  1. 1
A device (102) including:a wireless communication unit (104) to transmit and receive signals of a beamforming, BF, training, via one or more of a plurality of quasi-omnidirectional antenna assemblies (116, 120) of an initiator station, STA, each of the antenna assemblies including at least one transmit antenna sector, wherein the wireless communication unit (104) is to transmit to a responder STA a plurality of initiator BF training frames during one or more repetitions of a Transmit, Tx, Sector Sweep, TxSS, via each transmit antenna sector of each antenna assembly (116, 120), a count of the one or more repetitions of the TxSS is based on a count of quasi-omnidirectional antenna assemblies of the responder STA, an initiator BF training frame of the plurality of initiator BF training frames comprising an antenna identifier to identify an antenna assembly of the initiator STA to transmit the initiator BF training frame, and a sector identifier to identify a sector of the initiator STA to transmit the initiator BF training frame, wherein the wireless communication unit (104) is to receive a plurality of responder BF training frames from the responder STA, each responder BF training frame of the plurality of responder BF training frames comprising an indication of a responder-identified antenna assembly of the initiator STA and a responder-identified sector of the initiator STA based on one or more of the plurality of the initiator BF training frames, wherein the wireless communication unit is to transmit a feedback frame to the responder STA, the feedback frame comprising an initiator-identified transmit antenna assembly of the responder STA and an initiator-identified transmit sector of the responder STA, wherein the wireless communication unit is to transmit the feedback frame via the responder-identified antenna assembly and the responder-identified sector, and based on the responder BF training frames, the wireless communication unit (104) is to determine an antenna assembly of the initiator STA to communicate with the responder STA.
  2. 5
The device of any one of claims 1-4, wherein the initiator BF training frame comprises an indication of a remaining number of initiator BF training frames to be transmitted.
  3. 6
The device of any one of claims 1-5, wherein the wireless communication unit is to cause the initiator STA to operate an antenna assembly of the plurality of antenna assemblies of the initiator STA at a quasi-omnidirectional antenna pattern to receive the responder BF training frames.
  4. 7
The device of any one of claims 1-6, wherein the wireless communication unit is to cause the initiator STA to switch between the plurality of antenna assemblies of the initiator STA to receive the responder BF training frames.
  5. 8
A method to be performed at an initiator station, STA, of a Beamforming, BF, training, via one or more of a plurality of quasi-omnidirectional antenna assemblies (116, 120) of the initiator station, STA, each of the antenna assemblies including at least one transmit antenna sector, the method including:transmitting to a responder STA a plurality of initiator BF training frames during one or more repetitions of a Transmit, Tx, Sector Sweep, TxSS, via each transmit antenna sector of each antenna assembly (116, 120) of the initiator STA (102), a count of the one or more repetitions of the TxSS is based on a count of quasi-omnidirectional antenna assemblies of the responder STA, an initiator BF training frame of the plurality of initiator BF training frames comprising an antenna identifier to identify an antenna assembly of the initiator STA to transmit the initiator BF training frame, and a sector identifier to identify a sector of the initiator STA to transmit the initiator BF training frame;receiving a plurality of responder BF training frames from the responder STA, each responder BF training frame of the plurality of responder BF training frames comprising an indication of a responder-identified antenna assembly of the initiator STA and a responder-identified sector of the initiator STA based on one or more of the plurality of the initiator BF training frames;transmitting a feedback frame to the responder STA, the feedback frame comprising an initiator-identified transmit antenna assembly of the responder STA and an initiator-identified transmit sector of the responder STA, wherein the wireless communication unit is to transmit the feedback frame via the responder-identified antenna assembly and the responder-identified sector;and based on the responder BF training frames, determining an antenna assembly of the initiator STA to communicate with the responder STA.
  6. 10
The method of any one of claims 8-9, wherein the initiator BF training frame comprises an indication of a remaining number of initiator BF training frames to be transmitted.
  7. 11
The method of any one of claims 8-9 comprising switching between the plurality of antenna assemblies of the initiator STA to receive the responder BF training frames.
  8. 12
A product including a storage having stored thereon instructions, wherein the instructions, when executed by a machine, cause the machine to perform the method of any one of claims 8-11.
