Automatic gain control for a wireless receiver

Abstract

An automatic gain controller (250) comprises means (410) for determining a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level (P(n)), a loop filter (420) for filtering the log error, and means for determining a gain based on the loop filter output. The gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level.

  1. 1
An apparatus comprising:at least one processor configured to determine a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level, to filter the log error with a loop filter to obtain a loop filter output, and to determine a first gain based on the loop filter output, wherein the first gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level;anda memory coupled to the at least one processor.
  2. 8
A processor configured to determine a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level, to filter the log error with a loop filter to obtain a loop filter output, and to determine a first gain based on the loop filter output, wherein the first gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level.
  3. 10
A method comprising:determining a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level;filtering the log error with a loop filter to obtain a loop filter output;anddetermining a first gain based on the loop filter output, wherein the first gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level.
  4. 12
An apparatus comprising:means for determining a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level;means for filtering the log error with a loop filter to obtain a loop filter output;andmeans for determining a first gain based on the loop filter output, wherein the first gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level.
  5. 14
Computer-readable medium encoded with a computer program to:determine a logarithmic (log) error in an output signal level;filter the log error with a loop filter to obtain a loop filter output;anddetermine a first gain based on the loop filter output, wherein the first gain is used to correct the log error in the output signal level.
