10 claims: 9 independent, 1 dependent

  1. 1
A fuel nozzle (10) comprising:a fuel conduit supply (12) having: at least one pilot cavity (16) and at least one main cavity (18) separated from one another by a distance of at least 0.02cm;and a distributor ring (14) having at least one injection post (24) extending outwardly therefrom, the distributor ring (14) operably coupled to each of the at least one pilot cavity (16) and at least one main cavity (18) wherein the nozzle (10) is fabricated using metal injection molding.
  2. 3
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1 or 2 wherein the pilot cavity (16) and the main cavity (18) are non-linear.
  3. 4
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2 or 3 further comprising at least one pilot injector (32).
  4. 5
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3 or 4 wherein the pilot cavity (16) is operably coupled to the pilot injector (32).
  5. 6
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 wherein the fuel conduit (12) and distributor ring (14) are sintered together.
  6. 7
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 wherein the injection post (24) is integral with the distributor ring (14).
  7. 8
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 wherein the distributor ring (14) comprises a plurality of injection posts (24) extending outwardly therefrom.
  8. 9
A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 wherein the distributor ring (14) is enclosed by a forward heat shield (26) coupled to an aft heat shield (28) that together form an insulation gap (30) around the distributor ring (14).
  9. 10
    A nozzle (10) according to any of claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 wherein the fuel conduit supply (12) is axially or circumferentially oriented.
