    An apparatus for generating a data stream (102) having a series of segments using data organized in subsequent data frames, comprising:a packetiser (210) for packetising data from a data frame into the series of segments having a first segment (Seg#0) and a second segment (Seg#1), the second segment (Seg#1) having interpretable data entities and having a data entity fragment, the data entity fragment comprise an in-complete data entity not interpretable on their own and wherein adjacent and subsequent to the data entity fragment in the data stream, an interpretable data entity having a start is located;and an information block adder (220) for adding an information block (304) associated with the second segment (Seg#1), the information block (304) indicating the start of the interpretable data entity within the second segment (Seg#1), in which the packetiser (210) is operative to packetise the series of segments such that the first segment (Seg#0) and the second segment (Seg#1) have the same size.

    An apparatus for interpreting a data stream (102) having a series of segments with a first segment (Seg#0), having an associated additional information block (302), the additional information block (302) indicating a starting point (X a ) of a data frame having interpretable data entities, and a second segment (Seg#1) having an associated information block (304), the second segment (Seg#1) following an erroneous segment and the information block (304) indicating a start of an interpretable data entity following a data entity fragment, the data entity fragment comprise an in-complete data entity not interpretable on their own and wherein adjacent and subsequent to the data entity fragment in the data stream, an interpretable data entity having the start is located, comprising:an error detector (240) for detecting the erroneous segment;an information block interpreter (250) for interpreting the additional information block (302), to extract information about the starting point (X a ) of the data frame and for interpreting the information block (304) to extract information about the entry point;and a frame re-constructor (260) for reconstructing data of the data frame by collecting the data starting from the starting point (X a ) of the data frame, by dropping the erroneous segment and the data entity fragment, by dropping the additional information block (302) and the information block (304), and by applying an error concealment operation for dropped frame data, in which the information block interpreter (250) has stored a fixed segment size and a fixed information block size, in which the first segment (Seg#0) and the second segment (Seg#1) have the same fixed segment size and the same fixed information block size.

    Apparatus according to claims 16, in which the information block (304) comprises a plurality of bits, wherein one bit has a first mode value and additional bits of the plurality of bits carry information about the entry point, and the additional information block (302) has a plurality of bits, one bit having a second mode value, and additional bits carrying information about the starting point (X a ) of the frame, the first mode values being different from the second mode;and in which the frame re-constructor (260) is operative to read the one bit of an information block and to interpret the additional bits of the information block depending on a value of the one bit.

    A data stream (102) comprising data organized in a series of segments, comprising:a first segment (Seg#0);a second segment (Seg#1) having interpretable data entities and having a data entity fragment, the data entity fragment comprises an in-complete data entity not interpretable on their own and wherein adjacent and subsequent to the data entity fragment in the data stream, an interpretable data entity having a start is located;and an information block (304) indicating the start of the interpretable data entity within the second segment (Seg#1), wherein the first segment (Seg#0) and the second segment (Seg#1) have the same size.

    A method for generating a data stream (102) having a series of segments, all segments have same size, using data organized in subsequent data frames, comprising the following steps:packetising data from a data frame into the series of segments having a first segment (Seg#0) and a second segment (Seg#1), the second segment (Seg#1) having interpretable data entities and having a data entity fragment, the data entity fragment comprise an in-complete data entity not interpretable on their own and wherein adjacent and subsequent to the data entity fragment in the data stream, an interpretable data entity having a start is located;and adding an information block (304) associated with the second segment (Seg#1), the information block (304) indicating the start of the interpretable data entity within the second segment (Seg#1), in which the step of packetising is performed such the series of segments such that the first segment (Seg#0) and the second segment (Seg#1) have the same size.

    A method for interpreting a data stream (102) having a series of segments with a first segment (Seg#0), having an associated additional information block (302), the additional information block (302) indicating a starting point (X a ) of a data frame having interpretable data entities, and a second segment (Seg#1) having an associated information block (304), the second segment (Seg#1) following an erroneous segment and the information block (304) indicating a start of an interpretable data entity following a data entity fragment, the data entity fragment comprise an in-complete data entity not interpretable on their own and wherein adjacent and subsequent to the data entity fragment in the data stream, an interpretable data entity having the start is located, comprising:detecting the erroneous segment;interpreting the additional information block (302), to extract information about the starting point (X a ) of the data frame and for interpreting the information block (304) to extract information about the entry point;and reconstructing data of the data frame by collecting the data starting from the starting point (X a ) of the data frame, by dropping the erroneous segment and the data entity fragment, by dropping the additional information block (302) and the information block (304), and by applying an error concealment operation for dropped frame data, in which the information block interpreter (250) has stored a fixed segment size and a fixed information block size, in which the first segment (Seg#0) and the second segment (Seg#1) have the same fixed segment size and the same fixed information block size.
