Translation of description of equivalent WO 2005101583 A1
p0001Sealed connector by a partition and assembly processes
p0002The present invention relates to a plug connection for producing at least an electrical connection through an opening of a partition wall. The plug connection, which is also referred to as a through connector, has a first and a second plug which can be plugged together, and at least one of the plug is via an opening surrounding the seal against the partition wall can be sealed. Specifically, the present invention relates to a plug connection, wherein at least one of the plugs has a clamping device which is engageable with the other plug engages and with which the two connectors are permanently tensioned in their mating direction with inclusion of the partition wall. The invention further relates to an assembly method for manufacturing such an electric connector.
p0003In a known generic type connector, as shown for example in the published international patent application WO 2004/047234 A1, the tensioning of the two connectors is performed to one another with incorporation of the partition wall by means of a pusher which is approximately transverse to the tensioning of the two connectors in a direction towards the through-direction is displaced by the partition. Guide rails convert thereby the pushing force in a clamping force.
p0004However, in this known clamping device, the problem occurs that at the connecting points between the chuck and the plugs moisture can penetrate, which can lead to failure of the connector.
p0005The invention is therefore based on the object to improve a generic connector and an assembly method of the aforementioned type such that the density can be increased relative to the environment and the reliability of the connection.
p0006According to the present invention, this object is achieved by a connector having the features of claim 1. Furthermore, the object is achieved by a corresponding assembly method comprising the steps of the independent method claim.
p0007Furthermore, one of the present invention underlying task, one ne generic connector and an assembly method of the type mentioned to improve the effect that can be fixed in a very simple manner, at least one of the two connectors on the bulkhead and assembly errors can be easily detected.
p0008This object is achieved by a connector having the features of claim 27 and by a corresponding mounting method comprising the steps of claim 33rd
p0009Advantageous developments of the present invention are the subject of several dependent claims accident.
p0010The present invention is based on the fundamental idea that an undesirable ingress of moisture can be prevented in the interior of the connector characterized in that the connection area between the clamping device and the at least one connector is sealed by a sealing device.
p0011According to an advantageous embodiment the clamping device comprises at least one actuating projection which cooperates to tighten the connector with a receptacle that is arranged on one of the plug. In this manner can be carried out in a tension force in a very simple way, a translation of the expended during clamping force.
p0012In order to keep the area that such a sealing device needs to seal, as low as possible, the clamping device may comprise according to an advantageous embodiment a latch lever which is for clamping the two connector about a rotational axis which extends approximately transversely to the through-direction through the partition wall, pivotally , In such an arrangement it is sufficient to seal the area in which the lock lever rotatably mounted. In order to achieve a particularly effective force transmission of a pivoting movement into a clamping force for clamping the plugs, may be arranged with involute tooth flanks on the bearing projections as actuating projection respectively at least one tooth.
p0013According to an advantageous embodiment the clamping device comprises a locking lever having a base portion and two leg portions. _An The leg portions bearing projections are formed, which rules in corresponding Lagerausneh- of a plug rotatably mounted. In this way can be realized in a particularly simple manner that the locking lever for tensioning the plug about a rotational axis which extends approximately transversely to the through-direction through the partition is pivotable. The sealing device may then be placed on the bearing projections, for example in the form of an O-ring, or it is alternatively molded directly onto the bearing projections.
p0014A particularly inexpensive and simple embodiment of the sealing device according to the invention is given, when the sealing device is constituted by an elastic O-ring.
p0015The seal against the partition wall must be installed around the opening in the partition. According to an advantageous embodiment, the seal can be sprayed onto the outer periphery of the plug, so that the gasket is firmly attached to the connector housing. Moreover, the connection between the seal and the connector to which it is molded, always completely tight. However, this sealing also be a separate part which is engageable with both the plug and also with the partition wall in plant.
p0016In order to prevent unintentional loosening of the clamping device, a separate securing device TE, which is also referred to as a connector position assurance (CPA), may be provided for locking the tensioning device in a finally assembled state. In a particularly space-saving manner releasably is the security device, if they the through-direction through the partition is transversely displaceably in a direction.
p0017A latching lug which is provided for latching the clamping device to the securing device, is a particularly effective and easily realizable possibility of locking.
p0018As an alternative to the pivoting locking lever can also be used correspondingly off sealed sliding clamping device, which is for example useful if the available space to pivot the locked! rigs- lever does not allow during assembly. It may be a sliding device having at least one transmission or reduction arrangement, the jig. This allows converting an applied sliding force or movement in a greater or smaller clamping force or movement.
p0019Particularly advantageously, the clamping device may be a pusher, the _At tensioning of the connector in a direction approximately transverse to the feed-through direction by the partition wall displaceable. A particularly simple jig to plug connection is possible, the margins can be easy and is very fast and the installation space required can be kept low.
