  1. 1
A method for managing radio resources by a radio resource manager, RRM, (106) in a wireless network (100) comprising a plurality of nodes (102-1, ... 102-n), the RRM, and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit, WTRU, (108), the method comprising:the RRM (106) monitoring performance of wireless backhaul links (112-1, ..., 112-n) associated with the nodes (102-1, ... 102-n) of the wireless network (100);and the RRM interacting with at least one of the nodes to change a configuration on a particular one of the wireless backhaul links between two of the nodes if performance on the particular wireless backhaul link falls below an established threshold, whereby when the RRM recognizes that one of said at least one WTRUs (108) is interfering with said particular wireless backhaul link, the RRM interacts with said at least one of the nodes to mitigate the impact of interference caused by the WTRU, whereby the RRM assigns and reassigns timeslots as a function of interference observed by the RRM in particular timeslots.
  2. 7
A radio resource manager, RRM, (106) for managing radio resources in a wireless network (100) comprising a plurality of nodes (102-1, ... 102-n), the RRM, and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), (108), the RRM being configured to:monitor performance of wireless backhaul links (112-1, ... 112-n) associated with the nodes (102-1, ... 102-n) of the wireless network (100);and interact with at least one of the nodes to change a configuration on a particular one of the wireless backhaul links between two of the nodes if performance on the particular wireless backhaul link falls below an established threshold, whereby when the RRM recognizes that one of said at least one WTRUs (108) is interfering with said particular wireless backhaul link, the RRM is further configured to interact with said at least one of the nodes to mitigate the impact of interference caused by the WTRU, whereby the RRM is further configured to assign and reassign timeslots as a function of interference observed by the RRM in particular timeslots.
