  1. 1
An apparatus (10, 10', 110) for injecting a settable compound into an in-ear device (1), the apparatus (10, 10', 110) comprising:- a plurality of pressurizable component chambers (20a, 20b, 134) for containing components (A, B) of a settable compound, each said component chamber (20a, 20b, 134) being pressurizable by a pressure mechanism (19a, 19b, 114, 116) at a chamber pressure level (P0);- a mixing element (21, 154) connected to all of the component chambers (20a, 20b, 134) via respective valves (27a, 27b, 142) positioned therebetween, all said respective valves (27a, 27b, 142) being simultaneously openable;- a first tube (31, 152) for connecting the mixing element (21, 154) to an in-flow canal (11) of said device (1), and being characterised by a relief chamber (25, 164) being in contact with said pressure mechanism for being depressurizable thereby;and a second tube (33, 158) for connecting the relief chamber (25, 164) to an out-flow canal (13) of said device (1);wherein, upon simultaneous opening of each said respective valves, each of the components (A, B) of the settable compound flows toward said mixing element (21, 154) and said first tube (31, 152) from respective said pressurized component chambers (20a, 20b, 134), with said second tube (33, 158) and relief chamber (25, 164) allowing air entrapped into the expandable chamber (8) of said device (1) and excess of the settable compound to flow thereto.
  2. 10
A method of injecting a multiple component settable compound into an in-ear device (1) for fitment into a wearer's ear canal (3), the method comprising the steps of:- providing a plurality of pressurizable component chambers (20a, 20b, 134), at least one said chambers (20a, 20b, 134) for each component (A, B) of the multiple component settable compound, and connected to a mixing element (21, 154) via respective valves (27a, 27b, 142) positioned therebetween and being simultaneously openable;- coupling the mixing element (21, 154) to an in-flow canal (11) of said device (1) via a first tube (31, 152), and coupling a relief chamber (25, 164) to an out-flow canal (13) of said device (1) via a second tube (33, 158);- pressurizing each of a plurality of component chambers (20a, 20b, 134) to a chamber pressure level (P0) being great enough for forcing the respective component (A, B) out of the chamber (20a, 20b, 134) into and through the expandable chamber (8) of said device (1);and being characterised by the step of: - simultaneously opening each said respective valves (27a, 27b, 142) to allow flowing each of the components (A, B) of the settable compound from respective said pressurized component chambers (20a, 20b, 134) toward the mixing element (21, 154) and the first tube (31, 152), while simultaneously partially vacuuming the relief chamber (25, 164) and the second tube (33, 158) to allow air entrapped into the expandable chamber (8) of said device (1) and an excess of the settable compound to flow thereto from the expandable chamber (8).
