  1. 1
An apparatus in a wireless communication system, comprising:a controller (410,912) for distributing packets, to be transmitted to a serving base station (920), BS, to a plurality of processors (420-1,420-2,914,916) to transmit the packets in a multi-frequency allocation, FA, access mode;the plurality of the processors (420-1,420-2,914,916) for establishing a connection for each of FAs comprising a first FA and a second FA with the serving BS (920), and generating a media access control, MAC, protocol data units, PDUs, for each of the FAs, wherein the plurality of processors comprise a first processor for the first FA and a second processor for the second FA;and a plurality of senders for encoding the MAC PDUs provided from the corresponding processors (420-1,420-2,914,916) for each of the FAs and transmitting signals to the serving BS, wherein the controller (410,912) determines a handover from the serving BS (920) to a target BS (930), the connection with the serving BS (920) for the second FA being released by the second processor, wherein the first processor (420-1,914) establishes a first connection with the target BS (930) using the first FA by performing the handover with the target BS upon the connection with the serving BS for the second FA being released, and wherein the second processor (420-2,916) establishes a second connection with the target BS (930) using the second FA upon the first connection with the target BS using the first FA being established.
  2. 8
An apparatus in a wireless communication system, comprising:a plurality of receivers (510-1, 510-2) for decoding signals concurrently received through a connection for each of multiple Frequency Allocations, FAs, comprising a first FA and a second FA from a serving base station, BS, in multi-FA access mode;a plurality of processors (520-1, 520-2) for establishing a connection for each of the FAs with the serving BS (920) and extracting media access control, MAC, service data units, SDUs, for each of the FAs from the decoded signals, wherein the plurality of processors comprise a first processor (520-1) for the first FA and a second processor (520-2) for the second FA;and a controller (530) for aggregating and processing the MAC SDUs, wherein the controller (530) determines a handover from the serving BS (920) to a target BS (930), the connection with the serving BS for the second FA being released by the second processor (520-2), wherein the first processor (520-1) establishes a first connection with the target BS using the first FA by performing the handover with the target BS upon the connection with the serving BS for the second FA being released, and wherein the second processor (520-2) establishes a second connection with the target BS using the second FA upon the first connection with the target BS using the first FA being established.
  3. 14
A communication method in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:establishing a connection for each of frequency allocations, FAs, comprising a first FA and a second FA with a serving BS;distributing packets, to be transmitted to a serving base station, BS, on a FA basis to transmit the packets in a multi-FA access mode;generating media access control, MAC, protocol data units, PDUs, for each of the FAs;transmitting signals for the MAC PDUs, to the serving BS, at each of the FAs;determining (905) a handover from the serving BS to a target BS;releasing (907) a connection with the serving BS for the second FA;establishing (911,913) a first connection with the target BS using the first FA by performing the handover with the target BS upon the connection with the serving BS for the second FA being released;and establishing (917) a second connection with the target BS using the second FA upon the first connection with the target BS using the first FA being established.
  4. 20
A communication method in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:establishing a connection for each of frequency allocations, FAs, with a serving base station, BS, wherein the FAs comprise a first FA and a second FA;decoding signals concurrently received through the connection for each of the FAs from a serving BS in multi-FA access mode;extracting media access control, MAC, service data units, SDUs, for each of the FAs from the decoded signals;aggregating and processing the MAC SDUs;determining a handover (905) from the serving BS to a target BS;releasing (907) a connection with the serving BS for the second FA;establishing (911,913) a first connection with the target BS using the first FA by performing the handover with the target BS upon the connection with the serving BS for the second FA being released;and establishing (917) a second connection with the target BS using the second FA upon the first connection with the target BS using the first FA being established.
