    A device, comprising:a receiver-stimulator (103) implantable in the heart of a patient using a delivery system (102) and configured to receive controlled acoustic energy from a controller-transmitter and to convert the acoustic energy to electrical energy, the receiver-stimulator (103) comprising: a first electrode (106), a second electrode (110), and an electrical contact (134b, 203, 204, 302, 310) electrically connected to the first electrode (106), wherein the first and second electrodes (106, 110) are configured to deliver the electrical energy at a location in the heart;an electrical connector configured to provide a temporary electrical connection between the electrical contact (134b, 203, 204, 302, 310) and the delivery system (102);and a disconnect mechanism (108) to disconnect the temporary electrical connection, wherein the disconnect mechanism (108): includes a seal (127, 206) configured to electrically insulate the electrical contact (134b, 203) from patient tissue when the receiver-stimulator (103) is detached from the delivery system (102), or is configured to electrically disconnect the electrical contact (204, 302, 310) from the first electrode (106) when the receiver-stimulator (103) is detached from the delivery system (102);wherein the electrical connector is configured to be connected to an external monitor through the delivery system (102).
