  1. 1
A method for multi-source, multi-destination data transfers, the method comprising:in one or more data structures as destination objects, wherein the destination objects are objects displayed in a graphical user interface for selecting by a user, identifying, by the user, a plurality of destination points (104) as locations in the destination objects (102), each destination point having a destination context (106) as a portion of the destination object that contains the destination point, by the steps of: a) recording (504) each identified destination point;and b) storing (505) in association with each recorded destination point a copy of a destination context for each recorded destination point;identifying, by the user, a plurality of selected source content (212) for transfer;displaying (508) destination contexts (106) for each of the plurality of destination points (104) to provide a visual impression of the surroundings of each destination point;and mapping, by the user, at least one of the plurality of selected source content (212) to at least one of the plurality of destination points (104) in dependence upon the displayed destination contexts;wherein the step of mapping further comprises: creating an entry, in a transfer map, of source content selected by the user for copying and/or selected by the user for transferring;creating a mapping, in the transfer map, between the selected source content and a selected destination point in one or more destination objects, each mapping indicating source content for copying and source content for transferring;transferring the selected source content, identified in the transfer map for copying and identified in the transfer map for transferring to the designated source content by inserting designated source content at selected destination points in one or more destination objects and deleting the designated source content identified for transferring from its source object.
  2. 5
A system for multi-source, multi-destination data transfers, the system comprising:means for identifying by a user, in one or more data structures as destination objects (102) wherein the destination objects are objects displayed in a graphical user interface for selecting by a user, a plurality of destination points (104) as locations in the destination objects (102), each destination point having a destination context (106) as a portion of the destination object that contains the destination point, by the steps of: a) recording (504) each identified destination point;and b) storing (505) in association with each recorded destination point a copy of a destination context for each recorded destination point;means for identifying, by a user, a plurality of selected source content (212) for transfer;means for displaying (508) destination contexts (106) for each of the plurality of destination points (104) to provide a visual impression of the surroundings of each destination point;and means for mapping, by a user, at least one of the plurality of selected source content (212) to at least one of the plurality of destination points (104) in dependence upon the displayed destination contexts;wherein the step of mapping further comprises: creating an entry in a transfer map of source content selected by the user for copying and/or selected by the user for transferring;creating a mapping, in the transfer map, between the selected source content and a selected destination point in one or more destination objects, each mapping indicating source content for copying and source content for transferring;transferring the selected source content, identified in the transfer map for copying - and identified in the transfer map for transferring to the designated source content by inserting designated source content at selected destination points in one or more destination objects and deleting the designated source content identified for transferring from its source object.
  3. 9
A computer program element comprising computer program code to, when loaded into a computer system and executed thereon, cause the computer to perform the steps of a method as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4.
