  1. 1
A method for providing a graphical user interface, GUI, the method comprising:providing a display area in the GUI for displaying an image (3005), characterized in that the method further comprises: providing a first GUI tool for defining a single curvilinear border (3010) for the image (3005) based on user interaction and, without additional user interaction, generating a tunnel transition region (3110) between a foreground region and a background region about the border (3010) as a pair of deformable curves a specified width apart on either side of the border (3010), each curve modifiable in the GUI by a user after generation of the tunnel transition region (3110) in order to define more precisely the transition region (3110) for the image (3005), wherein a modification to one of the curves by movement of a control point on the curve automatically modifies both of the curves of the pair of deformable curves;and providing a second GUI tool, wherein a setting of the second GUI tool determines an initial width for the tunnel transition region generated by the first GUI tool and is modifiable after generation of the deformable curves in order to modify the width of the tunnel.
  2. 5
A machine readable medium storing a program for execution by at least one processing unit, the program, when executed by the at least one processing unit, providing a graphical user interface, GUI, comprising:a display area in the GUI for displaying an image (3005), characterised in that the GUI further comprises: a first GUI tool for defining a single curvilinear border (3010) for the image (3005) based on user interaction and, without additional user interaction, generating a tunnel transition region (3110) between a foreground region and a background region about the border (3010) as a pair of deformable curves a specified width apart on either side of the border (3010), each curve modifiable in the GUI by a user after generation of the tunnel transition region (3110) in order to define more precisely the transition region (3110) for the image (3005), wherein a modification to one of the curves by movement of a control point on the curve automatically modifies both of the curves of the pair of deformable curves;and a second GUI tool, wherein a setting of the second GUI tool determines an initial width for the tunnel transition region generated by the first GUI tool and is modifiable after generation of the deformable curves in order to modify the width of the tunnel.
  3. 11
A system comprising:a set of processing units for executing sets of instructions;a memory for storing a program for execution by at least one of the processing units, the program, when executed by the at least one of the processing units, providing a graphical user interface, GUI, , the GUI comprising: a display area in the GUI for displaying an image (3005), characterised in that the GUI further comprises: a first GUI tool for defining a single curvilinear border for the image (3005) based on user interaction and, without additional user interaction, generating a tunnel transition region (3110) between a foreground region and a background region about the border (3010) as a pair of deformable curves a specified width apart on either side of the border (3010), each curve modifiable in the GUI by a user after generation of the tunnel transition region (3110) in order to define more precisely the transition region (3110) for the image (3005), wherein a modification to one of the curves by movement of a control point on the curve automatically modifies both of the curves of the pair of deformable curves;and a second GUI tool, wherein a setting of the second GUI tool determines an initial width for the tunnel transition region generated by the first GUI tool and is modifiable after generation of the deformable curves in order to modify the width of the tunnel transition region.