p0020In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention, the tensioning device may comprise at least one guide rail, which partially extends in a plane longer gs for mating direction and approximately transverse to the mating direction. Thus a sliding force or movement in a clamping force or movement is convertible.
p0021One sees a sealing device at an opening of a first connector housing through which emerges an engaging element of the clamping device, before, then a formed as a pusher jig against moisture penetration are particularly effectively sealed. Such a seal can, for example, be injection molded and improve the tightness even more complex cross-sections, eg., those having at least one sealing lip comprise.
p0022A particularly reliable and feasible with little effort seal can be achieved when at a second connector housing at least one sealing projection is formed, which cooperates for sealing the plug-in connection with the sealing device.
p0023Characterized in that further a locking device provided between a locked position in which the second connector is fixed on the partition wall, and an unlocked position wherein a particularly secure fixing of the second connector on the partition wall can be achieved. Such locking device as further connector position assurance (CPA) may be referred to, can be carried out so that a release is possible and in the case of the second plug repair can be easily removed from the partition. On the other hand, if greater forces must be expended during mating of the first connector, to ensure that the second connector is not accidentally released from the partition. , Is when this second plug ROS in a Ka kept serie sheet, particularly its rear side is accessible at the time of mating of not more readily, as is the case for example in a car door, can be avoided with the solution according to the invention that the second connector can no longer be contacted properly.
p0024Characterized in that the locking device is mechanically fixed in the unlocked position, a defined position of the latching device in the preassembled state to be ensured.
p0025It may further be disposed on the locking device at least one latch to secure the locking device in cooperation with a corre- sponding locking opening in the locked position. This is especially for applications in the automotive sector is important because here strong mechanical and thermal stresses occur during operation. Thus, the locking device can not move inadvertently out of the unlocked position, the at least one latch in the unlocked position can cooperate with a further associated latching opening, in order to fix the locking device in this position. Conveniently, these locking connection is accessible from the outside (at least for a suitable tool), so that it is in the case of a desired expansion solvable.
p0026The locking device can be displaced in the simplest case with respect to the second connector in mating direction of the connector. However, this solution has the disadvantage that it can not be ensured that the two connectors can only be plugged in, when the locking device is located correctly in its locked position. To ensure a particularly simple manner that the two connectors can only be plugged in when the second connector is in its final position in the opening of the partition wall and the locking device is properly locked, the locking device may be mounted on the second connector housing by means of a hinge-type connection and between the locked and the unlocked position by a swiveling movement around an axis approximately transversely to the through-direction through the partition wall extends to be movable.
p0027In such an embodiment may then be disposed in the second connector housing for example, a rotational axis of the opposite edge region in the unlatched state that the two connectors are not fitted together.
p0028Of course, the proposed in the context of the present tensioning device locking device can be used for other connections.

p0053The connector 100 of the invention comprises in a first embodiment with reference to Fig. 1 comprises a first connector 1 and a second plug 17. Here, the second connector 17 is mounted in a partition wall 37th According to the present embodiment, in the second plug 17 is a pin connector and the first connector 1 to the corresponding female connector, but this is not essential to the present de invention, since the arrangement of pins and sockets could be also vice versa.
p0054According to the invention the first connector 1 by means of a circumferential seal 28 is sealed against the partition 37th As will be explained with reference to Figures 3 and 4, the connector 100 of the invention a clamping device 160 that the two plugs, including the partition wall 37 braced against each other in the final assembled position shown in FIG. 1. In this case, serves as a first embodiment a latch lever 160 as a clamping device. The first connector 1 has a first plug housing 2, a neck 7, at the Le a Tül- is attachable, a first pin receiver 5, and a second pin receiver 6. The spout, which is not shown here, as well as the stub 7 are part a channel through which a cable, not shown, is introduced into the interior of the first plug housing second In order to prevent the penetration of moisture into the interior of the plug at the junction between the first plug housing 2 and the lock lever 160, the first connector 1 according to the invention a sealing device 162nd This sealing device is realized in the embodiment shown by a simple O-ring. Of course, other options for the preparation of the sealing device be availed such as molded seals or gaskets complex shape having z. B. sealing lips.
p0055As described with reference to Fig. 3 will become apparent, the seal on a bearing projection 164 is arranged, which keeps the lock lever 160 pivoted in direction 166 in a bearing support 168 of the first plug housing 2. Through the special shaping of the sealing device 162 as the O-ring seal 160 can be ensured in a particularly simple manner in spite of the movability of the locking lever.
p0056In order to illustrate the structure of the lock lever 160, the connector 100 according to the invention is shown in FIG. 2 in a rotated perspective view again. In this view it can be seen that the locking lever 160 is protected against unintentional unlocking towards 166 by a securing device 170th The security device 170 in this case has a locking lug 172 th to Verras- on the latch opening 174 of the locking lever 160th With this arrangement, therefore, on the one hand to prevent the locking lever 160 is pivoted unintentionally and thus the sealing tension between the two connectors is 1 and 17 accidentally released, on the other hand, the locking device 172 remains easily accessible from the outside, in order, if necessary, (at least with an appropriate tool) to open.
