    Claims of equivalent WO 2005125109 A2 CLAIMS What is claimed is:1. In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising: (a) queuing data in a buffer within the WTRU;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;(d) if the WTRU determines in step (c) that the selected data was not previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU selecting a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) within an allowed limit;(e) the WTRU assigning a hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) process;(f) the WTRU generating at least one enhanced uplink medium access control (MAC-e) protocol data unit (PDU);and (g) the WTRU initiating an enhanced uplink transmission which identifies the H-ARQ process and the MCS.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising:(a) queuing data in a buffer within the WTRU;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;-12- (c) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;(d) if the WTRU determines in step (c) that the selected data was not previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU selecting a transport block set (TBS) size within an allowed limit;(e) the WTRU assigning a hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) process;(f) the WTRU generating at least one enhanced uplink medium access control (MAC-e) protocol data unit (PDU);and (g) the WTRU initiating an enhanced uplink transmission which identifies the H-ARQ process and the TBS size.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, the WTRU being configured to include a buffer and a retransmission counter, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising:(a) queuing data in the buffer;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;(d) if the WTRU determines in step (c) that the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU determining whether a non-acknowledge (NACK) message or no response was received from the Node-B in response to the transmission of the selected data;and (e) if the WTRU determines in step (d) that a non-acknowledge (NACK) message or no response was received from the Node-B in response to the transmission of the selected data, the WTRU determining whether the -13- retransmission counter indicates that the WTRU transmitted the selected data to the Node-B more than a maximum number of times.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method for dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, comprising:(a) the WTRU queuing data in a buffer;(b) the WTRU selecting data for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data is new data;(d) if the data is new data, (dl) the WTRU selecting a data transmission parameter within an allowed limit;(d2) the WTRU assigning a hybrid automatic repeat request (H- ARQ) process for transmission of the data;(d3) the WTRU transmitting the data identifying the data transmission parameter;and (d4) initializing a transmission count.

    A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) for dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters for transmission of enhanced dedicated channel (E-DCH) data to a Node-B, the WTRU comprising:a buffer for queuing E-DCH data;a retransmission counter for tracking number of transmissions of same data block;a transmitter and a receiver for transmitting and receiving the E-DCH data;and a controller for selecting data and transmission parameters for transmission of the E-DCH data to the Node-B and assigning a hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) process for transmission of the data, whereby if the data is new data the controller selects a data transmission parameter within an allowed limit and initializes a retransmission count.

    An integrated circuit (IC) for dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters for transmission of enhanced dedicated channel (E- DCH) data to a Node-B, the IC comprising:a buffer for queuing E-DCH data;a retransmission counter for tracking number of transmissions of same data block;-19- a transmitter and a receiver for transmitting and receiving the E-DCH data;and a controller for selecting data and transmission parameters for transmission of the E-DCH data to the Node-B and assigning a hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) process for transmission of the data, whereby if the data is new data, the controller selects a data transmission parameter within an allowed limit and initializes a retransmission count.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising:(a) queuing data in a buffer within the WTRU;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU receiving a message from the Node-B, the message including information specifying a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a transport block set (TBS) size;(d) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;and (e) if the WTRU determines in step (d) that the selected data was not previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU selecting a transport block set (TBS) size based on the information in the message received from the Node-B.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising:(a) queuing data in a buffer within the WTRU;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU deriving information including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a transport block set (TBS) size from a channel quality indicator (CQI);(d) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;and (e) if the WTRU determines in step (d) that the selected data was not previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU selecting a transport block set (TBS) size based on the information in the CQI.

    In a wireless communication system including a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) and a Node-B, a method of dynamically adjusting data transmission parameters, the method comprising:-21- (a) queuing data in a buffer within the WTRU;(b) the WTRU selecting data from the buffer available for transmission to the Node-B;(c) the WTRU deriving information including a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a transport block set (TBS) size from a transport format combination (TFC) index;(d) the WTRU determining whether or not the selected data was previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B;and (e) if the WTRU determines in step (d) that the selected data was not previously transmitted by the WTRU to the Node-B, the WTRU selecting a transport block set (TBS) size based on the information in the TFC index.
