p0001The invention relates to a multi-colored shaped body with successive layers stored, which is particularly suitable for the production of dental restoration and in which the color transition between the individual layers is not perceive without technical aids.
p0002Dental restoration parts of moldings, for example, ceramic or plastic moldings, are worked out. This elaboration is usually machined, for example, computer-aided by a CAD / CAM method. In view of the subsequent use of the dental restoration parts, the moldings should already have particular aesthetic properties.
p0003Natural teeth are not monochromatic, but have a complex color. Different areas of the same tooth may differ from each other in their color and their transparency. Generally show teeth a color and transparency over transparent in the occlusal area to yellowish opaque in the cervical region.
p0004To achieve a desired color monochrome dental restoration parts can be veneered subsequently. Such delusion but usually must be performed manually consuming. Therefore multicolor molding are preferred, from which dental restoration parts can be produced that meet without facing aesthetic demands and have a color scheme, the natural teeth as closely as possible in color and transparency and gradient.
p0005more colored form body are known from the prior art, which are composed of a plurality of differently colored layers.
p0006So the Fa. VITA Zahnfabrik GmbH offers the VITABLOCS® Triluxe, which consist of three differently colored layers of a feldspar and to make the production more visually appealing dental restoration parts easier. This restoration parts are, however, blinded still.
p0007The <patcit id="pcit0001" dnum="US5151044A"><text>US 5,151,044</text></patcit> describes multi-layer blocks of plastic materials that can be used for the production of artificial teeth or dental prostheses. These blocks contain preferably up to three differently colored layers to simulate the color gradient of natural teeth.
p0008Furthermore, from <patcit id="pcit0002" dnum="DE19944130A1"><text>DE 199 44 130 A1</text></patcit> known to use, for the manufacture of dental prostheses by CAD / CAM processes blocks of a plurality of differently colored layers with standardized optical properties. The virtual positioning of the restoration part within a block is optimized so that the gradient of the later restoration part comes closest to a corresponding natural tooth of the patient. On a facing the restoration parts produced should not be necessary.
p0009However, the color boundaries between the individual layers are in the known multi-colored moldings which are made up of different colored layers, clearly visible. Therefore, the restoration parts produced according to the prior art still have to be blinded to obtain a high aesthetic demands adequate restoration.
p0010The <patcit id="pcit0003" dnum="DE19714178A1"><text>DE 197 14 178 A1</text></patcit> describes a method for producing a multi-colored shaped body, wherein the color boundaries between the individual layers should not be visible. Thereafter, the contact surfaces of the individual layers are subjected to pressure and brought the differently colored starting materials in the boundary area in intimate contact in order to achieve a mixing of the starting materials.
p0011However, practice has shown that this method results in inadequate mixing and therefore, the limits of the color layers in the thus produced molded articles and restoration parts with the naked eye visible.
p0012There is therefore a need for a multi-colored shaped body for the production of dental restorations with different colored layers, in which to the naked eye no color boundaries are visible between the individual layers.
p0013This object is surprisingly achieved by the multi-colored shaped body according to claims 1 to 15th The invention also relates to a method for producing the multi-colored shaped body according to claim 16 and the use of the multi-colored shaped body according to claims 17 to 19th
p0014The terms "color" and "colored" in the sense of the invention relate to the color, brightness and translucency of a material, a body or layer. According to the invention, the terms "color" and "colored" in particular the brightness. Therefore, among the changes of color are understood in particular to change the brightness.
p0015"Translucency" is the light transmittance of a material, a body or layer, ie, the ratio of transmitted to incident light intensity.
p0016Colors can for example be characterized by their Lab value or by a standard in the dental industry shade. Examples of such color keys are the Vitapan classical® and the Vita 3D Master®, both of VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH & Co. KG, and the Chromascop® of Ivoclar Vivadent AG.
p0017Measurements of layer thicknesses can be effected for example at right angles to the stratification sawed from a molding and polished sections by taken on a stereoscope scaled microscope images of these sections and are at these recordings length measurements, for example, with the image processing program analySIS Five performed. In particular, the layer thickness is understood the average more particular for layer thicknesses.
p0018The inventive multi-colored moldings with successive stored layers is distinguished in that it<ol><li>(A) at least two successive and differently colored main layers and</li><li>(B) has at least two differently colored intermediate layers between at least two successive and differently colored main layers,</li></ol>wherein between these intermediate layers, the change of color in a direction that is opposite to the direction of the change in color between the main layers.
p0019The change in color may in particular consist essentially in a change in their respective brightness. In a preferred embodiment, therefore, the moldings of the invention is characterized in that between the intermediate layers, the increase in brightness takes place in a direction which is opposite to the direction of the increase in brightness between the main layers.
p0020It has been shown that when moldings of the invention, surprisingly, the color boundaries between differently colored main layers are practically imperceptible to the naked eye.
p0021It has also been recognized that the clear visibility of the color boundaries between the individual layers in previously known moldings by an optical illusion is enhanced.
p0022Looking at adjacent areas of different color or brightness occurs in the human eye to the so-called lateral inhibition of neighboring receptors in the retina. Thereby, the dark area of the light area on the other hand appears in the boundary region of two differently colored surfaces darker than in more remote from the boundary surface areas, brighter than in more remote from the boundary surface areas. The case by the human eye perceived higher-contrast transitions are called Mach strips. By this effect, the contrast is increased at the color boundary and enhances the perception of the color boundary. Due to this effect is in a sequence of differently colored layers which are each in monochrome to a perceived color gradient within the individual layers, which is opposite to the gradient of the colors of the individual layers. These effects are more perceived in brighter colors than with darker colors.
