  1. 1
A method for controlling electronic transactions between a server computer (110) and a client computer (120) by means of a hardware device (130), the method comprising, in the hardware device (130), the steps of:- running a first communication protocol with encrypted data transmission and mutual authentication with the server computer (110), - performing a decryption of encrypted server responses received from the server computer (110), - forwarding the decrypted server responses to the client computer (120), - receiving client requests to be send to the server computer (110) from the client computer (120), characterized by - parsing the client requests for predefined transaction information that has been entered by a user by means of a client computer input unit, - encrypting and forwarding client requests that do not contain any predefined transaction information to the server computer (110), - presenting the predefined transaction information for user confirmation to a user upon detection in a client request, - forwarding and encrypting the client request containing the predefined transaction information to the server computer (110) if a user confirmation is received, wherein the hardware device interprets it as a confirmation if the user does not cancel the transaction within a predefined time period.
  2. 2
A hardware device (130) for controlling electronic transactions, comprising a hardware device interface unit (270), wherein the hardware device interface unit (270) is provided for coupling the hardware device (130) to a client computer (120), wherein the hardware device (130) is adapted to - run a first communication protocol with encrypted data transmission and mutual authentication with a server computer (110), - perform a decryption of encrypted server responses received from the server computer (110), - forward the decrypted server responses to the client computer (120), - receive client requests to be send from the client computer (120) to the server computer (110), characterized in that the hardware device (130) comprises a hardware device display (210), and characterized in that the hardware device is adapted to:- parse the client requests for predefined transaction information that has been entered by a user by means of a client computer input unit, - encrypt and forward client requests that do not contain any predefined transaction information to the server computer (110), - display the predefined transaction information upon detection in a client request for user confirmation on the hardware device display (210), - forward and encrypt client requests containing the predefined transaction information to the server computer (110) if a user confirmation is received, - interpret it as a confirmation if the user does not cancel the transaction within a predefined time period.
  3. 5
A hardware device (130) according to any one of claims 2 to 4, wherein the hardware device (130) has a predefined level of tamper- resistance.
  4. 7
A hardware device (130) according to any one of claims 2 to 6, wherein the hardware device (130) is designed in such a way that no software applications can be loaded onto the hardware device (130).
  5. 8
A hardware device (130) according to claims 3 or 4, wherein the security sensitive data comprises a private key and trust root information.
  6. 9
A hardware device (130) according to any one of claims 2 to 8, wherein the hardware device (130) comprises a hardware device input unit (280) for confirming and/or canceling a transaction.
  7. 12
A method for controlling electronic transactions between a server computer (110) and a client computer (120) by means of a hardware device (130), the method comprising, in the hardware device (130), the steps of:- running a first communication protocol with encrypted data transmission and mutual authentication with the server computer (110), - performing a decryption of encrypted server responses received from the server computer (110), characterized by - parsing the server responses for predefined transaction information, - forwarding server responses that do not contain any predefined transaction information to the client computer (120), - presenting the predefined transaction information for user confirmation to a user upon detection in a server response, - forwarding the server response containing the predefined transaction information to the client computer (120) if a user confirmation is received, wherein the hardware device interprets it as a confirmation if the user does not cancel the transaction within a predefined time period.
  8. 13
A hardware device (130) for controlling electronic transactions, comprising a hardware device display (210) and a hardware device interface unit (270), wherein the hardware device interface unit (270) is provided for coupling the hardware device (130) to a client computer (120), wherein the hardware device (130) is adapted to - run a first communication protocol with encrypted data transmission and mutual authentication with a server computer (110), - perform a decryption of encrypted server responses received from the server computer (110), characterized in that the hardware device (130) comprises a hardware device display (210), and characterized in that the hardware device is adapted to:- parse the server responses for predefined transaction information, - forward server responses that do not contain any predefined transaction information to the client computer (120), - display the predefined transaction information for user confirmation upon detection in a server response on the hardware device display (210), - forward server responses containing the predefined transaction information to the client computer (120) if a user confirmation is received, - interpret it as a confirmation if the user does not cancel the transaction within a predefined time period.