p0057In Fig. 3, the first embodiment of the connector according to the invention is shown in the unmated condition. Here, the second plug 17 is already mounted in the partition 37th A resilient spring arm 152 having a latching nose 131, which are integrally formed on the housing 25 secure the second plug 17 in the opening of the partition wall 37. During installation space can be saved additionally, as the second connector 17 in this "park position" is not must firmly rest against the partition 37, but, if necessary, is still slidably mounted. Only when closing the Contact with the first connector 1 and the contact means upon tightening of the locking lever 160 of the second plug 17 is attracted to the partition and pressed 37th The recording (see Fig. 4) allows 176 intervention of a on the lever located Verrieg- molded actuating projection 178 to clamp the two connectors on the partition 37. To the operating principle, the engagement member 176 is formed as a reduced toothed rack which cooperates with the actuating element 178, which is formed as part of a gear.
p0058In order to prevent that the second plug 17 can fall out under mechanical stress during the assembly of the partition wall, a locking device is still 102 is provided, whose operation is to block in the locked state, a deflection of the latch arm 152 inwardly so that the plug 17 can not fall out of the opening. The resilient latching arm 152 is formed integrally in the embodiment shown in the plastic housing of the second jump-ckers.
p0059As described with reference to FIG. 5 is still apparent, the locking device 102 has a detent lug 110 which is locked both in the locked as well as in the unlocked state in a corresponding latching opening 124 or 126 so that the locking device 102 captive in two positions is secured. The locking device 102 is between the locked and unlocked position in direction 150, ie movable in mating direction of the connector 1 and 17th This is all the more advantageous because the locking device is thus particularly easy to access from the outside and easily locked by an operator and can be solved again. Two elongated cutouts 154 also allow flexible movement of the locking lug 110. An actuating projection 156 simplifies operation of the locking device 102 by a user. The surfaces 158 (see FIG. 5) provide in the locked state for locking the detent hooks 131st
p0060A drip proof cap 26 covers the second plug 17 and protects against the ingress of dripping water. The first plug 1 is shown here with a tilted upwards locking lever 160th The securing device 170, which is displaceably mounted on the casing 2, is located in the illustration shown in a position in which during subsequent pivoting of the locking lever 160, a latching with the latching nose 172 is allows light. After pivoting of the locking lever 160 to the indicated illustrated axis of rotation 180, the securing device 170 can be pushed in direction 182, whereby the detent 172 with the projection 184 comes to the locking lever 160 engages and this securely holds in its locked position. An actuating projection 186 simplifies the displacement of the locking device 170. In order to ensure a reliable guidance, the safety device is further slidably in corresponding grooves on the housing. 2 Finally, it is formed on the securing device 170 has a securing tab, which prevents displacement of the securing device in the direction 182 until it is pushed through the folded-down locking lever 160 to the housing 2 and allows the locking tab 188 is slidable in the groove 190th
p0061Fig. 4 shows the first embodiment of the first connector 1 in an exploded representation. As shown in FIG. 4, the first and second pin recesses 5, 6 sections complementary to one another, so that the first pin recess 5 in the direction of arrow 8 in the second pin recess 6 is partially inserted. In the assembled state, the first and the second pin receiver 5, 6 insertable in the direction of arrow 9 in the interior of the first plug housing second A latching device 192 ensures a secure grip in the first plug housing 2. The first connector housing the invention comprises at approximately circular bearing recesses 168, 164 through diving and rotation about the dash lines indicated axis 180 permit by which the bearing projections.
p0062According to the above the bearing projections 164 each as a sealing device an O-ring 162 is pushed. This O-ring prevents the penetration of moisture through the bearing opening 168 into the interior of the connector housing 2. Opposite the partition wall is the plug housing in the mounted state on the seal 28 sealed. This seal can be either molded or manufactured as a prefabricated part, for example made of silicone rubber and mounted on the connector housing. 2 The locking release lever 160 has a substantially U-shaped form with two legs, on which the bearing projections 164 are integrally formed, and a base that comes into engagement with the securing device 170 on. The fact that the locking lever 160, the housing 2 partially surrounds a space-saving arrangement as possible can be realized.
p0063On the bearing protrusion 164 is a part of a gear is each formed as an actuating element 178, which comes with corresponding engagement members 176 on the second plug housing 25 in engagement. Advantageously, the actuating element 178 is formed as a part of an involute toothing and the tooth flank 194, which must stop in the final assembled state, the overall strength is formed on the solid material of the bearing boss 164 to allow a better force absorption and long term stability.
