A process for producing an organic device having a hole current-electron current conversion layer which comprises a laminate of an electron transportation section and a hole transportation section, said process comprising forming said electron transportation section by codepositing a mixed layer of an organic metal complex compound, namely Liq, containing an alkaline metal ion, namely Li + , and an electron-accepting organic compound, namely Alq or BCP, and contacting a thermally reducible metal, namely Al, capable of reducing said alkaline metal ion contained in the organic metal complex compound in vacuum to the corresponding metal state, upon contact, with said mixed layer by lamination, wherein a charge transfer complex is formed upon an oxidation-reduction reaction between said Li + and said electron-accepting organic compound, said Li + being produced upon an in-situ thermal reduction reaction caused upon said contact, and forming said hole transportation section by contacting, through lamination or mixing by codeposition an organic compound having an ionization potential of less than 5.7 eV and an electron-donating property, and an inorganic substance capable of forming a charge transfer complex through its oxidation-reduction reaction with the organic compound upon contact in which the electron-donating organic compound is in the state of radical cations.
