  1. 1
A system comprising:a host controller (110) to be coupled to an agent (130) via hub, said host controller (110) to perform a split transaction to transfer data between the host controller (110) and the agent (130);the system further comprising a device driver to operate the host controller (110) to perform a first transaction of the split transaction and a second transaction of the split transaction between the host controller (110) and the hub (120), said second transaction being different than said first transaction;wherein an agent transaction between the hub (120) and agent (130) is to be performed in response to the first transaction of the split transaction, and the agent transaction is to be performed at a data rate that is different from the first and second transactions of the split transaction and characterized in that : the host controller (110) is to perform a third transaction with a different agent on the same hub as the agent while the agent transaction is being performed.
  2. 3
The system of any of claims 1 or 2 wherein the host controller (110) is to send to the hub (120), during the first transaction, a first packet including agent identification information.
  3. 5
The system of any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the host controller (110) is to receive an acknowledgement from the hub (120) during the second transaction of the split transaction.
  4. 6
A device comprising a hub controller (181) to be coupled to a host controller (110) and to an agent (130) said hub controller (181) to perform a split transaction with the host controller (110) to effect a transfer of data between the host controller (110) and the agent (130);wherein the hub controller (181) is to perform a first transaction of the split transaction and a second transaction of the split transaction with a host (102), said second transaction being different than said first transaction;wherein the hub controller (181) is to perform an agent transaction with the agent (130) in response to the first transaction of the split transaction;wherein the agent transaction is performed at a data rate that is different from the first and second transactions of the split transaction;and characterized in that the hub controller (181) is to perform a transaction with a different agent while the agent transaction is being performed.
  5. 8
The device of any of claims 6 or 7, wherein the hub controller (181) is to receive a first packet from the host (102) during the first transaction, the first packet including agent identification information, and the hub controller (181) is to send an acknowledgement to the host controller (110) during the second transaction.
  6. 9
The device of any of claims 6, 7 or 8, wherein the hub controller (181) is to receive a first packet from the host controller (110) during the second transaction and the hub controller (181) is to send a second packet to the host controller (110) during the second transaction, the second packet being based on data to be received from the host controller (110).
  7. 10
A method for communicating data between a host (102) and an agent (130), the method comprising:performing a split transaction to transfer data between a host controller (110) and the agent (130), said performing a split transaction including: performing a first transaction of the split transaction between the host controller (110) and a hub (120);performing an agent transaction between the hub (120) and the agent (130) in response to the first transaction;performing a second transaction of the split transaction between the host controller (110) and the hub (120), said second transaction being different than said first transaction;wherein the agent transaction between the hub (120) and agent (130) is at a data rate that is different from the first and second transactions of the split transaction;and performing a third transaction between the host controller (110) and a different agent on the same hub as the agent while the agent transaction is being performed.
  8. 12
The method of any of claims 10 or 11, wherein the split transaction further includes:sending a first packet including agent identification information, said first packet being sent by the host controller (110) to the hub (120), during the first transaction of the split transaction.
  9. 14
The method of any of claims 10 to 13, wherein the split transaction further includes:receiving an acknowledgement from the hub (120) at the host controller (110) during the second transaction of the split transaction.
