15 claims: 6 independent, 9 dependent

  1. 1
A decoder system (1300) comprising:a mix signal decoder (1301) configured to provide a first plural-chanriel audio signal having a set of objects;a remix parameter generator (1306) configured to receive side information for modifying the first plural-channel audio signal such that one or more source signals representing one or more of the objects are remixed into the first plural-channel audio signal;the remix parameter generator (1306) further configured to obtain a set of mix parameters for controlling the remixing of the one or more source signals into the first plural-channel audio signal;the remix parameter generator (1302) further configured to, based on the side information and the set of mix parameters, generate a set of remix parameters for remixing the first plural-channel audio signal;and a remix renderer (1304) configured to receive the remix parameters from the remix parameter generator (1302) and the first plural-channel audio signal from the mix signal decoder (1301) and remix the first plural-channel audio signal using the remix parameters to generate a second plural-channel audio signal.
  2. 4
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising a user-mix parameter generator (1310) configured to receive a set of user-specified mix parameters and convert the set of user-specified mix parameters into the set of mix parameters with a format suitable for processing by the remix parameter generator (1306).
  3. 6
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the remix parameter generator (1306) further comprises a first mix parameter generator (1312) configured to generate stereo remix parameters for remixing the first plural-channel audio signal into a stereo channel audio signal.
  4. 7
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the remix parameter generator (1306) further comprises a second mix parameter generator (1314) configured to generate multi-channel remix parameters for remixing the first plural-channel audio signal into a multi-channel audio signal.
  5. 10
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of claims 7 to 9 wherein the remix renderer (1304) further comprises a second mix renderer (1318) configured to remix the first plural-channel audio signal using the multi-channel remix parameters to generate the multi-channel audio signal.
  6. 12
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of claims 8 to 11, further comprising an effects processor (1320) configured to generate effects signals to be applied to the first plural-channel audio signal by the first (1316) or second mix renderer (1318).
  7. 14
The decoder system (1300) according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the decoder system (1300) is further configured to generate the second plural-channel audio signal by decomposing the first plural-channel audio signal into a first set of subband signals;estimating a second set of subband signals corresponding to the second plural-channel audio signal using the first set of subband signals, the side information or the set of blind parameters, and the set of mix parameters;and converting the second set of subband signals into the second plural-channel audio signal.
  8. 15
An audio coding system comprising the decoder system (1300) according to any one of the preceding claims.
