  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2011100512 A2 IN THE CLAIMS:1. An intramedullary assembly for bone fusion, comprising: a lag screw member, wherein the lag screw member comprises a first elongated body, and wherein the first elongated body includes a first threaded portion at a first end and a bulbous portion at a second end;and a tapered screw member adapted for coupling to the lag screw member, wherein the tapered screw member includes a second elongated body, wherein the second elongated body comprises a second threaded portion at a third end, a tubular portion at a fourth end, wherein the tubular portion comprises an opening disposed at an end of the tubular portion.
  2. 26
A method for bone fusion, comprising:providing an intramedullary assembly, wherein the intramedullary assembly further comprises: a lag screw member, wherein the lag screw member comprises a first elongated body, and wherein the first elongated body includes a first threaded portion at a first end and a bulbous portion at a second end;and a tapered screw member for coupling to the lag screw member, wherein the tapered screw member includes a second elongated body, wherein the second elongated body comprises a second threaded portion at a third end, a tubular portion at a fourth end, and an opening at the fourth end;making an incision in the foot;forming a first medullary canal in a first bone;inserting the tapered screw member into the first medullary canal;aligning the tapered screw member in the first medullary canal;forming a second medullary canal in the first bone;coupling the lag screw member to the tapered screw member;inserting the lag screw member into the second medullary canal;applying compression to the lag screw member to lock the tapered screw member to the lag screw member, thereby fusing the first bone to the second bone.
  3. 51
An intramedullary assembly for bone fusion, comprising:a lag screw member, wherein the lag screw member comprises a first elongated body, and wherein the first elongated body includes a first threaded portion at a first end and a bulbous portion at a second end;and a tapered screw member for coupling to the lag screw member, wherein the tapered screw member includes a second elongated body, wherein the second elongated body comprises a second threaded portion at a third end, a tubular portion at a fourth end, wherein the tubular portion comprises an opening at the fourth end, and wherein the bulbous portion is semi- spherical for providing angular rotation of the lag screw member.
  4. 64
The intramedullary assembly of claim 64, wherein each of the openings is adapted to receive a complementary shaped member .
