjacent an outboard edge of the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework to fold inwardly toward a center line (126) between the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework and the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework, the top panel (162) further including a top side panel-hinged section (183) hingedly attached to each of the top door hinged section (182) and a top region of the side panel (172) and the bottom panel (152) further including a bottom side panel-hinged section (193) hingedly attached to each of the bottom door hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (192) and a bottom region of the side panel (172);a left aerodynamic assembly half (114) having a left top panel (164) including a top door-hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (184) hingedly attached adjacent a top of the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework to fold downwardly, a left bottom panel (154) including a bottom door-hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (194) hingedly attached adjacent a bottom of the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework to fold upwardly and a side panel (174) hingedly attached adjacent an outboard edge of the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework to fold inwardly toward a center line (126) between the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework and the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework, the top panel (164) further including a top side panel-hinged section (187) hingedly attached to each of the top door hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (184) and a top region of the side panel (174) and the bottom panel (154) further including a bottom side panel-hinged section (197) hingedly attached to each of the bottom door hinged or door panel or open framework-hinged section (194) and a bottom region of the side panel (174);a right swing arm assembly (198) hingedly attached to the right hand door (122) or door panel or open framework, and through a respective tie rod (934), to each of the right top panel (162) and the right bottom panel (152);and a left swing arm assembly (199) hingedly attached to the left hand door (124) or door panel or open framework, and through a respective tie rod (934), to each of the left top panel (164) and the left bottom panel (154).

    An aerodynamic assembly (110) for a rear end of a vehicle body (100) having a first swinging door and a second swinging door or adapted to have a secondary swing out door panel or open framework each hingedly attached with respect to each of a first side and an opposing second side of the vehicle comprising:a first top panel, hingedly divided into a pair of first top panel sections, a first section of the first top panel sections being hingedly attached to the first door or door panel or open framework adjacent to a top thereof, the first top panel being constructed and arranged to fold inwardly against the first door or door panel or open framework;a second top panel, hingedly divided into a pair of second top panel sections, a first section of the second top panel sections being hingedly attached to the second door or door panel or open framework adjacent to a top thereof, the second top panel being constructed and arranged to fold inwardly against the second door or door panel or open framework;a first side panel attached to the first door or door panel or open framework adjacent to a side thereof, the first side panel being hingedly attached to a second section of the first top panel sections and being constructed and arranged to fold inwardly against the first door or door panel or open framework;a second side panel attached to the second door or door panel or open framework adjacent to a side thereof, the second side panel being hingedly attached to a second section of the second top panel sections and being constructed and arranged to fold inwardly against the second door or door panel or open framework;a first swing arm assembly hingedly attached to the first door or door panel or open framework and to the first top panel, constructed and arranged to cause the first top panel and the first side panel to collectively fold inwardly toward the first door or door panel or open framework in response to inward movement of the first swing arm assembly;and a second swing arm assembly hingedly attached to the second door and to the second top panel, constructed and arranged to cause the second top panel and the second side panel to collectively fold inwardly toward the second door or door panel or open framework in response to inward movement of the first swing arm assembly, the assembly further comprising an actuator that applies biasing force to cause at least one of the first swing arm assembly and the second swing arm assembly to move hingedly outwardly so as to respectively deploy at least one of (a) the first top panel and the first side panel and (b) the second top panel and the second side panel.
