    Claims of equivalent WO 2007076132 A2 What is claimed is:1. A method for selectively immobilizing a macromolecule in an extended state, wherein a first portion of said extended macromolecule is immobilized, comprising the step of: selectively immobilizing a second portion of said extended macromolecule such that said macromolecule is immobilized in an extended state.

    The method of Claim 1 wherein said immobilized macromolecule is extended between the first portion and the second portion.