p0023The optical effects described are contrary to the desired dental restorations at a target as possible the natural gradient, so that the color boundaries between the layers are clearly perceptible in the known multicolored moldings. The moldings according to the invention, however, these effects are compensated by the insertion of specially designed intermediate layers or even overcompensated and achieved a gradient, in which the limits of the differently colored layers may no longer be perceived by the naked eye.
p0024The subject of a preferred embodiment of the invention is a multi-colored shaped body, in which the lying between two successive and differently colored main layers intermediate layers alternately have the colors of these old main layers. This allows a desired gradient in which the color boundaries are practically imperceptible, be achieved using relatively few colors.
p0025A particularly preferred embodiment is a multi-colored shaped body, wherein between two successive and differently colored main layers exactly two intermediate layers are arranged and each of these intermediate layers, the color of the main layer has, adjacent to the respective other intermediate layer.
p0026Accordingly, even such a molding is preferred, which has at least one element of four successive bearing layers, wherein<ol><li>(A) the first layer having a first main layer;</li><li>(B) the second layer an intermediate layer having the color of the second main layer;</li><li>(C) the third layer is an intermediate layer having the color of the first main layer; and</li><li>(D) the fourth layer is a second main layer.</li></ol>
p0027In moldings according to the invention, the sum of the main and intermediate layers at least four, ie, at least two main layers and at least two intermediate layers before. Preferably have moldings of the invention 4 to 20, preferably 4 to 10 and more preferably 4 to 8 main and intermediate layers.
p0028The increase in contrast that occurs in the absence of intermediate layers at the boundaries of the main layers, more or less pronounced depending on the translucency and brightness of the layers involved. Therefore, in the form of bodies having more than two main layers, the insertion of intermediate layers is not absolutely necessary at each boundary between two main layers. Thus, a dental restoration which satisfies high aesthetic demands, be made of an economically producible molding.
p0029In a preferred embodiment, an inventive moldings eight successive bearing layers, wherein <ol><li>(A) the first layer having a first main layer;</li><li>(B) the second layer is a second main layer;</li><li>(C) the third layer is an intermediate layer having the color of the third main layer;</li><li>(D) the fourth layer is an intermediate layer having the color of the second main layer;</li><li>(E) the fifth layer is a third main layer;</li><li>(F) the sixth layer an intermediate layer having the color of the fourth main layer;</li><li>(G) the seventh layer an intermediate layer having the color of the third main layer; and</li><li>(H) the eighth layer is a fourth main layer.</li></ol>
p0030Preferably, an inventive molding has a height of 10 mm to 20 mm, more preferably from 14 mm to 16 mm.
p0031The main layers of the shaped body according to the invention preferably have a thickness of more than 0.5 mm, in particular more than 0.5 mm and up to 15 mm, preferably more than 0.5 mm and to 10 mm and particularly preferably from 0.7 mm to 8 mm ,
p0032The intermediate layers of the shaped body according to the invention preferably have a thickness of up to 0.5 mm, in particular 0.01 mm to 0.5 mm, preferably 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm and more preferably 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm ,
p0033A molding of the invention may consist of any for the production of moldings for dental restorations suitable materials. Preferred materials are ceramics, glass ceramics, plastics, inorganic-organic composites, or mixtures thereof.
p0034Particularly preferred is a shaped body which (a) SiO2, (B) Al2O3 and (c) K2O and / or Na2O contains.
p0035Differently colored layers may comprise the same material, which is colored differently, or have different materials.
p0036The stratification of the moldings is based preferably on the stratification of the common in the dental industry shade, such as the Vitapan classical® or Vita 3D Master®, both of VITA Zahnfabrik H. Rauter GmbH & Co. KG, or the Chromascop® Ivoclar Vivadent AG. The tooth models of these color keys define only one color, but are subject to tooth-like layers of different mixtures of materials and / or colors and translucency and inspired by the different colors of human teeth. Preferably, these basic color mapping is maintained even when the moldings of the invention, so that the dental restorations produced from them largely corresponds to the natural tooth.
p0037The invention is also directed to another multi-colored shaped body for the preparation of dental restorations, the<ol><li>(A) at least two successive and differently colored main layers and</li><li>(B) comprises an intermediate layer between at least two successive and differently colored main layers,</li></ol>wherein the intermediate layer contains a mixture of the materials of the two successive main layers, preferably composed thereof.
p0038The main layers of this other molding of the invention preferably have a thickness of more than 0.5 mm, in particular more than 0.5 mm and up to 15 mm, preferably more than 0.5 mm and to 10 mm and particularly preferably from 0.7 mm to 8 mm.
p0039The intermediate layer of this other molding of the invention preferably has a thickness of up to 0.5 mm, in particular 0.01 mm to 0.5 mm, preferably 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm and more preferably 0.2 mm to 0.4 mm.
p0040Further preferred embodiments of this other molding of the invention have the properties described above in terms of preferred numbers of layers, preferred heights of the molding and preferred materials as for the other embodiments.
p0041The invention also relates to a process for preparing the multi-colored shaped body according to the invention with successive layers supported, wherein the main layers and the intermediate layers are mounted to each other so that a molding of the invention is obtained.
p0042Finally, the invention also relates to the use of the multi-colored shaped body according to the invention for the manufacture of dental restorations. In this case, the preparation of dental restorations computerized, in particular by means of CAD / CAM methods are performed. Preferred dental restorations are artificial teeth, inlays, onlays, bridges and crowns.
