  1. 1
A method for handling interrupts within a multiprocessor computing system having one or more processors, the method comprising:receiving (520) an interrupt associated with an interrupt handler at the multiprocessor computing system;determining (530) a priority level associated with the interrupt handler;and characterized by generating (540) an interrupt message and communicating the interrupt message to one or more processors of the multiprocessor computing system;receiving (550) responses from the one or more processors indicating the respective current task priority levels, wherein receiving responses from the one or more processors comprises inferring that the current task priority level at each respective responding processor is lower than the priority level associated with the interrupt handler;and assigning (560) one of the processors to execute the interrupt handler in response to the processor having the lowest current task priority level.
  2. 7
A device (220) for handling interrupts within a multiprocessor computing system (110) having one or more processors (210A, 210B, 210C, 210D, 210E), the device configured to:receive (520) an interrupt associated with an interrupt handler at the multiprocessor computing system;determine (530) a priority level associated with the interrupt handler;characterized in that the device is further configured to generate (540) an interrupt message and communicating the interrupt message to one or more processors of the multiprocessor computing system;receive (550) responses from the one or more processors, the responses indicating the respective current task priority levels and infer, from the responses, that the current task priority level at each respective responding processor is lower than the priority level associated with the interrupt handler, and assigne (560) one of the processors to execute the interrupt handler in response to the processor having the lowest current task priority level.
